Thank You Steve ,Just passing this on ,You can polish to a mirror without a buffer ,just wet&dry paper and a finish hand polish,Start with 220 ,then320 ,400 ,600 ,800 ,1000 ,1500 2000 ,2500 ,3000,4000 ,finishing with 5000 ,Going opposite direction when you change grits ,Then Strictly Metal Polish ,Comes out Beautiful !!!
What's a great side hustle polishing starter kit that won't break the bank? I'm talking bare minimum spend that one can get away with and still provide great results for customers? No one is providing this service in my local and the locals love rims but cam barely maintain them. I know I can make a killing but as humble beginnings go, I'm starting off small. So far the equipment I have include: • Dewalt Atom brushless cordless drills • Dewalt modular right angle flexible shaft attachment • Bosch corded angle grinder • Dremel • Dremel flex shaft.
Awesome video as always man. I wish I had seen this a few years ago when I started polishing, haha. Still looking for video ideas? You could do a video or videos… explaining the differences in the methods used for different materials, aluminum, cast aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and of course cast iron. 😂😂😂. What compounds are used for each material, how they react to heat, which ones are corrosion resistant and which ones will require some sort of protective coating.
I need to need what it requires to get some rust bucket from NH or MA back to life . And ton more detail on what you use and why . Please and thank you
So I’m working on a pontoon boat that’s pretty new but has been acid washed. One section turned out great with 400&600. Another section has splotches after same process? Any insight? Resand cut and color? (Evans products also)
Too low would be a grit that makes more work than is required. But 50 isn't too low if that's what it takes. In most cases the lower you go the better the final result.
Subbed a few days ago. Cool content. I’ve got 18” fuels on my rzr, portals and portal lights. I’m thinking I want to polish the back side of my wheels and leave the front alone. Inside of wheels are highly visible on this machine and I’m thinking it will enhance my portal lights. How hard is it to get the powder coat off?
@@summershine_7702 Not necessarily real time but a run down at the start of each stage. I've seen some of your videos and your process seems awesome and the way you describe what you are doing is great.
Yes: huge question you didn't answer: What exactly is in those boxes? You said the grits but you didn't say wet or dry, you didn't say do you just use your hand or do you have various sanding blocks? If so, exactly what shape blocks? If not by hand do you have a machine? What kind of machine? Hook and loop backing? Show us what's in the damn boxes.
Its not as easy as it looks , problem i ran into sanding marks from the orbit sander using different brands of sanding pad or I just didn't sand good enough.
Never knew what was involved in polishing! Good info!
Thanks Brandon!
Awesome video! Started polishing on my 379 because of your videos!
That's awesome. I'm so glad I could help. Anything you want a video of?

That process you described is perfect, unfortunately I saw the video to late. I got good results but nothing like your stuff.

Keep the ideas coming! And I appreciate the kind words.
My dually needs some Summershine
I agree! Haha
I need to go through this process for my truck wheels, but I’m honestly scared to start haha. I’ll be looking forward to more videos.
Thanks for sharing some good info!
I'm trying to help out where I can

Doing a test spot is always beneficial, otherwise you will be starting again..similar to paint.
Exactly! It's the best way.
Awesome video Very informative
I want to get into hobby polishing. I have a set of weld racing rims I’m working on. Just having trouble finding products for all the steps
It's a trap🤣🤣🤣🤣
Super helpful as always bro 🙏💪🤘
Thanks Kevin I'm glad you liked it.
When you polish a wheel what is the apprentice you use? And also I saw on another video you switch from orbital to fast grinder….why??? Thanks

Hey Robert did you get this figured out? my guess is it need cut again.
How low is too low? I've got some seriously corroded aluminum wheels for example. Is 220 just going to make it worse and pit it?

I just purchased a makita buffer. And I have the buffing wheels. I need to get the aluminum safety flanges. Where can I get them?
I got mine from www.goshineon.com
What motion do you need to use when sanding with an orbital sander. On the lip in a deep dish wheel? Or does it not matter?
What do you use to remove the clear-coat that comes on many aluminum wheels?
Have you ever polished a boat anchor?

You either sandblast or you chem dip. But you gotta go all the way not half and half like you want. I may be wrong.
Not gonna lie it'll be tough.
Do you have a video of polishing a wheel from start to finish?
Do you want like a real time video of that? or a hyper lapse?

How would you fix a wheel that has been scuffed on the curb
I would sand the curb rash down and polish it back out. If it's painted it would take a different process
