  • Hey there guys! In this video we discuss working 8hr shifts, 5 days a week. Our current travel assignment is 8 hours, 5 days a week. In this video we discuss pros and cons to working 5 days. Like everything in life, there are pros and cons to working 8 hour shifts. One major thing we enjoy about working 5 days is being able to build a routine. The days we worked 12 hour shifts were exhausting days. On those days we were unable to complete anything we needed to complete. The upside to 12 hour shifts are the multiple days off in a week. Working 8 hours now, we are able to adjust our schedules to be able to get things done either after work or before work. We hope you enjoy this video. Tell us if you prefer 8 hour shifts 5 days a week or 12 hours 3 days a week. Do not forget to like the video, comment, and subscribe to the channel. See ya'll in our next video!

School nurse here, i work 7 hours, 5 days a week. 8am-3pm. I love my routine. I love having my weekends off. I love getting holidays off. I love being home by 330pm and hanging out with fam. I love that once I clock out I have NO stress whatsoever, I'm not worried about "did I forget to chart this person" or "damn did I tell that nurse that she is on I&O".

The routine is the best to be honest. I will say that the 9-5 can be stressful but it's a different kind of stress, in comparison to stress working the floor.

I was a staff nurse, worked 4, 8 hr shifts, and every other weekend. I never worked more than 3 shifts in a row so it was the BEST schedule. I had 4 days off every other weekend. Having days off during the week is really advantageous, you can get a lot done. I enjoy your positive energy and attitude!

Definitely agree with you there. 3 days, 12 hrs is great but I would prefer it in an outpatient setting. Thank you for the support :)

Great question. It all depends on where you will be located in terms of working. Good pay is also relative to your lifestyle and it is also subjected. In NYC I believe nurses are paid well. I think the ICUs are the units that pay their nurses more.
