I think it'll be a really tense scene, where the lion stalks angron. I hope it is subversive to expectations, I can see angron hunting the lion in return. I want a true one on one.. No sons of the primarchs present. I want the lion to find angron hunting something else, and as angron slaughters whatever helpless victim he finds, the lion waits patiently, lurking through terrain and submerging in pools of blood left in the gargantuan footsteps of angron's wake. I wouldn't want angron to know he's there, though in lore that may prove difficult to write because the lion is described as some odd kind of blank, and as large presences in the warp are easily detected, so too are the lack thereof. I'm excited for the novel.
In concept it's something i'm really looking forward to, but i also have some dread that the whole "can't be permanently banished thing" is just gonna become an excuse for angron to lose more. Hopefully it ends up being something way more interesting but i can't let go of the thought that all of this was just hype to make him losing against the lion seem more impressive.
I'd wager good money on seeing Ghazghkull Thraka enter the scene. It'd be completely out of nowhere, but I'd love to see the "Ghazkghull with a chair" meme completed. That said, if not, an epic showdown between the Lion and Angron would be pretty sweet.
I don't know if eternal life as a demon would be my move if I were already in perpetual agony. "Man, I can't end this suffering...better make sure I can never die!"

Either say they managed to recover the the deathwatch stealth ship (and its recordings, that Alpha legionnaires left untampered... somehow) or have Farsight himself, or one of his diplomat, make a plead to Imperium for help since he has been essentially abandoned by the T'au empire.
Weird that the Imperials didn't just focus fire Angron with heavy weapons or lascannons. Sure, he's got a 2+,4++ save, but he only has 18 wounds and there's no cap on the amount of damage he can take every turn. With no ranged or psychic options like Mortarion or Magnus, he's actually relatively easy to kill so long as you keep out of charge range. Kind of a waste of 360 points, if you ask me. Shooting armies like Votann or Tau absolutely shred him.
Pretty sure they nuked him a few times, he just comes back. And pops up wherever the fighting is the worst. He can be killed fairly easily but he comes back so fast it's just a delaying tactic at most
@@TikkiEXX I suppose that makes sense. It costs 6 Tithes of Blood to revive him but his death gives you 3. With all the slaughter going on, they probably had plenty of points to revive him as often as they'd want.
One wonders how many hundreds of man-hours were poured into gathering all the scraps of information needed to produce such a chronicle. One wonders how many lives were lost plucking databanks and sane (enough) witnesses from the jaws of a sector given over to rage. May the dead find mercy, for the living are not so lucky.
To demons their form is mostly their self image manifested. The Angron can not imagine himself without the nails, thus his physical manifestation will have them.
Seems like a plot hole. The nails weakened his mind and emotions. And he was possessed unwillingly. He also hates being a slave to anyone or thing. Once the real nails were gone he would regain his faculties and shake off posession. Other Primarchs seemingly easily exorcised possession and now there would be no reason or motive for Angron not to do the same even if he would still fight against the Emperor.
@John They're a part of him. Like he'd be a completely different person without them. Honestly don't think he can see himself without them so when he ascended they stayed a part of him.
@@TikkiEXX if that is the case I think it is a weak reasoning on GWs part. He is still a Primarch, not an every day human. There has to be something else because of the reasons I mentioned. Once released that momentarily clarity is all a Primarch needs.
Imagine the custodes and sisters in the cursed fleets that didn’t engaged, ending up alone and having to kill an entire ship’s population like “yup, we saw it coming the emperor’s subject are again disgusting traitors”
Wait...does Angron still feel the bite of the Butcher's Nails? I'm currently reading the novel Fall of Cadia, and when Urkanthos initially begins his transformation to demonhood, only half ascending before losing the interest of Khorne, there is mention that when the Butcher's Nails bite, they only bite in the half of him that is not yet a demon. Later, when Urkanthos has fully ascended to demonhood, he speaks of the Butcher's Nails as being a memory. When one of the canonesses manages to impale his tail with a holy relic he compares the pain to the memory of the bite of the Butcher's Nails. These passages led me to believe the ascent to demonhood relieved them of the Nails, but here, it seems Angron is still subject to their bite. I know the Butcher's Nials implanted int he Astartes of the World Eaters legion are only rudimentary versions of the Nails implanted in Angron himself, so maybe his were able to withstand the transformation, but in reading Fall of Cadia, I believed Angron's transformation would have finally relieved him of that burden.

And considering the offence taken that leads me to assume you are fine with ruining hobbies - but a comment? Oh no. that's out of line Sir. *chuckles relentlessly*
Congrats for the 110K my man! Also, this turn to more recent events in the timeline is appreciated. If I may, I strongly suggest you cover the Arks of Omen series on White Dwarf 484-onwards, once it's finished. Not only it's an interesting story in its own right, it covers a crucial mission to gather knowledge about the Arks' purpose. Who knows, the strike force involved may even turn out to be one of Oculus' mysterious sources about what's going on in the galaxy...
Just when I thought my day couldn't possibly be any better, here comes another lesson from the Historitor. Thank you so much again, your work is inspiring.
I can’t wait for the Farsighted and Lion lore books!
My favorite TH-camr fr, I love when I get ready to drive my car and I see a new oculus video to listen to while driving it makes driving so nice! Great video !!!!
I can't wait for the Lion and Angron to go at each other, What do you guys think?
That said, if not, an epic showdown between the Lion and Angron would be pretty sweet.
im more interested with what will happen when Abaddon has to deal with the demon primarchs
@@awakeandwatching953 I don't see that happening.
Awesome audio rendition , so happy I found this channel!
I don't know if eternal life as a demon would be my move if I were already in perpetual agony.
"Man, I can't end this suffering...better make sure I can never die!"
Perfect timing. Just stepping out to go for a run. Time to hear more of brother oculus’ tales
To the good old days of Gaming. My favorite games of Warhammer 40K were back and old 3rd Edition. Please make more I will watch guaranteed. Now after watching this I'm going to go dig out all of my old 3rd Edition rules and use it with my current miniatures. Cheers
I'm sorry but we're you trying to contact me?
Very liking this active rembrancing.
Every upload is such a gift...
Ave Imperator. Gloria in Excelsis Terra.
May the Omnissiah bless you for this gift you give us, the unworthy servants of the Glorious Machine, on the day of lament and suffering for our lord, The Emperor.
100k! So proud to see you get there man, I await your content more than any other channel on TH-cam and have for the last 5+ years 🎉
Another astonishing update! Loved every second of it! Congrats on a 100k subs!! Please do a special with the Inquisitor Kalendra involving the return of the Lion. Or better yet, the Oculus being a fly on the wall of the room where Guilliman and the Lion meet face to face after 10,000 years.
100K !! So we'll deserved, your videos really got me into 40K lore.
Fridays are always GOOD when Mr. Oculus releases a new video!
Amazing work as always! Your writing improves with every video, and your delivery is phenomenal! Is there any way to read the scripts of these videos? I'd love to use some quotes as in-universe papers or books for my Dark Heresy campaign!
Perfect timing as always, lord!
A whole hour from the Oculus on Angryman himself, this calls for a glass of single malt and a comfy chair
Dang, theres so much more to Arks of Omen as well! Will we get a part 3? Still haven't heard the return of The Lion.
honestly my favorite new World Eater lore is finding out Lotara is still technically alive.
Divinely Gruesome and Thorough, Good Occulus. Well done.
The continuous scourgeing of that many psyckers would only naturally draw Daemonic attention. 41:02
great series, also the background music is great!
Love your work, Oc! You're right up there with Luetin09 IMHO!
If only Big E allowed the World Eaters Legion to attack Nuceria, wipe out the High Riders and aid Angron to fight by his side which would have cemented his loyalty.
I think that the only thing that would have made Angron more loyal would have been Big E actually fighting along side of Angron to free Nuceria.
That would have accomplished what? "Yay we saved some ignorant slaves," no Angron should have moved on, or simply have been allowed to die.
I dont get it, they got ran over by the World Eaters later on but some people think Big E and his Custodies couldnt go down and headbutt them into submission?
That is just silly.
@@Sleepy_zzzzz Should be lucky Sang got lucky with his dice rolls and didnt get converted to Choas.
Or you would have big M A D on your side and probably need to be revived like 4 times during the siege of Terra.
Also if the World Eaters could headbutt the whole world into the grave later on, Big E could of did that faster.
@@Subject_Keter your grammar is awful. Emps wrecking the planet or not isn't the point. Which is more useful, a ragtag group of traumatized slaves, or a industrialized society capable of producing technology like the butcher's nails?
That intro was beautiful and tragic.
Really curious to see how you'll incorporate Arks of Omens Farsight into your narrative when the time comes but looking forward to it nonetheless, been needing a Tau situation update 😉
Either say they managed to recover the the deathwatch stealth ship (and its recordings, that Alpha legionnaires left untampered... somehow) or have Farsight himself, or one of his diplomat, make a plead to Imperium for help since he has been essentially abandoned by the T'au empire.
I love the image of Angron just throwing himself into the battle FROM SPACE. Just pure stupid blind rage incarnate.
Man this makes excellent audio book naptime stuff.
Never ceasing to impress. Oculus inspires!
I have been a fan so long I 👍 the videos before I even watch them. I know I shall never be disappointed.
Loved your reading of the 1st 2 books can't wait for the rest of the books
With all the slaughter going on, they probably had plenty of points to revive him as often as they'd want.
amazig video man like alaways congrats on 100k subs
Huzzah! The Loremaster speaketh!
Comment for the comment algorithm. Another fine production by Occulus!
absolute perfection! Ave Imperator.
In three words:
Rage against the machine
Can't wait for Farsight's!
Bro your videos are awesome. So comprehensive and emersive.
Oh boy, the Imperium did't have such a bad Tuesday since...um...*looks at notes*
last Tuesday.
Exquisite! Thank you!
Wow, what a treat. Thanks!
Fantastic video. You really elevate the material with your presentation.
…also saves me from having to squint at some of their font choices.
Can we get a "Crazy for you" (Adam Warlock intro) covered by Mick Gordon for Angron's arrival here please?
Just a thought, if Angrons physical form is annihilated then wouldn't that destroy the nails? So when he "regenerated" the nails would be gone. 🤔
The nails were technically destroyed the first time he went daemon, but Khorne thinks its funny so he replicates the feeling in Angron’s daemon form.
@John
They're a part of him.
Thank you for the stories!
Perfection per usual
I half expected this to be an hour of the Sly Marbo scream
I cant't wait to see what the Lion says when he learns what's happened since he took his ten thousand year cat nap.
Imagine the custodes and sisters in the cursed fleets that didn’t engaged, ending up alone and having to kill an entire ship’s population like “yup, we saw it coming the emperor’s subject are again disgusting traitors”
They are probably still floating thorough space.
"Driving is for the 'Help'"
I would have hated to go through all the fragmented reports to assemble this story.
Angron was a bigger loser than any other primarch. Even Lorgar.
Change my mind.
Angron makes Morty look good.
Oh Angron. My poor sweet baby boy.
Whole remaining fleet of world eaters is eradicated in battle
Angron 10 seconds later: check out my new fleet.
Blood for the blood god! Oculobes for the Oculus!
Oh dearest oculus, it would be awesome if you would be able to elaborate on the betrayal at Calth
Now would be the time Scribe, for one of The Primarch's Loyalist brothers to make an appearance....
Wow this was a big one
I know it's the Coral Engine, but, I can't stop hearing it as the "Carl Engine".
I thought it was the Choral Engine, as the psychers that power it scream out in a chorus or choir.
Should've ran on lamas, not psykers. Then.
@@Xune2000 oooh, right! That could be it.
