I saw David Bowie 3 times. '91, '97 and '04. The last song of the encore in '04 was ZIGGY STARDUST. The band came to the front of the stage after it ended and took their bows with the man. He smiled and waived at us as the ovation got louder and louder. I turned away and ran up the stairs to beat the crowd. That was the last time I saw him.
Gotcha beat . I saw Bowie do the original Ziggy Stardust Tour at the Hollywood Palladium and later at Long Beach Arena because I had to take my friends to see blow mind act !

I was born in 2007, so sadly I discovered this man after he died. I only wish I could live long enough to thank him the impact he has had on my life. In the last few years, I’ve struggled with who I am and my purpose in life. I felt like everyone judged me when I wasn’t around. David Bowie changed my life, he not only introduced me to a world of music beyond anything I could imagine, but he made me feel better about my place in the world. I’m sure this is a feeling shared by so many of you, and I hope you find the happiness you need. Now we come together on this to the birth of the greatest rockstar to ever live. Happy Birthday David, and thank you.
50 years ago, I was in the audience for Ziggys final show, and to see these clips come up brings back such joy for me, of an amazing night in musical history 😊🎉
In the 1980s I was the weird kid in school, I spent lunchtime talking to the Dinnerladies, or reading a fantasy novel. In the 90s I found Bowie's back catalogue - having fallen in love watching Labyrinth. In y early twenties I came to understand that I wasn't just the weird kid, I was the queer kid. In my 30's my heart broke, along with millions of others. And our hearts were broken, because throughout his career, Bowie was the artist (and a true artist, at that) that held out is hand to the weird kids, the queer kids, the displaced kids, and he said "come with me, and you'll never be alone". Now in my 40s, I begin trialling medication for ADHD tomorrow, and this video could not have been more perfectly delivered to my subs. Because whilst he doesn't walk amongst us, you can bet he will be holding the hand of this weird, queer, not all here kid as they start out on a new adventure. Thank you Sir, for everything.
Its fascinating to watch him. He was always very flash and had great stage presence. The camera always followed him but I wish they would show more of Mick Ronson.
This is probably one of the most magical moments in music history. I am so so glad this was recorded and I can sit here in 2024 as a 37 year old watching it. This is the type of performance that makes me feel nostalgic for a time I haven't even been alive at.
I think back to my 50+ years on the earth, and I struggle to think of any other soul who resonated as much. He was unique, troubled, gifted, and blessed-cursed at once. He was the visitor who held the mirror. RIP David - and thank you. Again and again
You should have been there. They were awesome. I was 4 ft from the stage for most of the concert, when the girl in front of me got pulled up on stage, I was right in front, jammed in by folk all around. The atmosphere was electric. Such memories 😍🎶🎸
