      It's pretty bad. Lunging with minimal dorsiflexion and being too upright will decrease glute activity, reduce horizontal and vertical velocity on the way up. Generally, terrible for performance.

    Should her knee be touching the floor? The Essentials 4th Edition states that the knee should be "1 to 2 inches above the floor" (pg 385).

      As long as her knee doesn't come crashing down, and she can control her eccentric motion, there is nothing wrong with it. 1-2" from the ground is more of a safety buffer
