Sabaidee and welcome to my channel....Now in Lao!!
My name is Todd and i am an Australian currently living in Laos with my wife, Neenee.

Forgotten utube subs? We were the ones that helped you when you where getting started. Now your a big shot we have to sign up to patrion to get the extras?
You're not missing out on anything that you've always gotten from my channel. It's still free on TH-cam. I spend between 40 to 60 hours a week, every week editing those TH-cam videos that you can watch.. and I do appreciate you watching, liking and commenting, but that still doesn't pay the bills that it costs to keep a channel like this alive.
Patreon is for those who like to help the channel financially. To keep those TH-cam videos coming. Helping with other things also like batteries, memory cards, hard drives etc. Not to mention help with the donations we purchase before every trip to give to the most needy in Laos.
So, no. I haven't forgotten my "utube" subs. Nothing has changed, you still get all my videos for free. What I have done though is created a Patreon page at the request of some of my Subscribers so they could help with what we do also, and for their contribution yes, they get "extras".
How is this unfair to you?
@@NowinLaoI saw other channels in Vietnam hire locals to teach them to do editing and get into media. You can pay them decent amount for Laos people but you teach them and make them inquisitive. Just a thought.
@@jesuisrobert808 "make them inquisitive". Think Lao people are capable and inquisitive enough.
Vientiane has changed so much since I was country manager from 2007 and when I was a kid during the 1960’s. It will continue to change regardless of those of us complaining about it. Embrace it and adapt, I did.
You are living the dream my friend. I could not agree more. Enjoy the trip. No need to work. Work when you return. Enjoy.
I remember Vientiane 20+ years ago - a nice place to ride a bicycle. Now the traffic looks terrible! I moved a few years ago to live in Luang Prabang, much quieter, slow traffic, life is easy :)
You have got to live your life to the fullest. You don't want to run out of time. You got it right Todd. Looking forward to your next adventure. All the best👍👍 Jim and Harriet
I agree. I’m past retirement age and I’m still working. Gives me a purpose to get up every day. Without my wife around anymore, I’d go insane just sitting around. Coworkers look at me like I’m crazy because they are retiring as soon as they meet the requirements. I figure the ball is in my court. When the time comes that I need to step down, my retirement benefits will be at max. Cheers and have a safe trip.
What a coincidence to have met you both in Laug Prabang. Eating in a restaurant, you both popped in for a look, shook hand and left. Hi from Canada.
Hey Todd, you keep up with the motorbikes and know the short cuts. Well done. Nev
Always enjoy these rides. Good stuff.👍
Thanks for showing us around, love the insight of what is happening in Vientiane.
🤗🙏🏼!
Enjoyed the ride, thank you.
Have a safe trip.
totally cool ..really enjoyed the tour and ride..ty..xoxo 🥰👍✌🖐🤟🤪
I enjoyed the video very much. Thanks!
Good morning Todd Enjoy the bike ride keep up the great work 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice bicycle path view and comments. Thanks.
Great Job as always 👏
Living the dream is the way to go.
Enjoy your trip
Hi Todd, hey we're absolutely busting to get across the border here to you. We so wanna come say hi, chat all things Laos and travel a bit in one of our most heartfelt countries. For now though, we're enjoying your vlogs.
Thanks for keeping me up with Laos. Miss it so much. Happy to have my beautiful Laos dog with me in Brisbane though.
Fantastic mate
Thanks for that always a amazing seeing how u get around
I was puffed I had to pause twice because of cramp
Lol
👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺
Wherever you go or wherever you live are my paradise because I love to watch your vlog and presentation.
You have plenty of long term options in Laos - as you say , enjoy and make the most of every day , yes - enjoying the random trips around Vientiane 👌🙏👍👋
I couldn’t agree with you more about taking day by day in Laos. I kind of like it that way. Here in the states, we are planning way too much imo.
The streets of Vientiane are reasonably clean which is good.
Spot on with the traffic dodging advice and the help of a horn if in any danger Too easy campese.
Hi Todd I do love your bike rides, but it scares me with the traffic 😂
At about 24:21 you were with 1block of our house.Crazy to see you go by.
Thanks for giving me an outlet to my stressful job in Australia. I wish I could take it day by day and not think too far ahead like yourself, but it’s hard to do that in my line of work. You have a new subscriber mate
Cheers mate, thanks. Hope you can find yourself in a less stressful position in the not too distant future. Have a good one 🍺
I have to make a plan and come visit you someday when I come back to pick up my wife this year.
That ride looks a little nerve racking to me. Thanks Todd for taking us along on your travels today. Lots of rules broken on that ride. Yea don't retire, take slow Canadians on tours of Laos. Hahaha Cheers mate!! Hi Neenee!!!❤❤
Make sure put on full protecting gear and watching for the drunk driving too
Todd you have too much fun huh!
You must be in great shape. I think you passed more cars that were passed by, without gasping for air. Well done. Enjoy your next trip, looking forward to the vidies.
Had a good tail wind Bill 😉
@@NowinLao HaHa! Both ways?
I recognized areas we walked and rode when we visited Vientiane in May.
Looks cooler than we remember 😂
Lol.. rain season now. May is one of the hottest months here 🥵
What you're doing now and your long-term plans are a lot like my dream retirement, except with Central Coastal VN as our home base.
Was there almost 15 years.. will always be my 2nd home.
😁 6:26 + 22:26 Azalea parkview Hotel. Quite a nice place for the price, but I wish the whole building was aircon and not just the room. Got sweaty just going down from the pool to the room!
Also, for a place called the Azalea, it was weirdly chock full of camelias.😂
Love the bike rides! especially with a map!
Keeping up with the traffic on the treadly.. You guessed it , I'm an aussie Toddmeister... lol. Safe travels buddy...
Cheers mate!
Well done mate...I should be in Laos in October to live the dream too ...I'll be in Savannakhet so maybe can catch up one day ...take care
Have a beer and chat would be gooood 🍻
All the best mate
@@NowinLao Beer Lao...my favourite beer 🍺
A+
retiring you have more time to do what you want to do when you want to am retired and its good have a lot more time for what ever mate
I retired last week and have plenty of things on the to do list! Coming back to Laos for Boun That Luang this year I think!
Is your bike e assist or human powered only?
Quietly approve you, Todd. As told before your are a" pioneer " riding bike in Vientiane. Just an advice : have an helmet ( if you have no one). Knowing your "fighting spirit" wouldn't be a good idea : contact Vientiane municipality and let them give the trend for using more safety biking for Vientiane's inhabitants.
Let Budda bless you. Sathu, Sathu, Sathu. 😂
Always a helmet 👌🪖
Having a Laos girlfriend I totally understand the no planning, it took me awhile to get used to it. Love your outlook on life.
You are so brave to ride bicycle in Laos.
Todd are you riding an E bike..cos looks like it's moving very fast and you're not breathing hard at the same time as you are cycling 😄and vlogging..
Not an Ebike Vernon, just an ol' school mountain bike 😉
Also, there's a mall ( of sorts) out by the friendship bridge. The lower income families shop at .its on the right as you approach the border exit/entrance. Maybe NeeNee is familiar with it and could guide you to it better. Sorry my dude.😅😅😅
Anyway you might do a video of that for deals on things rather than the malls in the center of town. If you're looking for content. (And if there are any deals to be had anymore ).
Todd , I’m a subscriber but a irregular watcher , does Née Née still have that popular restaurant,
Peter , Qld Mackay
Hi Peter, she does but it's closed at the moment. Not sure if we're going to reopen or rent it out 🤔
Todd,
If you dont mind, maybe do a video on the NEW foriegn registration building location. I can never find my way and my wife has given up on me. She's tried driving me over twice now and fed up with it.😂it's way out in the boondocks and the tuk-tuk drivers are taking advantage of the foreigners so I've been told. When the moved a tuk-tuk driver offered to take me for 175,000. That sounded a bit excessive to me.
You mean the new immigration building? Already one step ahead of ya mate 😉 th-cam.com/video/giNaFCGWVzk/w-d-xo.html
curious what you think of danang vietnam or chiangmai thailand, vs vientiane laos.
make a video?
Never been to either, sorry
Good 👍 discussion it goes without saying that you are loving everything and sharing that special union of life that us guys find comfort in.
Sharing your videos connects you to the other world...cheers.
😎👍
I a long time cyclist in California.. I'm watching you ride in disbelief, You are one brave rider.. LoL.. I've ridden the entire coast of California.. They vehicle wouldn't be a kind to you as the Laos drivers are.. ! Be careful I've been hot by a car its not fun..!
Hi mate. I'm am Aussie living on a Retirement Visa in Nongkhai, Thailand. Been on this Visa since 2020 here. Just got back about a week ago after visiting Laos for 7 days and found it a beautiful country and some amazingly welcoming people. (a little less developed and definitely poorer than Thailand though). What are your thoughts on what is the better country to retire in? I know that's a very generalised and wide-ranging question but would love your pros and cons on living in Laos long term verses Thailand.
Hey mate.. if I had experience living in Thailand I'd be well qualified to answer that, but I've only ever done a couple of road trips there.
I do have a video of a guy who has lived in both and Cambodia, where he gives an honest opinion.. th-cam.com/video/5jR9U_aM3Lo/w-d-xo.html
What's the homelessness like in Laos, is it bad? Or is it mostly concentrated in the metro areas.
🎉
💯🔥💙👍
Brother your brave I won't drive a bicycle on the roads in Vientiane. Buy the ticket take the ride. Even walking is an adventure.
Hahaha, we always rode motorbikes, even back when the roads were dust. Nah a bike's the way to go.
You can't walk here @djmcrory, the cars are parked on the footpath 😝
I like to collect silver coins where would you say best place to get them some shops do not lije to sell
Wondering if Todd is riding an electric bike ,I cant get a good view to see the bike .
Aww come on Bruce.. give me a bit of credit mate! Here's my deadly treadly here.. th-cam.com/video/gqSQ2swtJ4c/w-d-xo.html
15:05 I think I would have "Pissed my pants" if your treadley had been flogged mate !!!!!!!
I have just found out , my Thai wife and the locals actually speaks Lao , 3 hours drive from Laos , in Isaan . And she wouldn't let me ride a pushbike , or a scooter , no way ......... 😂
Haha Neenee never liked the idea of me riding at first either 😆
👍👍👍🙏
is your bike electric ? hello from vegas.
Ol' school pedals
What No Uncle Tobies !!!!
Haven't found em here. This is all I've been able to get onto
Interesting video! Due to your experience with this beautiful country I have a question and would like to know your opinion about it. I'm from europe and found a lao girlfriend by online-dating. We want to meet, finally made out some plans to go to Luang prabang but somehow i read about this "family law". Is it safe to meet her in Laos If i book a hotel for us for vacation or will this bring me into trouble? I heard about hotelraids and jail for foreigners who date lao citizen. I'm afraid this will lead to an end of my relationship. Thanks in advance.
Away from her home village where nobody knows her you'll be fine.. if staying in her hometown be sure to stay in guesthouse by yourself, do not stay at her house.
👌
@@NowinLao thank you so much for your opinion. Seems like i can enjoy good times with her and start some kind of life. She explained me something about Naiban like district headmen that won't execute about law if its not in their district where shes from. Do you think the immigration cares about my hotelbooking and mind her name on it? Best regards, thank you one more time for sharing your experience.🖤
@@owntYAableHow are things working out for you and your gf now?
Why don’t you have a gym at the restaurant plenty of room at the side to have a building to make a gym, be it for yourself or for others to be members .
Kinda like, having a beer at home or one at the pub with friends.
It costs very little to go to the gym here, from less than a dollar US a workout. To set a gym up with all that good equipment I can use very cheaply at the gym would set me back tens of thousands $$.
I've had home gyms before.. and still never used them. Too many distractions at home. At a good gym you're there for one reason. Train! That's what works for me 😉
Plus it's getting me out.. don't want to be stuck at home all the time 😉
@@NowinLao yes good point , you won , I lost , but it’s the taking part that counts , didn’t realise it was so cheap at the gym , I do very much like your videos while you’re on the bike , tend to see and feel the place more so, pity you don’t take the bikes on your trips and do tours around where you guy’s visit, don’t think you’ve ever done a video like that, I may be wrong but I think you’ve only done video on bike where you live , would like to say well done for what you both do for the less fortunate, two nice souls you are.
Thanks Kavan.. and I'd like to add that you are right. It's the taking part that counts. I've always said that a shit workout is better than no workout at all 👌
@@NowinLao Feels like I’ve been wading through shit all my life , unbeknown all this time really I was doing a workout.
🇦🇺🍻🙏
Is there no gym closer to your house?😅
Yeah.. I like riding 😆
Gopro??
10 😉
Ok, tanks

You are retired from regular work but not from living life to the fullest. Rock on.
Today you lived a very dangerous life riding a bicycle. At least you made it out alive. Hahaha. However not as dangerous as that guy with little girl on moped (no helmets) be safe please...
I got cramps in my legs just watching.
