a green or red 74# t5 led will work fine

But why is that light there .. my moms stranded cause that light is on and her key won’t turn…

steering wheel might be locked
pull back the steering wheel and twist and it'll be able to turn the key

I got an 06 wrx, and the top plastic piece is stubborn, os there bolts or anything

How did the barbell cover just slide off I can’t get mine off I’ve tried pulling and turning ?

So idk if you guys figured this out, but newer models (mine is a 2006 impreza) have another two phillips screws holding the top shell on, inside the column accessible from the bottom, after removing the bottom clamshell. After removing them, you should see the top loosen itself.

@@Corvilux did it mate after I removed everything out clusters and steering wheel plastic covers . On the rear side of the ring that faces the pedals there a push clip thing small flat head screw driver under the bottom clip to wiggle it free . Spent a bit of time trying to remove bulb with the ring still on bsrrel can't do it that way my hands r too big lol

The ring pulls away from the ignition assembly, and then once away from the assembly, the bulb socket twists out

@@Corvilux it doesn't pull away easy on a wrx 05 mate . It's on two way clip on the light left and right . U remove right side clip then it comes off

I bought this car used and mine was red. Im trying to figure out if it comes as a red led from the factory or if its a non led red? I dont want to buy a red led just to find out that the brightness didn't change

@@ninomalo5193 unfortunately i didn't, so i just removed the bulb and called an electrician, he stated "it's very likely that it's a wiring issue" $120 an hour so... that's why it's not fixed lol

If yours has a led bulb , it might be just the polarity.
