I've been watching your later videos and sometimes I look at the older ones. It is interesting to see how the videos have evolved. I just wanted to say that I can't believe you drove through Winslow Arizona and you never stopped to stand on the corner. Going to have to correct that some day. 🙂 After all, you have the girl and a Ford.
5:54 The convicted criminal was Francisco Xavier Romero (my 6th great grandfather). He was convicted of killing an ox belonging to a Pueblo governor. He was sentenced to two years of exile at the presidio of El Paso. On the way there, it seems he escaped and took up sanctuary inside the church. When the people of Albuquerque found out that Romero held licenses and certifications of being a surgeon, they petitioned the governor to let him stay in Albuquerque and serve out his sentence as their doctor. The governor agreed and allowed Romero to remain in Albuquerque as a doctor and caretaker of the church without pay as his sentence. He was then allowed to return to his original Villa of Santa Cruz in northern New Mexico.
If your hotel is advertising a hot tub and other amenities that you're not getting you can request a drop price for your stay, as those amenities are one of the reasons you were drawn to the facility to begin. 🤔
The flute music you are hearing is not native American. It's one those dang Central/South American pan flute bands that show up at other public events. Their purpose is to sell you CDs. Too bad you didn't take a ride on the Tram. That is probably our #2 tourist attraction behind Balloon Fiesta. The oldest church in the US is San Miguel Mission in Santa Fe, the oldest state capital in the US.
You wanna see real Albuquerque?this was all downtown tourist crap where they usually steal your car, come to what the city calls International District we call it the Warzone and that is real Albuquerque, east end of Central ave.former Route 66.
I love all the old adobe buildings. How beautiful. I was not expecting that from Albuquerque.

I will be. There's a flatbed Ford there on the corner. We gotta take a picture. :)
I appreciate how you visit the historic or CBA of all the cities that you visit.
Church is so peaceful
I like to watch Nicole walk through that old church
I'm following along, way down here in Australia. I don't comment with each video, but I'm tagging along with you.
A beautiful church. Philly has a similarly old church from the 1600 or 1700 in continuous use, Old St Josephs, the first Jesuit church in America.
Cool. Next we’re in Philadelphia, we will for sure check it out.

By chance, did you check out The Range Cafe that was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives?? Really great food.
Now you tell me! We didn’t, but we will when we go through there next time. I love the DDD show!
