This is perfect for the rc boat project I want to do! I’m going to build a 32” center console and I wanted outboards but don’t like the look or the price of the ones I see online. I’ll be making two of these outboards for my project for sure!

i printed two different motor's on their sides with custom supports with no issue, but gonna try it this way too lol

Hey Ethan did you make up a matchin motor mount for the stern ?I'm printing the tunnel hull now and the motor next.
Yes! Files are available in several places! The mount is pretty simple and can be attahed to any boat. You can also design your own mount for custom applications. Use the one I designed as a guide!

I'm having trouble printing the cowl. 'The model is not watertight' is the error i receive while slicing in cura, and the cowl will split in two parts if i print it anyways. Any insights on this?
Solved! Looks like Cura has a hard time with high-resolution STL files. Here is a lower resolution STL for the cowl: drive.google.com/file/d/17eXmL4jc5rYS1Lyx-HTjuISjIcVgrwcl/view?usp=drive_link
I just tested it in Cura and it recgnized it as 1 solid piece.

Exelent job...Somebody know the gears used for this project?, I had some plastic in home but they didnt work because touch the housing part? I use s163a and is to big for this project. again super and beautiful job.

What other motor do you recommend for that outboard motor? (I can't get the one you use😢) Your video is great, I loved it!
I think the motors from Hobbywing are pretty nice! it just has to be a 3650 or 3652 size motor!
I have tried these settings, and about 10 variations... It prints as smooth as butter for about the first 70 to 80 layers. Then it separates. I let it keep going once, and after a few layers, it caught back up to itself and finished the print. I've tried everything I can think of, tried checking other peoples settings, same result. Any ideas???? Badass motor by the way!!! I want one so bad I can taste it!!!!

how about adding a linear screw mount /ajust plate so you can rasie the leg on the fly
That would be sick. I have thought of making a trim mechanism with an extra servo. Could you imagine having live adjustable trim?

@Jacob Miller I think it's 5mm shaft 5x8 or 5x10 bearings and some china 5mm bevel cut gears I just don't know the ratio. Wish he would put the list out so I can build this old Nitro boat iv been sitting on for years and run it this summer
@@MeadorRacing69 I do know its a one to one gear ratio. I just printed mine and it looks to be 3mm shaft and has multiple sized bearings. just difficult to find beveled gears that fit in the gear box.
