The camping story is way too cute! I can confirm retro gaming is a total blast with youngsters in the family. I love being the cool uncle with the hidden gem videogames! tysm your videos are super cozy and heartwarming, ty for sharing your passion.
oh wow the lilo and stitch footage blasted me back in time! I forgot that game existed despite pouring so much time into it as a kid. Thank you for reintroducing us ❤ time to fire up my retroid!
i bought a miyoo mini plus as my first handheld bc of one of your videos, and the first game i played was ham ham heartbreak. i was so curious as to why people weren’t talking about it. i absolutely love it so much and i am so glad you featured it here considering your videos are what brought me to retro gaming
Great list of Hidden Gems! Little nostalgic story for the Hamtaro Ham Ham Heartbreak GBA: Back when I was like maybe 9 or something my cousins visited us for summer break and spent some weeks at our home. One of them had the Hamtaro GBA game. I initially wasn't that interested, because I was a stereotypical boy and mostly played fighting games like Street Fighter or Final Fight One. After the weeks had passed my cousins had to go back home. One day later, we received a call, it was my cousing asking us if she had forgotten her Hamtaro game at our place. Luckily, the game was with us and not lost. I remember vividly that summer break, my older sister was always hogging the GBA (we only had one) and was playing the Hamtaro game. At first, I was really annoyed, but later on she showed me the game and she was basically let's playing the game in front of me. When I had to go back to school again, the other kids were of course talking about their crazy vacations they made, but to me the Hamataro experience was one of my dearest summer break memories.
These are my favorite videos. The best games on each retro system. I just got my miyoo mini plus from you link w onion os already on the SD. Thank you for that. Subbed.
I'm gifting a flipzizzle to a family member as a birthday gift soon. I've been putting together best of lists, to make it a little easier to find something to play. It's a little overwhelming to look at all of the retro games, across generations of systems.
To get started buy a reputable micro SD card, 64GB is fine. Then internet search "tiny best set go". Unfortunately the cards they come with are prone to fail frequently
You've got to be kidding me, Dweeb. Literally at the exact moment you uploaded this video I was going through best-of-GBA lists. Get out of my brain! P.S.: Much love 💙
Dude I kid you not, I thought the same exact thing. I was about to look up videos on that topic and I saw his on my feed lol. DWEEB, since this is your favorite console, I ask you please make more videos of your favorite GBA games, I see the title says "More", but your "Hidden gems" playlist only has one GBA video. I'd be willing to see all of the GBA games you play, the console is becoming my favorite recently too.
•My favorite hidden gem is Ninja-Cop, or as it was labeled in the US. Ninja-5.0. If you’ve never heard of it, you must play it. Also, the •Fairly Odd Parents Breaking Da Rules game is amazing if you liked Lilo and Stitch. •Another great one is Tetris Advance. It was a Japan exclusive and as the blocks fall and you keep doing better, a little band forms and starts making music that progressively gets better as time goes on. •There’s a fun cozy game called Sheep. Where you play is a little sheep dog. Those are just a few off the top of my head.
As a word game buff, Bookworm is a go-to of mine. I used to play it on my phone back in the day. I had looked it up last year, and I was saddened to find out that Pop Cap took it off of the Google Play store. However, I came across the GBA cartridge, and sure enough, I was happy. It didn’t have all of the animations of the PC or smartphone versions, or the worm’s voice, but it had everything else that I loved about Bookworm.
There are also two RPG Bookworm games that released for PC back in the day called Bookworm Adventures, sadly EA delisted the games on Steam but it is still possible to get the physical copies on eBay or download it for free on the Internet Archive thanks to its abandonware status.
GBA was an epic system. I remember I had gba sp that looked like NES. It is lost to time now who knows where it is. Thanks for the list definitely going to check some of them out.
Developed by the team that made Donkey Kong on the GB and ported Mother 1+2 in the GBA. No wonder it's got some quality. I noticed Iwata on the picture his niece sent.
I like how you speak, good sir. It made this video extra pleasant. Thank you. Seriously, are you a writer or something? The story about your cousin was super sweet, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video Tech Dweeb, your best of videos always have a really good selection! It was cool to see that Lilo and Stitch game. IMO Lilo & Stitch was *horrendously* underutilised when it comes to video games; Stitch looks like a platformer mascot, and the first movie gave him a brilliant 'moveset' to use, then the TV series gave him *even more* abilities, and don't get me started on the countless puzzles and gameplay styles the other experiments (Stitch's relatives) could be used for! And to top it off, Hawaii (the series' location, hence the pineapples) makes for a really nice setting to put it all in
I was literally talking to my partner the other day about the GBA being the pinnacle. Mostly we were talking about the art though. The restraints of the screen size but then the incredible art they made on it (Minish Cap has some incredible scenery). Anyways thanks for some new games to check out!
Your description of you and the Hamtaro game almost brought a tear to my eye. This game is definitely going on my nieces handheld and I'll be trying it with them!
I appreciate how you ensure that the games on this list also appeal to people who are used to playing more modern games. P.S. that Lilo and Stitch game is a blast🤩
Onimusha Tactics, Super Robot Wars A, R, D, J, original generations 1 and 2 are the best tactics game in the console. Very, very underrated. Gundam Seed Destiny Battle Assault and Sonic Battle underrated fighting game Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and Summon night 1 and 2, very underrated action rpgs
Love this. Always looking for more stuff to play that's new to me. I Never heard of Bookworm before this, but now I'm addicted and I've been playing it everyday because of this video.
That's a great story about the hamster game. That is exactly how these retro gaming should go (i think), rather than just member-berries, but showing kids what it was like in the flintstones age.
Hamtaro! I used to watch the animated show every morning when I was like 4. I named my first hamster Hamtaro. This game seems as lovely as the story you've shared. What an awesome cousin! She's lucky to have you and so are we :)
You made me want to play and rewatch Lilo&Stitch 🥰 Some suggestions for you although I don't know if theyr're so hidden but: 1. Anime fighting games = Digimon Battle Spirit 1 and 2, Rave Master Special Attack Force, Medabots AX games 2. RPGs (actoin and turnbased) = Kingdom Hearts Chains of Memories, Medabots (no AX version) games 3. Action/Arcade : Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith 4. Castlevania-like: Shaman King Master of Spirits 1 and 2 Also an extra would be Sonic Battle, mainstream brand but few people played this game.
The Hamtaro story is so sweet, and the first dungeon crawler game you showed looks like something I'll have to try! If I were to recommend anything, I feel like no one talks about Bomberman Tournament. I've been playing it recently and it's a Neutopia/Zelda-like Bomberman game, with elements of Pokemon, too! It's something that probably never should have worked but it's pretty intriguing and pops on my 2DS screen!
I never would have thought to give that Lilo & Stitch game a try, but wow it looks good! I have only ever seen the film once as a kid, and even then I was not that into it. I'm going to get around to playing that sometime, and giving the film another chance. Thank you actually!
I just picked up my gba yesterday to play some Astroboy. I was looking for other games to play on gba, and here’s a new dweeb video. For the record, I haven’t played any Disney games that were easy.
I always reccomend Gadget racers and turbo turtle adventures, first is a gba mario kart/twisted medal racer and the 2nd is a really addictive cutsie puzzle game, end up exploring the level trying to find all the keys to the exits than race yourself for a best time
I got the first Gameboy Advance and I always thought the games deserved to be on the big screen either on the SNES or a SNES II (I have always preferred pixel graphic games). The original GBA had you sitting in weird places to get the best light for the screen. When the GCube got the Gameboy attachment and the new GBA's came out the games got the screens they deserved. One system that gets overlooked is the Gameboy with the Black & White screen; it made Gameboy games very sharp and it was slim.
HAMTARO!!!!! ❤ just played this series again for retro achievements sake! RA completion tip for ham ham heartbreak, don’t give up your marbles or bridge mats before you collect them all - so the achievements actually trigger! 😅
Man! It may be my nostalgia talking, but Lilo & Stitch is up there as one of the best animation movies I ever watched, and for sure it's not your usual Disney movie. You need to watch it!
Wing commander prophecy kind of blew my mind when i found it. I missed out on the original wing commander games but i always loved the idea of them, and played some of the newer (relatively speaking) ones, like wing commander 4. But prophecy on the gba felt like such a throwback to the original 2 games, but actually even better having 3d rendered fighters. Its infuriatingly difficult late in the game, but having a proper space shooter on the gba is pretty amazing to me
Idk why but I just find it really cool out of all people who could have been in the credits when your niece sent you that picture, she took a pic when Iwata's name came up. Absolute legend and I didn't know he worked on that game. (Miyamoto too, apparently!)
Hamtaro was a slice of life anime about a group of hamsters and their owners. I remember watching it when it came on after school circa 2001. If my memory serves I watched it on Toonami at my grandparents when that was an afterschool program block.
Lilo and Stitch was a great run and gun game. There was a sequel on gba too but it much more focused on the puzzle platforming than the metal slug like portions that were in the first game. Still a decent follow up worth checking out too.
Man this is my favorite Dweeb series for sure. Thanks for sharing more GBA games! Quick question: I'm currently playing retro games on the goat RGB30, would you recommend playing mazes of fate on GBA or would it be better to play on the DS rom? PS: I don't remember if you've recommended this one, but Klonoa The Empire of Dreams was one of my favorite games on the system. Have a good one!
Thanks! I'd go with the GBA version because it's the same game (graphics aren't as nice I guess), however the DS version required touchscreen controls. That's why I usually don't like to emulate DS games, because doing touchscreen stuff or swapping screens isn't as nice as when the games were designed for single screen.
Konami Krazy Racers. Unpopular opinion, aka my opinion... this game is better than Mario Kart on the GBA. The soundtrack is phenomenal, the characters are distinctive, and the courses are far more unique than MK:SC's attempts. Best racing game on the GBA. And the opening video's music will be stuck in your head for hours...
Man, lovely selection. I'm getting the Powkiddy V10 soon so really excited to try GBA games on it so this vid is very welcome :)) Lilo & Stitch looks pretty fun and man, finally someone mentioning a Hamtaro game. I had Hamtaro: Rainbow Rescue and I loved it so much. Cheers :))
I'd recommend looking into Gekido Advance: Kintaro's Revenge. It's a game that's got level design problems, but it's also so damn cool to me at the same time. The KOF inspired pixel art and animation of the main character looks so awesome and it's just a fascinating beat em up. It even got a modern re-release.
I saw one of the Hamtaro games in a Nintendo Power magazine some 20 years ago and loved the artstyle. I forgot about it until some years ago, so I got it and it was such a cute game. As with most 90's japanese franchises, there's also a GBC one.
This list is a lot better than the last list. A handful of recommendations are. CIMA: The Enemy Sigma Star Saga Car Battler Joe Lady Sia Scurge Hive Yggdra Union
those suggestions are already on a lot of hidden gem-lists, though. i really appreciate that the dweep hit us with mazes of fate, bookworm and a couple of licensed games that flew under the radar
Your video put me in a better mood than I was in before I watched it. I'm really unhappy because my brother kicked me out of his house not my fiance and I that is. And he kept my cat. Libby. I really love my cat. But, even though I could probably take her back. Our health is not very good she's been living in my brother's house since I got her. In fact 4th of July was her 10th birthday. So I've been out without my cat for almost a year now not I miss her a lot. But know that even if things were better. She probably not be happy in a small apartment when she has a whole house to roam through. Hopefully your brother hasn't taken any of your pets tech dweeb. Thanks for lightning the load for me.
Love your vids. As a fellow SP owner, I do want to know: How do you feel about the 640x480 resolution? It's great for my PS1 nostalgia, but the GBA doesn't neatly scale to that.

I saw one of the Hamtaro games in a Nintendo Power magazine some 20 years ago and loved the artstyle. I forgot about it until some years ago, so I got it and it was such a cute game. As with most 90's japanese franchises, there's also a GBC one.
Bro your content is always good 👍🏿
Gekido Advance is a beautiful GBA beat em up. also T.M.N.T. has great pixel art.
I'll check out Gekido Advance. Thanks for that!
This list is a lot better than the last list.
A handful of recommendations are.
CIMA: The Enemy
Sigma Star Saga
Car Battler Joe
Lady Sia
Scurge Hive
Yggdra Union
Most of those are already on my list of upcoming games to show!
@@TechDweeb 😁👍
those suggestions are already on a lot of hidden gem-lists, though.
i really appreciate that the dweep hit us with mazes of fate, bookworm and a couple of licensed games that flew under the radar
Astro Boy: Onega Factor. Not just because I’m a diehard Astro Boy fan but because it’s actually a legit good game too
100%
That's rough buddy. Glad I could be a bright spot in your day. Chin up, better days ahead 🤓
Love your vids. As a fellow SP owner, I do want to know: How do you feel about the 640x480 resolution? It's great for my PS1 nostalgia, but the GBA doesn't neatly scale to that.
Not bad if you use the pixellate shader to help with pixel scaling.
The FlipZizzle is my favourite Zizzle.

I have really fond memories of playing Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction on my GBA has a kid. Its a little jank, but you can have some fun!
Wow four of these I’ve never tried and added to my list immediately. Hamtaro was the hidden gem I already played. I wish they made more like it.
OG Popcap mentioned. Insaniquarium was the best haha
never been so early to a video
Notification crew ASSEMBLE!
You already put out so much content, but if you could make this like a weekly series that would be sweeeet.
I wish I could!
I wasn't expecting that blockbuster cologne intro lol
