When I was diagnosed with mouth cancer a few years ago my wife said it's your choice anywhere in the world where would you like to go on a holiday in these uncertain times? Expecting me to say USA Canada or New Zealand I chose Benidorm to her amazement! The whole world and you chose Benidorm was her reply. I just wanted to see all that I had read about good and bad. What a fantastic time we had so underrated such clean beaches we enjoyed it so much we have been back time and time again. Cancer all gone now.
With the tapas thing, my mum lives in Spain and whenever we go over and eat outside, she puts a small plate with a tiny bit of the food on at the end of the table. That distracts the flies and wasps and keeps them away from your dinner. It does work

Good Evening Lee. Rather a very relaxing film of one having a mooch through Benidorm old town. We Gentlemen of a certain now, we have been there and done that. It is just really nice to take things easy and slowly. Walk around looking at a few places of interest. Sherry's Bar did look rather inviting. I do remember watching your food reviews there Lee. It would be a must for me, if was looking for a Lovely Restaurant and bar to relax in and people watch. Benidorm is a mixture of all sorts of very Lovely and Welcoming people. When I were a lad, going on holiday to Blackpool with my Grandparents, I always used to go with my Grandad in the morning to the newsagents for his paper, getting a comic in the process. Years later, in my teens onwards, I'd go and get the paper for him (usually trying to keep the change!) Today, even though he's been gone many a year, the first day of our holiday will see me going out for a paper in memory of him! Other than that, rarely read papers now!
Ignore what insular nationalistic British news media say. Benidorm has everything for every taste from frugal to high end. You can drink yourself silly or go hiking in the hills it's up to you. The benidorm enthusiast's latest vlog is a good response to negative British media reports lately.
When my cousins invited me to join them on a holiday in Ibiza, I was initially reluctant. I thought it was just for teenagers and 18-30 year olds. I thought I would feel out of place and it was all night clubs and disco bars (is that what the youth call them?). Instead I had one of the best holidays ever. Family activities in the morning, archery, target shooting, crazy golf, you name it, and various evening events (not singers, everything from performing parrots to drag acts). Then out on the town until 3-4am! Not bad for a middle aged man from Worcestershire 😂

I absolutely love the promenade in front of the hotels. There are a few of them in the states but most of the resort areas, you have the beach area directly in front of the resorts. I just love that where folks can either walk on the promenade or the beach.
You REALLY do do a crackin' vid Lee. The music swapping from a Madge mobile/s shot to general walking about is pure class imo. The simple things are always the best. I originally subscribed to your channel for the leccy car input, but now I really enjoy these travel vlogs/vids, whatever you wish to call 'em too. Yes Lee, so many places to visit and choose to sit and have a drink or a meal. We went to Artigas III every afternoon and we've visited Lazy Cow too, lovely venues. When we arrived on 10th September, we headed for Sherry's Bar and Tom had a Sunday Roast and I went with the Curry Half Rice and Half Chips, and bye eck it was bloody lovely!! Lol, thank you so much for showcasing Sherry's, yes you simply must go back. Also give either India Gate (near Winners) or Nepali Tandoori (behind Hotel Presidente, cheap too) a go. Hi Lee, Great to see you back in good old Benidorm 😁 There is a lot of mobility scooters yes, The Benidorm limousines 😂 They’re really cheap, about €30 a week so probably why theres loads 😅 I have a recommendation for you- Bar Majorca. You’ll find it next to Palm Court apartments, Top of the British square. The food is great, Prices are great too and the couple who own it are British and so nice. They’re Sunday dinners are top notch. They also do breakfasts from all over the UK, Scottish, Northern Ireland etc. definitely a wee hidden gem. And yes I remember my dad going out early every morning on holiday and buying a newspaper, Changed days indeed. Edit** Yes you’re correct about the tapas, It means lid or cover and the bread was to stop the drinks going off or something 😂
Quite a few Spanish Gents still read local newspapers, Lee. Usually if you find somewhere that has a Village Square near a Tabacs, you'll see them there reading papers and smoking their Cigars that they've just bought from the Tabacs Shop.
Indeed, my brother and sister in-law do exactly the same. Wintertime they stay for some months in Benidorm. Price for food and hotel is cheaper then they stay in The Netherlands.
I always avoid the beach front eating places , you should try some of the lovely restaurant's there also you wont be disappointed . Old town is a lovely place. Good review mate
I was in Benidorm and stayed up the hill in the Terralto Apartments hotel. Paid quite a few visits to Sherry’s. Their chips are good. I tried to cover some of the other places you recommended. For entertainment the Shamrock Irish pub was my favourite venue. I did some filming there for my TH-cam channel Jpmarn Video which I hope to put out over the winter and I will be recommending your channel on any of my videos covering my trip to Benidorm.
Lee, when i went to Lanzarote last Feb. There were people who got a 3 month rental in the self catering apartments we were in. Dec/jan/feb. Same reason cheaper than staying home. Also means these complexes can keep staff year round. Win win. There was 40 apartments pool etc. I felt a bit silly going hone to the cold and working. They had it sussed. They did it every year.
Just a thought Lee,due to the current storm over parts of the UK and the flooding around the Sutton/Kirkby and Mansfield areas would or can you attempt to drive an electric milk float through flood water as you can normally if not to bad?
You cant beat a nice walk down the prom to the old town (dodging those mobility scooters along the way😂) love benidorm shall be back for the 14th time in the new year its that benidorm bug i tell thee lol. Another great video lee onwards!! 👍
tapas does not come on bread. These are pincchos served in the North of Spain. Tapas means small plate of food usually free with drinks. Go up to the Princesa hotel the bar next door free tapas with drinks
