I just got rid of my quad yesterday but picked up 4 mopeds that need wire work so thanks for the lesson
I just got this same wheeler 1988 200sx...it's been sitting awhile and I need to clean carb.. is my only solution for getting out seized stripped machine screws that hold the plastic on is my drilling them out..and the people used blue lock tight go figure.
So I can jump my starter and all solenoid working I did that test. So I’m thinking it must be my switch. I’m hoping that I can test if it is my switch. I’m thinking it’s my wires in front of bike that’s maybe messed up or put on incorrectly. Last elder owner stated the headlight and starter did work and the starter is def turning over. None of the wires is even out of the wire wrap so I don’t think it is but we will see! Thank you !

That’s a good information video ! 2 questions 1st - The battery powered HEMP ( Harvey’s Electrical Multi-purpose Power ) box , some have a battery in them , what wire does the electric hook-up to ? The one that goes to the pulse generator or the stater plate or coil ? I built one without a battery and I want one with a battery ! Thank you !
I have a neutral light an working headlight on my 250ES when I hook power to the bike an turn on the switch but it doesnt do anything when I hit the [start] button, I might mess with doing the R/N grounding tomorrow see if that makes a difference
Please help I have the same quad it doesn’t have spark I already switch stator pick up coil, spark plug coil , key switch and I’m getting neutral light and every light works just fine I get power everywhere but it’s not getting any power to the coil so no spark also want to know if there’s a way to by pass the kill switch

I replaced the stator and pulse generator spark plug and ignition coil I’m still not getting spark please send help
Could it be the lights work directly from the generator/alternator?,only working with the engine running. I don't know anything about ATVs,just have a bit of experience with old bikes.
Hey harvey i just started working on my trx 200 im checking electrical first i dont have a pull start turns over kinda good when i try by hand..if i try to jump solenoid to see if i got power it just sparks. I cant hold it down long because it seems like it was frying it started smoking ..so does that mean some wires crossed somewhere
It didnt have an igniton switch so i put the new one on i think i did right i put the green on green black on black red on red and it was a yellow and red coming from frame and black and white wire on new ignition so i connected those 2 that was left

And it has no spark
I work on it like 6 hours but still nothing i checked everything cdi starter also battery was fully charged but still i cant understand
Can wrong timing cause low compression and loss of spark?
i am beginning to wonder about my recon when i got it the piston was shattered had to get all the pieces out of the crank i had the thing upside down cleaning it out with the garden hose found another head put new piston rings gaskets valve job and the dam thing has jumped time my next option is i have a standard shift bottom end on a frame i will have to see if it is shaft or chain that my ordeal right now and time is running out on my wood getting put up for the winter so i may have to push this recon to the back burner and i have the parts for my rancher and might go-ahead and tear into it complete rebuild my dog is going to hate me if i don't get something running he wants t o ride so bad every i turn around he is sitting on one of the wheelers wanting to go i better get busy i am running on overtime already

if ya got a honda atv /atc from the 80's and it doesn't run...watch some harvey spooner ..he's fixed every problem on them especially wiring ...god bless
