Steve Wise I’m really considering buying one. I own a 5.0 mustang right now and want something more comfortable and practical without sacrificing too much power. How are you enjoying yours?
All Gas No Brakes I enjoy it. It’s comfortable and the ride is very quiet...until I put it into sport mode and take off. :) People are always asking me what it is or staring. I replaced the KIA badges with the Stinger Korean market logo, which is an E for Engineering Excellence or vice versa. I would suggest you extensively test drive one. Ask the dealership to let you drive the car for a half day or all day. If you’re married and/or have kids, take them along to determine whether they like it. Then, walk away and think about it for a day or two. You don’t want to make an emotional purchase, plus you need to negotiate the price down from the dealership. Don’t fall for the, “hey, I can’t promise you it will be on the lot tomorrow” bs. Whatever the dealer price, push to get the price down at least 3K. I made the dealership sweat for three days and didn’t budge from my OTD price. Also, don’t buy any additional warranties.
PewDie Pie the dealer showed me a sticker price of 54k...which was of course ridiculous and not an actual MSRP...many KIA dealerships are doing the same with the Telluride. I paid a little less than 48k.
This vehicle is worth the price. I understand the stigma behind Kias, their cars use to be super bad. The brand has come along way and is obliterating other brands in some segments. The value you get for the price is incredible. Plus, I really love the look of this car... put any other brand badge and it’s easily $65,000.
I like how he tells the features and then shows you in action, for example " he mentioned how the car looks aggressive from the side rearview mirrors and the goes on to show it in action, same as the headlights at night and so on " great detail.
I don't get the stigma of the KIA brand. At least you don't see them recalling over 3million cars for transmission failure (Ford) or having ignition switch problems which killed several people (GM). People will pay over 50k a day long for a Ford, GM or Dodge and do not even think about it and their cars are not even in the same class as a KIA.
Kia Stinger is not worth the hype, because the dealership experience is subpar, and the car is only decent not that special and it lacks character, Kia has come a long way however they still have a long way to go.
@@karsenwall2772 That is true, although the Kia Telluride is slightly better from a value standpoint, the Stinger is Kia's best value for a performance offering, it just didn't do it for me though.

Great review, absolutely love the stinger, definitely my next car! Not gonna lie though, I was hoping for some more night shots like you did for the base model, still great job love what your doing with the channel!
Forrest, you mentioned that the Stinger has an eight speed dual clutch transmission. As far as I know that's not correct. The eight speed transmission is a traditional torque converter unit. In fact, though it's tuned differently, it's the same AT as in the KIA Sorento and Telluride.
It’s not the same as the Sorento and Telluride. Those are FWD transmissions. It’s the same transmission as is in the Genesis G70, G80, G90 and the Kia K900
I have the GT2 2019. Now at 7k miles. I love it. Since 2010, Kia is nothing like it used to be. The stigma exist from the old models that are far from the reality anymore. This is reflected in KIAs ability to guarantee for 60k and now 100k. I had an optima for 6 years to 90k miles. No maintenance required beyond normal intervals. I stepped up and love the stinger.
I remember sitting in one of these at the dealership. It felt very comfortable and sporty at the same time. Everything was nice to the touch. Illl have to test driveone
I take delivery of a new Stinger GT (in Australia) next week. This has been the best video review of the car I have seen, and one of the most thorough reviews of any car I've seen, come to think of it. So thanks!!
Solid, quality review. Subbed. Keep up the good work! I thought your criticisms were fair. The stinger is not a track car, it's a grand tourer and I think it does that job with the best of em.
They are a tuners dream. Super easy bolt-on mods unleash almost undrivable power. It's dumbed down out of the factory because of their stellar warranty (and still quick AF), but the engineers knew what they were doing. Really easy to gain HP in this.
I’m looking to buy a G70 in a couple of years. Certified pre owned is the way to go!!! Let someone else at the deprecation. I sold high end luxury cars for almost 20 years until 2010 when sales went in the toilet then I moved to the Hyundai brand. Love em.
I’d get the Genesis over the KIA, but remember I’m a Hyundai/Genesis fanboy. All the great KIA cars are cheaper versions of the Hyundai/Genesis brand. Hyundai bought the controlling interest of KIA a few years ago. Via request of their government. Hyundai is currently selling KIA back their part of their interest. So I have been told. I’m all about Hyundai. I was very impressed with their customer service, however that was MY dealer. I can’t speak for others but Hyundai is awesome. Our 2015 Elantra Limited has been trouble free!
Glad to hear you like it. I’m thinking about getting an Elantra Sport Turbo with the 6 speed stick. Love the new multi link rear end they are now putting in the Sport exclusively. The G70 will have to wait a few years until their available as a certified pre owned unit. Il let someone else pay the deprecation! I learned a thing or two selling cars for 20 or so years.
Nice in depth review. But you forgot the subwoofers. In fact you didn't demonstrate the Harman Kardon system at all or even mention HK, which I think is a selling point; Fifteen speakers! Also, a mention of the NAV and showing it on the screen should have been a point to cover. I have a MY18 GT1.
My apologies, the system is great but it's very hard to portray audio quality through a video. I've gone out of my way a few times to showcase it but only if I think it's worth it. This HK system is fantastic but I couldn't justify putting it in the video. I do apologize for not mentioning it at all though! It truly is a good system.
I don't get why the Kia gets flack for having fake vents on the hood? Yet the new Supra has way more fake vents all over the car and no one says a thing...
You do realise that it first appeared as a concept car at an international motor show in 2011. So maybe the cars you mention look like it, not the other way around. Especially so since the developers/designers are actually Germans poached from Audi, Porsche and BMW m division.
I test drove it a few months ago and it really is a nice and powerful car. However I ended up purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned Lexus GS 350 AWD with 8k miles on it. If I had the money for the Stinger though I would've bought it but it was just too much for me. I'm starting to see more and more Stingers on the road now but I'm very happy with my GS.
I’m test driving the blue Gt2 but I will be looking to buy the panthera metal gray with the light grey interior, but it appears they haven’t made many w light grey int. Was there a defect w that color?
Great review! I bought a 2018 GT2 new a month ago for $39k after rebates. Love the car so much, really wish the 2018 had parking camera and heated rear seats!!! Maybe a Kia aftermarket install option?
Really like this hatch form and we have choices! Regal Sportback, Arteon, this, Audi A5/7, Panamera. Since we won't buy wagons, it's nice to see we have some other options that are practical.
Gotta believe the RWD is quicker than AWD weighing 200 pounds less and with the same amount of traction. My RWD has little or no slippage at take off...nice review & I love my ceramic silver Stinger!
Great review but please use an on-body mic instead of the build-in mic of the camera. It's just really difficult to hear you with ambient noises and from a distance. Thanks
AI from Kia of East Syracuse, NY here. For 2020 You folks have a choice of 4 trim packages. GT Line, GT, GT-1 & GT-2. GT Line comes with a 2.0 L GDI Twin Scroll Turbocharged Theta II 16V DOHC D-CVVT 4 cyl. eng. w/ an electronically controlled 8 spt trans w/ Sportmatic. available in rear and awd. The other 3 trim packages come with 3.3 L GDI Twn Turbo Lambda II 24V DOHC D-CVVT also with the Sportmatic Electronically controlled 8 spd trans. Paddle options make these cars just amazing to drive. Not going to get into every option here. Point is for 2020, the Stinger went from really great to amazing. The Stinger and the Telluride, the hottest selling SUV in the industry, are actually becoming bench marks for other auto makers to follow. Nobody laughs at Kia any more. To the contrary, it's the looks of amazement when new customers come to the dealership and see these vehicles. So check out Kia.com and Kdealer.com and see for yourself. Go test drive one. If you're lucky enough to find a 2019 2.0 L Twin Scroll turbo on a lot? The MSRP is in the $36,000 range plus buyer incentives, you'd be crazy to pass it up. BMW, Audi, Mercedes and some Porsche drivers usually sees a Stinger from the tail light view as it pulls away into the horizon.
Once in a Harley's comet rare cycle, the galaxy aligns for a marque to thrust one stupendous nonconformist goldilocks product at a stuck up market....to cause the most unexpected amount of disruption! The Stinger GT has done this for Kia....with amazing results!
I'm not sure where you live, but when its winter, those side air vents are there to heat up the window so you can see. That's why they are pretty tight to the side.
Apparently the vents are fake because they would create too much lift with air going into the hood and passing under the car at 140mph+, and it wasn't cost effective to hook them up to the air intakes at the price point. According to a tech at my local dealer who's somewhat of an enthusiast ;)
You say “are going to be” and “are going to have” as if it hasn’t come out yet? Instead you should say “the headlights ARE LED. The vents ARE functional” etc.
Awesome review, thank you! Fake vents, why? And give me 18" wheels for comfort and better ride. Make the 19" an option. Also give me a manual transmission or just offer the 3.8L naturally aspirated motor which is a beast already!
I want this car as much because it's a KIA as I do because it's a good car. I don't want the comments and judgement that come with driving expensive premium brands. At work or talking with other parents at my kids school, if they ask about my new car I can say "It's just a KIA" and the little annoying comments stop. Buy a BMW or Audi etc. and little small barriers of socioeconomic judgement can go up even with the nicest most humble people. Used to be that way with fast Subaru's 10+ years ago like Legacy GT etc.
One thing I don't like about KIA is the range indicator has a gas pump icon and next to it is an arrow. So if you look at the range and you see an arrow with a gas pump, you are thinking to yourself it must indicate which side the fuel cap is located. WRONG! you have to look at the fuel level to see where the fuel cap is actually located.

Funny True Story... I had a Mustang 2019 Model on Order..... Was waiting and waiting with delay after delay. One Saturday i was going back home from once more visiting my ford dealer to see when i would be taking delivery. Anyhow on way home i stopped at the Local Kia dealer as there was a Bright Yellow Stinger GT in the front. I decided to take it for a test drive...... Oh man this thing blew me away , not only did it look great but on the road it was like a bat out of hell..... Better sitting position than the Stang, More comfortable, Better Sitting Position, Better Tech, Better Sound System.... Better Quality, SIMPLY a much better car. I went straight back to the Ford Dealer and Canceled.... It took 30 minutes but finally got them to see my point of view. After i went back straight to the KIA Dealer and place an order for a Pearl White With Red Interior,Tinted Windows and Sports Exhaust......... So happy i did not buy the Mustang... Fantastic Car and the long trips listening to music Via TIDAL is a wonderful drive. I get excited each time i take her our of the Garage... '

Great review Forrest! This is a really stylish looking car and I really do like that colour. One thing you didn't mention is the pano sun roof (unless I missed that bit of your video). There have been a number of reports by UK owners that the sun roof rattles, even with the cover in place. Small point but this would really irritate me even though I was driving such a fine beast. Interested in your/anyone elses' comments. Incidentally you can obtain a very upmarket Kia badge from certain websites for bonnet, steering wheel and tailgate which seem to get decent customer feedback
He mentioned the "moonroof". You missed it. The "rattle" is hit and miss, with most Stinger's not having any extraneous noises at all; like mine; totally silent. But you're right, enough vehicles do have a "rattle", either sunroof or hatch (the easiest to rectify, from what read), that it needs to be mentioned.
I don't get it. This is ultimately a Kia Stinger review...just a year late. I clicked on this assuming it was after one year of ownership. The Stinger is one of the most widely reviewed and compared car.

It’s not the same as the Sorento and Telluride. Those are FWD transmissions. It’s the same transmission as is in the Genesis G70, G80, G90 and the Kia K900
@@Animal1984 Same transmission, different drive trains.
8spd auto from ZF
Murry Dickso Do you have some support for that claim? Never heard that it has a ZF Tranny in anything I’ve seen or read.
After watching your review I like my Stinger even better.
Excellent review man.....practical, daily driver focussed (not how it does on the track where no one will take it)....great job. Subscribed!
I remember sitting in one of these at the dealership. It felt very comfortable and sporty at the same time. Everything was nice to the touch. Illl have to test driveone
Imo this car has more quality than most of the ''expensive'' cars. It doesnt feel plasticy.
I take delivery of a new Stinger GT (in Australia) next week. This has been the best video review of the car I have seen, and one of the most thorough reviews of any car I've seen, come to think of it. So thanks!!
Great review! I love the interior
Kia is really stepping it up👍🏾
I love owning a Kia they have stepped their game up so much
Solid, quality review. Subbed. Keep up the good work! I thought your criticisms were fair. The stinger is not a track car, it's a grand tourer and I think it does that job with the best of em.
Chad Belinfanti Glad to have you as a sub! Feel free to drop suggestions of reviews in my community section!
Great review! So glad you don’t have annoying loud music in the background to where I can’t hear what you are saying. Gorgeous ride!
Nice reviews! I took the plunge on base GT in micro blue. I like it more and more each day.
Hands down best review video for this specific car!
In depth and really descriptive throughout!
Keep it up brah
I don't get why the Kia gets flack for having fake vents on the hood? Yet the new Supra has way more fake vents all over the car and no one says a thing...
ELLIPSIS....Agreed. Honda CTR is covered with fake vents and everyone loves it.
@@johnholst don't even get me started on that thing. Somebody didn't know when to put the pencil down when designing it.
@@dreadnaut1269 I agree! But it looks great...if you're in Fast and Furious.
The Supra vents cover real vent tunnels.
The 2020 stinger doesn't have the KIA badge on the rear anymore. It has STINGER in huge letters across the rear.
In UK and got an orange GTS on order. 4 weeks to go!!!!
These cars look amazing on the street so when the time is right I will get one 🙏 !!! One day .
The part I like about the Kia Stinger GT it looks like a BMW on the outside but Mercedes on the inside
Sidekick1107 Not really.
Looks like a Audi A7 by the way haha
Looks like a sporty Optima to me with more of a fastback. On the inside, I don't know. It's nice.
You do realise that it first appeared as a concept car at an international motor show in 2011. So maybe the cars you mention look like it, not the other way around. Especially so since the developers/designers are actually Germans poached from Audi, Porsche and BMW m division.
@@ErikGarcia-hz4jc yeah does has a like an Audi touch to it
I really appreciate your stile of reviewing. Very detailed and you actually show all the buttons, switches and features. Well done dude!
I just heard an ad TODAY on the radio for 10k off a Stinger. They don't sell but I like them. I wish they had K900 features and interior.
amill1563 so just internet hype
Typical bloated discount claims of ads. They ought to be illegal.
Great review man!! I picked up a 2021 Stinger GT RWD a few days ago! Super happy!
Got mine 6/14/19.....GT2 AWD WHITE......just an AMAZING machine....biggest gripe is smallish fuel tank but hey , can't have everything
GOT mine 6/26/19 in White also but it's a GT1 still a great ride and beautiful car!!
What color is your interior?
@@dianeratliff3023 nappa leather red....looks amazing....
@@dianeratliff3023 I have the red interior.
I’m test driving the blue Gt2 but I will be looking to buy the panthera metal gray with the light grey interior, but it appears they haven’t made many w light grey int. Was there a defect w that color?
How do you not have more subscriptions. Been watching all your videos - and you are one of the best on TH-cam. Keep up the excellent work.
Ceramic Silver......🔥👌 GT1 shall be in my driveway
This channel deserves 1M sub
I have the stinger gt for one year and 3 months with 27.000 miles and runs great .
Nice! I agree blacked out wheels would looked more dope in this car especially in this color scheme.
Really honestly considering buying one. Love the ceramic silver and the orange is fantastic as well. I will be test driving one this weekend 👍
Did you get it ?
Oh wow one of your old reviews of yours awesome your so calm here 🤯
Most exciting thing about starting a new career soon, I’ll be upgrading my car and this is in my top 5 choices. I want to test drive this so badly.
Great review! I bought a 2018 GT2 new a month ago for $39k after rebates. Love the car so much, really wish the 2018 had parking camera and heated rear seats!!! Maybe a Kia aftermarket install option?
Doug DeMuro calls that chrome on the front reflective material LOL got a love that guy. He’s the best
Really like this hatch form and we have choices! Regal Sportback, Arteon, this, Audi A5/7, Panamera. Since we won't buy wagons, it's nice to see we have some other options that are practical.
facts!
I leased the Basic model and I am super happy with it so far ( 2 years already) and I am going to lease 3.3 next year 😍
I just purchased my stinger today .... Excited
Gotta believe the RWD is quicker than AWD weighing 200 pounds less and with the same amount of traction. My RWD has little or no slippage at take off...nice review & I love my ceramic silver Stinger!
I might add that the lsd in RWD is the difference maker negating AWD unless you live in a snow belt region.
Great review but please use an on-body mic instead of the build-in mic of the camera. It's just really difficult to hear you with ambient noises and from a distance. Thanks
Kia stinger- Yay!
Corvette C8- Whoo!
Zupra- Whoo?
That back road by that Subaru dealer is the best, hence why they use it during their test drives.
Fun to watch the video, as you can tell that this guy loves his car!!! Which he should, I can't wait to get one.
Great review as always Forrest. Question for you; would you take the Stinger or Arteon?
Things I like: The car overall.
Things I don’t like: Fake vents, anemic v6 sound, and the placement of the screen.
Great job with the review! Everything explained thoroughly..... Can't wait to get one. Waiting to see if i want the refresh or a leftover.
Another great video. The Kia Stinger is still a great car. I thought the car came with Apple and Android Auto Play. Thanks for sharing.
Tommy Knighton It does, just wasn’t able to show android auto. My apologies to all android owners for not mentioning it! 😟
@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial No worries and have a great weekend.
"This thing books". Holy crap, I haven't said that in years!!!
Once I graduate I'm getting this beauty!
This car is on my wish list. I've heard that there are some quality issues. Is that true for any GT stinger owners??
Awesome review, thank you! Fake vents, why? And give me 18" wheels for comfort and better ride. Make the 19" an option. Also give me a manual transmission or just offer the 3.8L naturally aspirated motor which is a beast already!
I think there is a GT-S model that has adaptive dampers which gives it a better ride not sure :/
I love my GT2! It's definitely worth the hype!
I see the BMW influence front the front, great job though forest
Thank you so much!
Front the front!
You have came so far bro! I love your videos!
Just bought a used one with 8k miles. 36k OTD AWD
Manny G ive heard some issues of a rattling noise in the cabin, do you hear any of that?
@@muntasiramile8134 haven't drove it that much lol I literally got a few days ago lol
But I haven't noticed anything like that so far. I listen for it tho
The transmission is not a dual-clutch like you mentioned. It's a torque convertor
Funny True Story... I had a Mustang 2019 Model on Order..... Was waiting and waiting with delay after delay. One Saturday i was going back home from once
more visiting my ford dealer to see when i would be taking delivery.
'
Not crazy about the red but even it were the last one I would still get ot cause it's so nice on the outside & inside
Here's a thing coasting in Eco mode uses more fuel , because modern vehicles cut the fuel on lift off , under pure engine breaking you don't use any fuel , on modern vehicles , eco mode is a gimmic .
Add more power, bigger and more responsive turbine, bigger intercooler, stiffer suspension.
I don't get it. This is ultimately a Kia Stinger review...just a year late. I clicked on this assuming it was after one year of ownership. The Stinger is one of the most widely reviewed and compared car.
221ddj thats what i thought too
I wanna know why we hardly see these anywhere ! They are nice!
Bonnet vents are a styling feature, nothing wrong with that. The mini cooper s had a fmic and still kept the bonnet vent
they shouldn't have put fake vents on there... that's my 2 cents
The 8AT transmission is not a Dual-Clutch like you stated at 22:20. It's a conventional torque converter automatic.
Otherwise, great review!
This car with an 8 or 9 speed DCT would be so good! Hopefully they'll have an upgraded transmission when the lease on my GT2 is over.
Strange, but other reviewers complain about the ride being too soft for sport driving. Nice job, regardless.
