    I just brought this bike and love it! I bought the street extreme pack as well, which fixes the tail tidy and replaces the blinkers to led ones. It also includes very nice frame sliders and a Yoshimura exhaust. I have also ordered a quickshifter with it and an ecu tune. This thing just drives like a dream. Oh and I ofcourse changed the headlight bulb to led. The bike looks really really nice to me. It is a crossover between a naked (like the mt 07/09) and a super sport.

    I bought a 2019 model in Suzuki blue. Love the bike. I actually prefer the look of this to the Dukes and MTs. Looks more aggressive imo. Shit that it comes with halogens but gives you the opportunity to modify it to your liking with LED indicators etc. That's half the fun! I fitted mine with some sequential LED's and a tail tidy and the bike looks amazing.
    The engine is the highlight for me, butter smooth, no jerky fuelling and unusable amounts of down low torque, just smooth linear power all through the rev range. Stock exhaust is a bit quiet imo but the induction howl is addictive. Waiting for an Arrow slip on which will complete the bike for me. I love it!

    Last year I was thinking about this or an MT09. I checked both, but the MT09 came for a better price, and the dealer was more relaxed about a testride. So no GSX750S, but I always liked it.

    I knew you'd like this one if you ever got around to reviewing it :) For someone riding a Tracer, but who misses some things about the XJ, how could this not be an amazing bike?
    As for "old": A dirty secret about larger sporty bikes, is that the market is now only a fraction of what it was back in the days where a million Gixxers ruled the roost, streets, tracks and backroads. Resulting in much less resources available for development, than what used to be the case. Hence, new designs don't see nearly the development, nor sweating of every little detail, that used to be the norm.
    Suzuki could no doubt also develop new engines for every new bike, in whatever is now advertised as the most "exciting" format. But then the new engines would be comparatively "slapped together", compared to the absolutely insane amount of refinement and development that has already gone into the legendary engines they already have access to. New-new may be more fashionable, and can be more specifically tuned for the narrow, very rarely realistic for most buyers, criteria the average motorcycling magazine applies when crowning the nowadays all-important "test winners." But it won't be as objectively "flawless" (literally free from flaws), as the stuff where every possible little detail has been honed to almost perfection back when resources to do so, were much more available.

    You are funny! I especially liked the bit when you went 169 kmh. You reaction says it all. Wow! I felt almost what you felt, just watching your video. Thanks so much for that. I was just thinking that I might splurge on one of these. What the hell? You only live once, and I need something that makes me wake up. I think this is the thing to do it. You are very critical about the looks. I think it looks good if not ultra-modern. I would not say it looks classical; not like an 80s bike. Taste is subjective. I think it looks very nice, like an untamed panther. I like big headlamps, not those horrible small cyclopses. Large indicator lights are more visible than small ones!

    Question. Dis the Gsx-s have engine vibration as the revs climbed? I have a new 2023 and the higher the revs the more vibration that comes through the bars, the seat, the foot pegs and the gas tank. Is this normal? My mirrors are blurry at any rpm above about 4-5k too.

  • @MachoMadness69420
    @MachoMadness69420 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There’s a good reason why it looks dated.
    It’s basically the old GSR 750 which debuted in 2011 in Europe and recieved an extensive update in 2017 and was rebranded as the GSX-S750.
    I believe the GSR was always called GSX-S in the US and where it was launched a couple of years later (2014ish ?).
    Anyway, Suzuki calling it a new bike in 2017 was quite a stretch.

    Then the big stock exchaust wil go away so then you see the backwheel.

    How does it ride, compared to honda cb650r?

    • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most noticeably, it rides flatter. Less sensitive to weightshift from braking and acceleration. The CB, no doubt on account of the Ninja 650 /KTM style direct attached, linkage less shock, responds more to trailbraking and getting on the gas. The Suzuki being less adjustable on the brakes and throttle, more even keeled. If you want to learn "advanced" sport bike riding techniques like trailbraking and weight management, the Honda is a better teacher as it gives more feedback at lower speeds and loads. But the flatter riding Suzuki is less finicky about just going for a ride, as well as strapping weight to the back for touring etc.
      Honda is supposedly putting the Showa Big Piston fork on the latest CB. If that is the same Big Piston fork Kawi used on the 636 (and latest Z1000), the Honda will have a much nicer fork. The Kawi one being almost scarily perfect. Until riding the 636, I did not know it was possible for a fork to be that smooth and compliant, and at the same time that supportive and precise, at the same time. The GSX-S has nice suspension. It's stiff, but you can back of preload on the street to get it to work nicely, then tighten it up on track where loads are higher. But the components aren't otherworldly and borderline magical, the way the Big Piston on the 636, at least when affixed to the girder stiff headstock of that bike, is.
      The Suzuki 750 is a much nicer engine. You really notice (at least of you are a sensitive whiner....) that the Honda was designed to be a budget piece for assembly "abroad", while the Suzuki 750 descends from what was a family of essentially cost-no-object superbike engines designed to rule the world. The Honda works fine, but is a bit gruff and buzzy. Some notably worse than others, indicating the typical "tolerance tolerant" design the Japanese are employing for lower cost assembly by "more variable" workforces. Ditto with the breathing. It works, but is never as pin sharp as the GSX-R mill in the zone.

    • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The GSX-S has perhaps he greatest sporty I4 ever fitted to a naked. The SV ditto for a V-Twin. They're completely different. The SV about as narrow as a bicycle, the GSX-S with the wide GSX-R typical tank and front section. Practically, the newest SV has a noticeably smaller rider triangle. If you're 185, the GSX-S is more properly sized. But again, while both are sporty, naked Suzukis which handles like dreams and have absolute allstar engines, they are completely different bikes to ride.

    • @HS99876
      @HS99876 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Z900 is the best one in middle weight naked class, It is end of the year, there are very good deals on GSX but not on Z900 because of the demand for Z900. In middle weight naked class GSX S750 is the lowest ranked compared to competition like Z900, MT 09, Monster 821 and .... , the reason is that it has smaller engine, it is in line four, torque at higher Rpm. It works for my budget, I am happy to get a In line 4 for a price of SV650.

    • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not if you want a proper short stroke sport bike engine. Nor if you are taller. The Z900 is a bit crunched in the knees. 100hp+ and fairing free, I also prefer the greater forward lean, as well as narrower bars, of the GSX-S. It may lack LEDs, but like all Suzukis, it's got a good reflector, hence lights the road well.
      The Z is a more typical "naked", though. More upright, more power down low, softer sprung, much better at wheelies, wider bars, quicker steering. The Suzuki more of a "sportbike for the real world."

      The little 749cc suzuki holds its own....what's that tell you about the engineering of suzuki. They know motors They build em right.....and keep the cost down on the buyers end. I think they cut corners in the right places. For instance I don't care what the swing arm looks like. I don't need a TFT. I don't need led lamps. fancy electronics, Or a bike that's 30 lbs less In weight but costs 2 k more. The motor ..gear box.. chassis.. fuel consumption ect ect..they get it right where it counts

      No slipper, but the gear box is smooth as silk, and the clutch has good feel and a nice engagement zone - no problems. Throw in some rev matching and it all works that much better.
