Cvt doesn't ruin these, people who don't understand the mechanics of their car ruin these. Majority of all fails are owners failing to do proper maintenance. Not saying there arent lemons out there.. Most companies will be going this route soon enough, for continues power and no lag. Also better efficiency.
@@yourpoint2553 I have a 07 maxima with 110k miles no issue so far. Not sure if the past two owners have changed cvt trans fluid but still has that brownish clear color. Do you think I should change the fluid? I hope to have this car for another 4-5 years
@@airuzair2424 if your unsure of the last time it was maintenance its always a good idea to do it. Cvt uses the coolant from the engine as well to stay cool so you should replace that too as the agent losses its ability to keep it cool. Even 40k miles i suggest. Never over fill.

I ran a Cameron v6 that started first in a 10 cut maxima and hung with. No slouch at all. I just am uncomfortable with rpm staying around 6k the whole time at wot. My 05 5spd auto is slower but more of what I expect.
Best sounding V6 of all time. I’d like to see y’all get rid of the third converter where the 2 pipes join and give it an X pipe instead. True dual it. Idk how that’d affect the computer and all though. You’d probably have to go in and do some stuff

Nope, it’s just going to a true dual exhaust. The engine design is vertical, so it works out, unlike Honda’s V6’s, where their engines are mounted horizontally.
Honda ends up using a ‘j-pipe’, which brings the front and rear banks both into one bigger pipe. It then singles out, all the way to the back as a single exit exhaust technically; until it splits at the rear mufflers with a y-pipe, just for the dual mufflers.
Nissan V6’s are true dual, but their front y-pipe usually brings both pipes into a single design, just like the Honda V6 factory design I mentioned right before. But this kind of exhaust is much much easier to modify into a true dual exhaust.
And as far as the “computer stuff”, no tuning really needs to be done. I can see it potentially losing “backpressure” from a lot of the single exit after the factory y-pipe, being converted into a genuine true dual exhaust all the way back.
You would lose some low end power and torque, but that’s almost any kind of modification to the stock exhaust; just as you would with a rear muffler delete, or a cat delete on a fully stock exhaust. You’re simply removing restrictions, but not to the point where you can barely drive because you don’t have any exhaust backpressure and ‘scavenging’ (ex: running open headers/downpipe).

!50 miles, no issue with cvt, they are good in the newer Maximas.

I’m not sure the logic in paying 1500 for motordyne exhaust then cutting of the mufflers seems wasteful.
No logic in my opinion personally if I was going to spend that kinda money on motordyne and then cut off what makes that unique sound it would be a waste. A fabrication exhaust would have made more sense. Tuners are your best bet but probably want to order all your bolt ons so your fbo and get a tune then at a place that specializes in those cars or brand. I say that because they'll know what works good and what doesn't for that car.
Can’t tune these cars unfortunately. Apparently they still haven’t figured out how to crack the ECU

@@tyricc3671 traded my POS 06 Grand Prix GXP that was burning oil and had bad pulleys. The dealer gave me 2500 guarantee, and I added that with a down payment to a 2017 maxima SR Midnight Red package. 67k miles, 20k. It’s like 60 torque less than the 5.3 V8 in the GXP, but she’s hella fun to drive

Much cheaper used, 300hp, better on gas. No hate on Scats, but they’re very common at this point. Pretty much a everyday car, give me a Maxima and people will never expect it like the purple one. Catches people off guard to see a “tricked out” Maxima.

Had a 2017 before it got totaled out by a deer in may at 125k miles hadn’t blown 🤷🏾♂️
My 2007 Nissan versa, with a CVT, just finished driving last month with 298,200, it still drives on level ground but going uphill it starts fading the CVT starting to go out, I found a 2019 pearl white Maxima s with 2200 miles on it for 24000 so I bought it, averaging 29 MPG,, BEST 33.6.
The CVT’s in the Maxima and Murano seem to be lasting much longer. Also a lot of people don’t change the CVT fluid, which you’re supposed to do.
