I will be honest I have never been a huge fan of that Dodge pickup style but in the same note on a 3ton 4x4 it could not fit it better! Looks great,mean and tough. I am waiting to see the rims painted white and 6x 42.5" 11r20 military tires on it. That is whats going to set it off! Watching you boys old truck videos makes me want a old 1/2ton to cruise. My fist pick would be a 48 Studebaker pickup I think they are the nicest looking pickup made but rare and big money. I also like 65-66 Ford/Merc and 1967 IHC pickup body style. I think I will find a 67 IHC 1/2ton. I have a 65 Buick 401 nailheadand a 4spd that would be a neat old setup. I have been playing with cars for the past 20 years because I found out there way easier to make fast but I have a soft spot for old trucks since I was a baby. We must be wired wrong to enjoy old plain farm trucks over $200k cars but thats fine by me. Out of all my cars nothing puts a smile on face like grabbing gears in my 72 f350 300 six by the farm with my bulldog on a nice day with the windows down. Its weird but its true. I just gave that truck to my buddy Mike to build a car hauler out of. Its going to look awesome fixed up hauling his Studebaker to the track. I never used it anymore and it needed the deck redone so instead of selling it I gave it to him because he will fix it up nice and I will still get to see it and thats worth more to me than a couple bucks. We are going to build the 300 six, refresh everything, Isky cam, 240 head, chevy 6cyl rockers, efi exhaust manifolds, and adapt/cut up a factory 1 barrel intake to allow a 2 barrel off a 400m or 390. Our goal is 200hp 400 ft lbs. Should pull like a stock 1st gen 12 valve its going to be a low rpm torque/ mileage type build. Since its a 65-72 300 six there factory rated at 170hp 300ft lbs so I think buy swaping on a 240 head it will be 9.5:1, 2x 3=1 manifolds, 2 barrel carb, Isky Mile-a-more cam, chevy rockers it should be a big improvement and meet our goal. I bet your buddy knows just how good of a friend he’s got in ya , money isn’t everything, that’s why we love our old junk haha .. and I agree that a 300 six is an amazing motor , very underrated… and go find that Merc your lookin for ! The older I get , the more I realize that you only got so many times to buy something.. just buy it! Haha I appreciate ya buddy! Cheers
