The head position thing is an absolute game changer.
I never thought that the head extension intuition made such a big impact on thoracic mobility, this is nuts I feel great

That one reminds me of an ELDOA exercise I tried years ago and didn’t understand.

Actually no ancient Yogic text mentions Belly breathing. B.K.S. Iyengar mentions that in one of his seminars - the video in on TH-cam. In fact he chastises belly breathers something fierce. Belly breathing is only a small stepping stone for chest breathers to start moving their breath downwards. It's relatively easier to practice compared to diaphragmatic breathing.

You’re right. So many people confuse diaphragmatic breathing with belly breathing. I’m a huge belly breather my chest never moves when I inhale except when I’m out of breath. It makes me hate running because my chest hurts when I pant heavily. Panting is the only time when I chest breathe and my intercostal muscles are so weak from underuse that it can’t take heavy and rapid breathing.

I am in severe benzo WD.was on diazepam for muscle spasm from spinal surgery.
All muscles in contracture as they were when out on diazepam in 2001.
Ribs very tight at back and lower ribs forced in and up so sternum being pulled forward and up. Feels like stomach being crushed. Have degeneration in spine at that level and at top of thoracic where vertebra have fused.
    All muscles like hard rubber.
Try to breath but being crushed around middle and lengthwise.
Will try this but can hardly get ribs to move as so tight.
Also had pelvic floor prolapse caused by sudden loss of muscle mass and dystonia that pulls and twists in middle of body caused during benzo WD.
To add further complication gluts have become rigid and sciatica back and surgery site at L5/S1 bending back on itself and shoulders agony so hard to lie in bridge position or sit,
    Any advice much appreciated.
