      Track Day Stinger Gt owner here fair review on your part. I have the limited Gt as you can see in my profile picture. I believe in the potential of this car. Lap 3 only upgraded the baby turbos in the stinger and it’s already sitting at 640hp to the wheels 700 crank. Like you said it’s not built for the track but with upgrades I really believe this car could be a monster. I also live in NJ so I have the AWD. I honestly love the car. I would tell people to just get the base Gt as well and if you need AWD get it. Great review you got a new subscriber

    Gt owner here I thought his review was fair. I will say this I bought this car for its potential it has a lot and for the price it’s great. I bought the base Gt limited edition for $45,000 which I know initially isn’t cheap but Kia instantly took $7,500 off that sticker plus my trade in plus my down payment. So I really got the car for $33,500 brand new and was given another $5000 cause the yellows had paint issues. So really I bought the car for $28,500 brand new your simply not beating the value of this car even for $33k. Like I said I bought this car for its potential and it has a lot with a simple piggyback tune nothing else gets you to 440Hp. Most of my fellow stinger owners out there with basic bolt ons and a tune we are at 500Hp+ at the crank and 550 TQ. Lap 3 has upgraded our baby turbos in the stinger 700Hp and that’s only upgraded turbos that’s it. Transmission is believed to be good up to 800 Hp. Keep in mind this is a new platform . Guys are doing 11.5 1/4 mile times with piggyback tunes and basic bolt ons. Sorry for the long comment but I love this car and know the potential it has.

    Subscriber and 2019 Stinger GT owner here (purchased Aug 2019). I can appreciate your no-nonsense and un-hyped review, especially coming from the "breadth" of cars you drive. 4 months ago, I ended up choosing the RWD base GT after testing various trims.
    Base GT, RWD made the most sense (cost, weight, dynamics). It's the best performance value and a conclusion I think any true auto-enthusiast would arrive. Also, it didn't hurt Kia was rolling out summer clearance incentives (which are still going on for 2019s). My Hichroma Red base GT was $33k out the door, new. Helluva deal.
    Since Aug, I've installed BMS intakes, BMS rear diff brace, and a BMS JB4 w/ wireless BT kit. An MBRP CBE is OTW. Running Map2 on 93 Octane, makes around 420whp and 500 wtrq. With launch control, the 255 Mich PS4's do hook up as long as temps are ideal. You should test one. Matter of fact, if you're near Richmond VA, you can test mine.

I'm looking to install a WMI kit with my JB4 tuner so I can run safer IAT's and maybe w/ E30 fuel. Currently though, she's easily a mid to low 12 car and possibly a high 11 with a prepped surface and proper tires.

    I think it is a long shot for this Korean Kia Stinger to catch up with other well known European sports models. The video presented a fair and detailed review. The beautiful scenery and the superb cinematography added extra points to the car.

    • @kellycellini
      @kellycellini 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate your perspective, Jerry. But have you driven the Stinger GTS as well as European sports models so that you can make a fair comparison? I used to own a Lotus Elise, Porsche Panamera, BMW M3, and an Audi S3 (among other cars). Just traded in the Porsche for the Stinger GTS and I'm loving it! Honesty, the Lotus was the most fun to drive, but the Stinger is fairly competitive with all of the others. It certainly beats them all with initial costs, maintenance, and repair costs... not to mention insurance! I do see your point, but the price tag is roughly $20,000 lower than comparable European sports cars. So, while the cars may not be an "apples to apples" comparison, the Stinger (particularly the GTS in my case) sure gives those cars a scrappy fight! Well done, Kia! Overall, I think the review was right on the money, but I might up the percentage from 80% to 85-90% actually. And plus, I feel so much less douchey getting out of a Kia than getting out of a Porsche, and it's more fun to get there. Just sayin'!

    The Stinger AWD got good numbers, but really curious how the RWD version is. I would personally put this close to the Lexus FSport or the Q50 Red Sport. The upcoming CT4-V (4-cyl) or CT5-V (V6) may be a possible competitor, but still waiting more info on those.

    • @SpeedLabsMotorEnvy
      @SpeedLabsMotorEnvy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think the Harold & Kumar car combo has been done yet 😄
      I think in stock form, the Stinger GT/S/1/2 is a good match for the Q50RS in straight line and around corners. I have a feeling the Stinger would be quicker around a track for whatever reason based on the lap time, but yeah, if it were me, RWD is the way to go. Only reason I grabbed the AWD version is because of (1) Drift Mode test and (2) all the other cars in the same class that I've reviewed are the AWD variant. I do want to try an F Sport at some point though.

    I have a 2019 Stinger GT RWD (base GT trim below the GTS). BMS Intakes, MBRP exhaust, BMS diff brace, JB4 tuner. #'s recorded w/ Draggy. Best run on Map 3, limiting boost in 1st for launch control, 0-60mph in 4.40 sec (4.13 sec w/ 60ft rollout), 1/4 mile in 12.38 @ 115.75 mph, 0-100 mph in 9.54 sec, 0-130 mph in 15.95 sec, and a 60-130 mph in 11.55 sec. All runs performed on Indy 500s, 255/35 front, 285/30 rear on 20" SF07s.

    Love my Kia Stinger GT2. One thing people miss is how nice a winter car it is. It eats through the snow here in Sweden, and above all, the turbo is tested at -25 C, at that temp, you are not even supposed to start the competitors cars.. That is huge.
    Too bad they didn't want to lift the car out of the brand. It should be Stinger, sold at Stinger stores, because the brand does drive off customers. People will go for a Mustang over this, though their loss really.. :P

    The crazy thing about the stinger is the base trims are really starting to drop in price. I have seen a few around for under 27K and even on mark up used sites like carmax they are dropping to under 30k even if you think you can get more performance out of something other then the Stinger when you look at something like a 2015 Mustang GT or Charger RT or a Audio S4 at well 25K or more then remember that the Kia Stinger at its oldest is only a year old and becoming a really strong used option.

    I see acting in this vid 😂
    Yeah my buddy Evan has the same orange he said the same thing about the 1/800
    It does sound very nice yes, and I’ve heard it in person. But I wanna see this speaker shit
    Drift mode? Never heard of that in this car
    I still have no idea how this car weighs so much. It’s insane. You’ll probably save 200-300lbs with RWD
    And I saw yesterday a stinger GT with a widebody kit. Looked nice
    I’ll come back in a bit
    Ok I’m back for a bit now. Yes snow driving with all wheel drive is awesome
    Yeah, I do not like the enterior. I have no idea why they did all this loony tuney shit with the dash
    The wheel is very nice for sure
    And the paddles are better than the Audi paddles. I think the new 2020 TTRS is getting an upgrade in the paddle department 👀
    Your friend loves bad ideas I see 😂
    YES DRIFT MODE
    Wow it gets plenty of angle. That’s a big shock for all wheel drive
    I’ll come back again in a bit
    Alright here I am again!
    Looks so fun in drift mode
    Yeah my buddy Evan has a RWD stinger
    Oof redline upshifts are lame
    Wow that’s not bad actually for a sedan. Just watching it climb is unique
    The shifts could be better. I agree
    Ooh a surprise track test. I like it
    Understeer? That really blows. I’m not surprised it’s done this bad it’s a Kia after all
    Wow. Definitely not a track car. Disappointing
    The car just weighs way too much. Honestly.
    Wow the abarth beat the stinger
    Damn the TTRS has like 3 seconds on the GTS in the 1/4 mile
    Even if you did mod it, that weight just kills it tremendously. Wish it was lighter
    The A7 would be nice to see on your channel, but you’ll probably be disappointed honestly
    HIT THAT SUBSCRIBE BUTTON
    Glad you didn’t go into a tree. This was a long one. And I enjoyed it as well. The Stinger is a bit below average for my liking. It’s just not enough of a car. I will be reviewing it soon though, my buddy said he would allow me to right after Christmas. It should be broken in by then, and I’ll understand how you felt about the car when I review the same one. This time, it won’t be all wheel drive though.
    Anyways, hope your weekend goes well. I’ll be in touch. Cya in the next vid!

      Damn bro this is a long ass essay today. Alright, good thing I've got some time now.
      Dude it was effing cold that day. Like legit 25-30F out. Yeah, I was acting more "human" lol. Anyway go to your buddy Evan's car and play through the menus, you'll find the setting to turn the sound on and off.
      The GTS was advertised with this so-called Drift Mode as like the fancy thing.
      You can see how everything is a mesh of BMW/Benz/Audi/VW right? It's funny actually if you think about it.
      Yeah the 2020 TTRS has like actual RS paddles which is nice. The ones in the RS6 I drove a few months ago were decent, but still not up to par for a 100K+ USD car.
      This was a long video huh? Had to take a few breaks I see. Your buddy Evan is a smart guy. RWD is the way to go for these kind of cars.
      Catch you on the next one buddy!

    Uh, the dialogue isnt natural and both of you seem very un natural when speaking. The information is there but just be more natural and go through a checklist of things to discuss. When you guys give data then reference a comparative anlysis. Aint nothing wrong with you guys having a natural conversation. Thats more entertaining to me as the viewer.

      @SpeedLabsMotorEnvy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, noted. First time trying this format and first time with Sean interacting in the car. There's room for improvement, but like I mentioned in a previous update, I'm trying to back away from screen time either way.

  • @sachellebabbar9005
    @sachellebabbar9005 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This shows if you have money and skills for a good production, a good video will not necessarily come out of it. The interactional scripting is not just awkward, but bizarre in the way each uses the other as a surrogate to relay info from a spec sheet. It's as bad as various CSI episodes where the conversations are contrived and the characters relay what they know, and the one they talk to give an explanation because it's an explanation for the audience they assume to be imbeciles. It doesn't fit because in the scheme of the show, you know that both characters know what each other is talking about, yet they explain what the other is saying. It's contrived and fake. That's actually what's going on here. The script writers assume the audience are dumb. The other comparison are old educational films from the 30s-70s, usually where there's an adult and a child speaking and everything comes with an explanation and the kid has no way of understanding until the adult sets them straight with a deep discussion.
    Overall, just weird scripting with the assumption that the audience is stupid. The timeframe for this review doesn't help, since everyone knows everything about this car and have seen more legit reviews, It was also fairly obvious they were going to pan the car and the conclusion shows they lost the plot. It revealed they were reviewing the car in terms of it not being a BMW or a Mercedes that cost 10k more, not reviewing the Stinger for what it is.

      @SpeedLabsMotorEnvy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Trying new things bro, chill. I'm usually solo on the channel but I wanted to give screen time to someone else. No money here, just a dude trying to have a good time driving cars.

    • @sachellebabbar9005
      @sachellebabbar9005 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I gave constructive, deep, and grounded criticism and of course, "chill bro" is the answer. Also people don't like being treated as of dumb. It should be accepted that the scripting, style, and execution rub people the wrong way and are outdated, taken into consideration, and moved on from, but of course, defensiveness. Not to mention, it transparently appears as not a review, but a reverse engineering review or confirmation bias l, structured to give a win to German automakers with a price conclusion completely out of touch with the reality of the situation.

    • @SuperSlowHD
      @SuperSlowHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @TrackDay I think you should just look at this comment as a compliment. The dude clearly thinks you're a full scale production with writers, editors, and people like some of those bigger channels. It seems like it's probably his first time watching your stuff. I think it’s a departure from your usual work and it needs some TLC, but knowing what goes into your videos, I think you'll figure it out in an episode or two. But to bring it back to the vid, I’m really digging the orange on the Kia. Never thought I’d say that either.
