Textbook tactics by UAE ft. Sir Bradley Wiggins | Tour De France 2024 Stage 14 | THEMOVE
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 12 ก.ค. 2024
- THEMOVE discusses the strength of UAE vs. the minimal support Jonas has at his disposal, Matteo Jorgensen can only do so much. Tomorrows stage looks to be even more difficult than todays. The guys also address the rumors circulating regarding Remco Evenepoel making a team change.

Vinregaard did not have a bad day pogicar was just to good today …. Chapeau to them both
TOO.
Pogacar had the best performance of 21st century 😮
@@kubackjeee crap froome Giro 2018 winning a stage and giro by far is best performance
It was climb that hasn't suit Jonas. I think in tomorrow's stage he's gonna atack Pogi, much harder stage and steeper climbs. But chapeau to both of them
Lance, can you tell the story about when a German spat on you, so you decided to not allow a German rider win the stage? I heard the story years ago but cannot remember the details….
By the way. Love you guys and love the show!
The quality of the discussion is now beyond anything on the internet. 👏🏼
Brad is super intelligent! His level of detail is incredible!
He sure is proud of that Sir title
@@lancairw867 He is not that bothered but LA and GH like saying it !
@@lancairw867 You missed Bradley's comments on that "sir" title the other day. He said "it's three $king letters, who cares".
@@carbonking53 good to hear. I was thinking he made sure everyone calls him that, probably Lance likes saying it. 😆
Did he say anything?
Love that Wiggins is there with you. Appreciate his comments, contributions.
He's bore to tears, he rather enjoy English humor. 😂
He just needs to speak in the mic
He's very frustrated with lance being lance

[Additional trivia: Lance seems to have forgotten about his incident in the 2009 Tour of California on Palomar Mountain, when he was riding for Astana. A "fan" with a giant syringe prop was running alongside the peloton and got a bit too close for comfort. Lance grabbed him with one hand and dispatched him into a nearby snowbank. 😂 True story. Look it up.]

Ah, at least one comment references that LA is the GOAT when it comes to cheating.
Watched the video you linked to re: 2009 TdF and syringe fan - LA did grab him and throw him into the snow bank while riding his bike and keeping his place lol😂
@@maddexq9107 Armstrong is 5ft 9 and at the time weighed 70 kgs , tough on a bike yes but tough off it no
Visma said that Jonas didn’t have a bad day. Got to agree, I think everyone was at their limit today and put up great numbers.
I'll miss Bradley. Please stay until the end!
7:54 glasses are off

Every day Wiggo is on the show is a good day, support from 🇳🇿
Agree 100% I love this guy! He'd make a great permanent addition without any doubt.
Feels like pogi’s performance is under appreciated . Watts/kg has been one of the best ever. Vingegaard did not have a bad day per his own words and numbers. Maybe hindered by prep but we are witnessing some of the best bike performances ever. I feel grateful to try appreciating such performances
Cool
i rode tourmalet to st. lary soulor yesterday before the stage and it was a greasy mess. the ride up to Pia d’Adet today was amazingly clear.
Bradley Wiggins is the man! Ups and downs, but in the end he will be the winner
Thanks for having Sir Bradly on the channel 👍
I absolutely love Lance and George’s friendship. Very cool
Jonas did not have bad day. According to some his fotness level is even higher then last year... But the biggest difference here is Pogacar with nuclear shape. According to laterne rouge website todays final climb was his career best performance and best performance od the 21st century in the whole world of cycling 😮😮😮
Sad that they spent 10 minutes promoting affiliate products, but fail to do some research and analyse the insane numbers that were put up yesterday. I fail to enjoy this podcast unfortunately, to little data analysis, a little bit to much gut feelings.
Today Pogi GOTCHA!!
🤙🤙🇸🇮💛🇫🇷
You guys underestimated the potency of the spontaneous Pogi attack. That's what racing's all about!
george is too affected with cheering for vingegaard
Tomorrow is a much harder stage.
@@jono1457-qd9ft its not much harder but it’s definetely harder..2 minutes is quite a lot so visma have to do something, but as we can see they dont look so good like years before
@@froloplays7143it’s longer, harder and it’s hot. It’s a 45min final climb. Pog needs to stay close till final 3-4km when it flattens out. Acheive that Jonas is “hoping” he cracks….
@@michaelgriffiths305 do you realy think that jonas can crack pogacar with this visma team? pogacar has to have one of his worst day for this to happen…
People underestimate how hard UAE made everyone ride on Stage 11. I think Jonas had a bit extra on that stage because he was proving to himself he could recover from his accident. All the respect to Jonas, but he's not as strong as he was last year. Still a good tour.
My theory into what's happening is that Jones's new mustache is causing aero drag and slowing him down. :)
To win the race in classic Vingegaard fashion, namely by wearing down Pogacar, requires a team that is able to put hard pressure on Pogacar before the final climp - instead Visma left the Tourmalet, to UAE big man Nils Politt !! Team strength and Kuss are missed..
On point comment
Jonas performing this good after that crash in April is amazing.
Wiggins knowing the history shows how much of a fan of the sport. Love this
Not sure why this turned into the pro-jonas show. The talk after the stage a couple days ago was WILD. Outside of 15km in this race, Pogi has looked like and been the strongest rider. This race is nothing like the last two years. Pogacar is gonna end up winning this race by over 3min. The elastic is going to snap.
specially george is too subjective, lance si quite realistic, bradley too…not so sure about 3 minutes, but it’s looking good for pogacar
Agreed - very pro Jonas..
@@LadyBird-n2t Well why not? Imagine how boring the race would be without Jonas?
“Outside of 15km” do you know how this race works? Literally the stupidest comment I’ve yet seen this year. “Outside of all the times he’s been bad, he’s been good” yeah no s h i t. Also, BEING BROKEN AT THE END OF A CLIMB IS WHERE YOU GAIN TIME. Ffs “oh, except for one hill tadej has been fine” genius
He's the 2 time defender coming off a much worse injury than Pogi's last year...FACT...people love the underdog.
Question for Bradley:
We often hear about you guys talk about pro's "holding form," and typically peak form lasts a short amount of time.
I would be curious to find out how Brad wheld his form throughoutt 2012.
In my opinion, its probably one f the most impressivet seasons by one individusal (I think he won every TT that he did, with the exception of the TDF opening prologue, which Fabian won). Would be very interested to hear Brad's thought on this!
The whole world njoys and loves how tadej races so that you cannot understand why 😂 hileeeerious
We don't enjoy when he lost 2 tours in a row making the same mistakes.
He has to learn to pick his battles.
Today was a good day.
@@iFanchi he was injured last year lol
In 1976 Lucien Van Impe even won the TDF.
Thanks For a great show 🇩🇰😊
Wiggo is super restless isn’t he😂…he is always twitching/moving😂
Coke crawing
Damn im the same way in a social sit down and never did coke once. I had no idea i had rhe effects though. Going to rehab tmrw@zikaperic2133
@@jimwhitehead6265 coke is an expensive habit... stick to the vodka
Pogacar did the final climb faster by around 2 minutes than Armstrong in 2001
@@ckaarchitect Conditions were ideal for a fast time.
which is incredible if we know it was Lance's physical best Tour.. he said so in Peter Attia interview
Pogi all the way 🇸🇮🎉
I have to tell you, I have no idea what these guys are talking about, I had zero interest in the Tour but I happened on this podcast last week - and now I’m sitting here with the popcorn absolutely GLUED!!
Interesting comment by Sir Bradley as I was watching a TH-cam where Visma team have their own mattresses moved to each hotel.
Love from Holland boys❤️
Great show AGAIN gentlemen.
You're right @wedu ... I would've been sad if I'd forwarded through the ad read and missed the banter about George's bowel movements!
More of that please!!! 😆
the bayesian trap- seems like everyone is unable/unwilling to re-access their pre conceived notions such as JV is the stronger rider at 100% or Pogacar having tired legs.. TP had a year to improve on his climbs which he explicitly said he worked hard on and it came to past. All things on face value TP has a slight edge on JV this tour but it almost sounds like the punters cannot come to terms with this, they are not willing to give credit when it's due, even just for today
You don’t really know much about statistics, do you
Jonas was in intensive care 5 weeks ago..
Does anyone believe the level his riding at is normal????
He is not 100% fit, but close.
He is not 100% fit, but Close.
Nope. Look up carbon monoxide doping…
Nope.. this recovery is way too fast and to be at this level.. definitely not LEGIT. Look at Wout... crashed before Jonas.. less serious... and he is dropping off regularly.. that says it all...
@@LadyBird-n2t So what makes you an expert?
Great (!) show tonight team. ℒℴve ☆҉ the clips. Sir Bradley, s’il vous plait, don’t leave. Can’t imagine doing Le Tour sans The Move, or JB2, or Outcomes. Le meilleur!
Best recap so far! Sir B has been a great addition. Live ya all!!!
Please keep sir Wiggo around till the end of the Tour at least
These idiots are playing checkers and Pogi is playing chess. They said his post interview on Stage 11 was delusional. Pogi forewarned what today would be in that interview. He knows what he's doing. Go Pogi!!!
I have challenge for Bradley.....If Jonas is Macaulay Culkin, who is Tadej?
Speed Racer
Been watching every day with Sir Bradley on board, excellent! I’m an American and I enjoy all the Move podcasts but I also massively enjoyed his show on Eurosport and also the Geraint podcasts. Would like to see Sir Bradley do his own podcast or program again or be a cohost!
pogačar said to slovenian tv he noticed jonas was not 100% so he sent yates in front to later attack him… he now wants to keep the momentum meaning he will try again if possible to get the most out of it before the alps. good luck jumbos.
Start at 08:00
Bradley has seriously good sense of humor! Elegant :D
7 mins in and still spewing sponsors. Like 1 big infomercial and I can’t do it anymore. Bye.
@@ricecrash5225 Snowflake. Bye.
Another great show guys! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this tour. George, Lance, JB2, and Sir Bradley. You are definitely a fun bunch of guys. I don't mind the ads... Zwift, eKoi, AG1, Ketone IQ, LMNT, The Feed... etc. 👍
- Every time Lance spoke with an accent, Sir Bradley looked at him like he wanted to throw down. 😂
Need to keep Sir Bradley, book his ticket for next year!
They said Pogacar was finished..........
Who said that?
@@poppyrowland1385no one. It was a stupid comment from the OP
the show is excellent, sir wiggins is a fantastic guest! how do you explain that INEOS completely lost the 'magic formula' that made them so dominant just a few years back ??
The shoes on the other foot this year. The past Le Tours Tadej hadda race a team. Primos & Wout would constantly attack Tadej wearing him out (not to mention his own propensity to over do it) not so this Le Tour. It's a mono a mono race between Tadej & Jonas. Who (Jonas) the other day when he caught Tadej was at 💯% today he lost so Jonas is not??? If Tadej races smart & doesn't have to man handle an entire team? Tadej is the better cyclist. Not to mention much more exciting to watch. 👍🏻🚵🏽♀️🇸🇮🇨🇵💯
Fully agree
Tadej has the upper hand this year with race preparation and a good team to support him. Rooting for him.
BTW the phrase is Mano a Mano (Mano = hand in Spanish), so hand to hand … mono = shortened form of mononucleosis (bad viral infection).
Well I'm not Spanish I'll keep that in the hat for next time! 👍🏻😂🤯
@@mikeoc217it’s a tadej vs Jonas race except for tadej’s stronger team that keeps attacking Jonas? There’s no consistency to your thinking
Visma has good cyclists to support him? Matteo was there right to the last climb
This show is just brilliant and with Sir Brad just got even better !!
Re: Vingegaard having a bad day. Interviewed by Wielerflits (available on their account here), Merijn Zeeman states his numbers were actually very good, but that Pogačar was just extremely good, adding [Vingegaard] will not be able to reach much higher numbers.
These seems like a pro-Jonas channel. Not many positive things said about tadej. It’s either Jonas is incredible or not 100 percent yet. Am I missing something as a non-cyclist spectator?
No. You are spot on. I dont know the reason, but yes, this year, this podcast is turning into visma jonas fangroup. Maybe visma is donating some money😂
Brad is incredible with his photo memory 😍 🤩🤩🤩
Unknown distance race is crazy!
Could we get an expansions on JB's marital issues? Perhaps a spin off show called JB Cared, where you explore the hosts on a more personal level.
It looks like this race is in the bag for Pogi. The fact that Jonas is as good as he is after that Basque country crash is awesome, but he's not at the level of Pogi.
Jonas doesn't have a strong team, it seems like he will need the help of other teams to control breakaways and I dont see that happening.
Even though Jonas won the stage a couple days ago, I think that was the fitness test by UAE to see how good they were going to be in response to attack. Then measured it for today.
George has amazing physique!!! Can we see the other two in underwear? 😂 for all the female supporters here in Slovenia 😊
Cool backdrop
Having Brad on this show just shoots into the stratosphere
11:17 Lance, you are correct. Pogačar spoke on the Slovenian national TV, that the reaction was spontaneous and unplanned. They sent Yates up to prevent possible attacks. UAE rode defensively, for a possible sprint at the finish. Pogačar mentioned that he saw Vingegaard not looking his best !
If you guys want deeper insights, watch the interviews he gives to Slovenian National TV (RTV channel 2). There are definitely harder cues 😉
16:22 Johan de Muynck was the last rider to win a Grand Tour before Remco at the Vuelta so Wiggo is probably right on Lucien Van Impe podiuming the Tour 🎉 Remco, damn it's not easy finishing 3rd in the Tour de France
That is a cool helmet on the desk!
Pogatron is back no one can stop him this year.
Vingo off form and weak team
Feel sorry for Brad ,, you can tell he is super agitated . He is going through a rough time at the momment . Hope you keep it altogether Brad !
He will come back stronger.
Brad? What happened?
Sir Wiggins on Wedü for the full tour, per favore! 💪🏼👏🏼
I have been following the Tour de France as a German fan since 1997. Without wanting to get too close to Lance and Jan, I feel cheated about the time when I thought there was a fair sport. I hope things go better today...
Could the fact that Tadaj had covid b4 the Tour be an advantage with so many falling sick atm?
But we do not know which lab release is going around now. Pogacar could have gotten a legacy snap and the riders today got the good stuff.
I had nothing till may last year and then I had a slightly worse week in bed than I had the last time in 2009. So where the propaganda R0 2,6 came from in 2020 I do not know. There was from my perspective no virus 2009-2023. Magic immune system or fake science? Sweden = no masks, no distancing, scare news, but the reality was a easy cruising.
Could be. He’s lucky that the infection was mild for him. No certainty that he might not have gotten a super virulent form of the virus or that his body would be able to fight it off as it has. It’s a crap shoot. So, maybe he’s lucky that he already had a recent infection - but he could get re-infected too. Especially because when you race like a pro in the TdF it weakens your immune system as your body is on the limit.
I think that what happened a few days a go was Pogi just feeling out what Jonas had and now he's going to slowly take time out of him each stage.
They way that he distanced Jonas on the Galibier stage and the stage today isn't a fluke. Jonas hasn't recovered enough to go as deep as he needs too. I wish Jonas well but he's just not there quite yet.
The other side of me says that Pogi is better than he has been before. The other plus is that the weather isn't going to be super hot like it normal is. Running the Tour earlier because of the Olympics may suit him. For anyone that lives in the mountains - I'm in NorCal and see how things change in the hills between the start and end of June, this can be huge.
Regarding Jørgensen’s pace, Jonas actually said afterwards the Matteo maybe could have went faster after Yates.
Why did he then not tell Matteo to go??
Maybe JV did tell MJ to go but Matteo didn’t have the legs?
Jurgen Van den Broeck was the last Belgian on the podium in 2010. But he only got that 3th place after the relegation of Contador (remember the 'zero zero zero zero zero zero cinque')
These promo's are sooooo annoying
Agreed- more than half the time is just pushing products
Ya mums onlyfans promos are anoying
George finally found his post-cycling calling.
Everyone's favorite doper!
Where ist Mr. Momentum today?
Hello Srs form other EPOchs.. Another record was broke by two minutes in the Pla d'Adet .. Strong days for old EPOchs
More movies !!!
Three dopers concluding that Pogacar had a fueling issue... this is ridiculous. Pogacar already gave it away when he was having the fueling issue stage and beaten by vingegaard. He said "I can't wait to the pyrenees". It has all been planed to details.
Seems a little like the guys are on the jonas team.... I think the Pog just got the mental win back and this year he's a beast, I don't really agree with the downhill bullshit for jonas as soon as Pog jumped off yares wheel he Was putting more time in.
Jonas would have to care as much as tadej would’ve cared when he lost the first 1v1 sprint in his tour career… to a climber
How is that emotional advantage playing out?
The emotional advantage has shifted back to Pogi!
Wow Bradley is in some serious remission? Poor guy
Brent Bookwalter is also from Albuquerque
Pogi did 6.85W/Kg (his best performance ever!) for 28min, peak enhanced Lance was near that numbers.
Did Bradley ever get sanctioned for his cortisone doping, or was it swept under the carpet due to politics?
Do you guys think that Pogi will try the triple by going to Vuelta? Would any of the two (Lance and the Sir!) would have attempted it, being in Tadej’s position?
Did anyone catch the crazy dude who was throwing potato chips in both Pogacar and Vingegaard's faces? I hope they plastered the dude's face everywhere so they can pick him up! What a weird-o.
How did Direct Energies, replace the bicycles that were stolen during the tour de France, did they have bicycles overnighted to them, or did they have to borrow some from other teams, or what?
They got more from their home base in southern France
Jurgen Van den Broeck was 3rd in 2010. He was the last Belgian on the podium... He was third because Contador (1st) and Menshov (3rd) were disqualified because of doping 😅
POGACAR WAS INJURED LAST YEAR, and it is different then this year, pogi said that he prepared this year different(more for a hills), so we will see tomorrow
Yep
I wonder if Tadej had waited longer for Yates's attack to gap the GC group before launching if they could have worked together longer to put more time into Jonas?
👏👏👏 Hincapie Films
Bradley: "Thats my Charles Manson look" 😂😂😂😂
Kind of heartbreaking watching a 7 time TDF winner having to sell a bunch of ads on TH-cam... But love the podcast. Just reinstate him as the 7 time winner TDF, who cares, everyone was doped to their teeth for decades.
We are going to need more Coltyn Present videos.
Wout will do his work with Laporte in dmthe valleys tomorrow. That is whh they let go that fast today.
I saw that too
More stories from your racing days please. 🎉
Even though Bradley’s answers are obviously smart, if you put him in the seat to the right side he can see both of you, and won’t look like he’s rubber necking 👍
Jonas has a much weaker team. This is Pogs Tour
Shoe on the other foot this year
