An almost forgotten piece of history, remembering the unplanned truce on Christmas Eve (1914) during WWI, enemy soldiers fraternised. War had stopped for a few hours while German, French and Scottish soldiers celebrated Christmas Eve in the trenches. This song expresses the longing of the lonesome soldier, "dreaming of home" while so far away at war in a foreign land. This song brings together both Remembrance Day and Christmas Day.
