Thanks ... Because of you, I have overcome my fear of flying and I flew for the first time on Vacation with my Fiancé, last year in May. I have watched your Videos over and over again and it helped me understand that flying is not more dangerous than taking the train ...
Thanks for this video, I really enjoyed how you showed the great scenery over the Rockies & Grand Canyon etc. I suppose with a flight of 5 hours it's disappointing to have just one small snack, but you can always bring a little something in your personal item. I recently flew United from Australia to UK via the USA & was very happy with the whole trip - in economy. The main thing to me is to get there safely, I don't expect much comfort / luxury for the great economy price. The cabin crew were helpful & professional. I guess we are all different - after many years travelling I prefer to fly economy (with a solid airline) & spend a few hundred dollars on a layover or on arrival at a mid price hotel where I can enjoy a drink, hot shower & a good sleep in a real bed. Please continue to do these lovely videos.
I flew United Premium Plus a few months ago, EWR-MXP-EWR, 777-300. I loved it! The premium upgrade wasn’t terribly expensive, and the service and comfort were so much better than Economy. Flying United Premium again in April to Brussels and Naples.
Premium Economy is always a great experience... the problem is that those seats are usually over the wings and the views out of the window are covered buy them... so for making videos are not the best seats...
That sure was a good flight. It was really good that you got to see the Grand Canyon & the Rocky Mountains. I actually live in the Rocky’s, in Montana. 😃✈️
Thanks Nick! Glad that you've enjoyed this Trip Report! I love making these routes from coast to coast in the US. The landscapes are always breathtaking! It's sad that not so many people are interested in these trips... they always get clearly less views than the average videos. But for sure I will keep doing them :)
I had to go through my travel photos to find out the last time I flew on UA, and it was in 2009. UA was still the only US big 3 carrier that was flying into Dubai at the time. Business class back then on their 777s was 2-3-2 of wider-width seats, more foot room, & better catering. You were watching Armageddon, and at 10:05, the guy in the row in front of you was watching a Bill Burr comedy special.
I wish the 3 big ones in the US would offer a proper meal service in economy on this 5-6h flights from coast to coast... We'll be uploading some more US flights on the next weeks, including Hawaii :))
Welcome back Sir .. MashaAllah absolutely another spectacular beautiful fabulous uploading , lovely content vloggs trip report and you nailed it again .. appreciate most of your videos adventures .. have a wonderful blessing weekend, take care stay safe .. TQSM from Mtl Cdn ..
Thanks for your trip report. I moved from Boston to LA 40 years ago. I've taken United's over night LAX to BOS flight many times. A bonus for me was when you showed Lowell, MA on the approach to BOS, you showed my childhood home in Chelmsford, MA on the lower edge of the screen. Thank you for that bit of nostalgia!
JetBlue mint from LAX to BOS would have been the best way to make that trip. United does ok, but their catering and hospitality is usually not up to par.
Last year I’ve flown on a United Boeing 737-800 from Tampa to San Francisco. About 5 hours of flying time. So I’m really curious about the differences!
It's a race to the bottom for in-flight service among the major US carriers. There is no such thing as service here. Back in 1976 when my mom and I flew from Sacramento to Jacksonville, FL via Chicago, we got breakfast from Sacramento and lunch from Chicago. Two different airlines, but very friendly on both.
Yea unfortunately here in the states you don't see service on domestic flights anymore. Europe has changed since the pandemic hit and they are starting to have people pay for service. Back in the day 1 hour flights in Europe would include a drink, snack, a small sandwich, and then another drink service such as coffee or tea. Everyone trying to compete with the low-cost carriers by still charging full prices
Well, looks like in Europe we're following the same path... at the moment only AirFrance-KLM offer some kind of food and drinks included on the ticket in short/medium haul routes... At least, some other airlines that don't give any kind of catering included on the ticket, are starting to offer some kind of good quality pre-ordered meals. I guess that's the future...
Great report as always. At beginning we saw a B737 you said destination Lihue. Probably wrong destination as that’s 4500 miles away. Keep up the good work. Keith
Another Stellar Trip Report my friend and loved every minute. Quick question - how do you find out the names of the mountains etc that you fly over for your reports?
as ever, great video. I think the airline has the wrong strategy regarding food and drink. however, it all depends on how many other airlines fly the same route!

My experience with UA was that either everything went great or everything went horribly wrong and finally I said enough is enough and I don't fly them unless it is absolutely necessary. AA and DL aren't much better!
The landscape is just stunning! I can’t believe they make you pay for a meal on a transcontinental flight. I guess that is what you can expect from a US based airline. I hate to say that, but, in this country, money seems to be all that matters. On a more positive note, this is a great review, and, like I said, in another comment, I would love to take a flight on the MAX. By the way, I don’t want to knock this country because it is beautiful and I have been through 18 states myself. I was born in Sweden.
Well, take into account that it wa carrying fuel for a 5h+ flight, full of passengers and full of bags. It's normal that the takeoff run is longer than for other flights :)

Enjoyed your video (as I do all you have made and I have watched). Keep up the good work. Am surprised that a big airline like United would charge for food on a 5 hour flight across the US. Am not aware of any other airlines that have the same practice.
Thanks a lot, Rob! The onboard service should be much better for a 5h flight... The point is that on the opposite direction the flight is almost 6h and the service is the same,...
@@OnBoardHD Just this information makes me re-think any future travels with United. Being in Canada, my spouse and I always drive to Buffalo and fly with Southwest Airlines out of Buffalo/Niagara Int'l Airport to any and all destinations in the US. We find Buffalo Airport extremely efficient and Southwest a decent carrier for our purposes.
Well, if I don't see the engine from my seat, it doesn't make a lot of sense to say anything about them... there's only 1 engine type for the MAX: the CFM Leap.
As always, I truly enjoyed your report, but this just confirmed what I already believe...flying a domestic US flight is just an AVERAGE experience at best. No matter how the airlines try to spin it, service onboard US carriers is just mediocre. There was nothing about that flight that made me want to fly UA. They don't even offer a decent buy on board product. I guess the best thing I can say is that you arrived to Boston safely. It really is sad. Again though, I did enjoy your report although I'm sorry that you had to experience such average service.

Sounds great. Congratulations. Keep in mind that flying is one of the absolute safest ways to travel, if not the safest.
While United makes a passenger feel like self moving cattle, the views from the plane were amazing.
Glad that you've enjoyed the Trip Report :)
I flew on a united 777 from Honolulu to Chicago a few months ago. It was a good experience and the food was good. Nice video!
I will be flying soon to Honolulu! Not from Chicago, but it will be from the US :)

I give you two thumbs up on the review. It was really fun to watch. Overall, the MAX looks like a great airplane to fly on! 👍👍

This one goes through Colorado ;)
Compared to other aircrafts, The Boeing 737 MAX 9 is a real quiet aircraft. I always enjoy flying in them.
I agree. I found it a really comfortable plane 👍
Yet the MAXs have a low reputation due to some incidents they've been going through.
Didn't sound quiet to me when I took it. I couldn't hear any comparisons to be honest.
Nice trip report mate and choice views across the country from California to Massachusetts!
Thanks a lot!
The US offers amazing ladnscapes :)
As always thank you for the tour. 😊
If you take off toward the ocean you probably took off from runway 24R, not 7R
It was the 25R, correct.
JetBlue mint from LAX to BOS would have been the best way to make that trip. United does ok, but their catering and hospitality is usually not up to par.
haha Of course... but the prices are also much different! :D
Still better than AA
The United fleet 8 airplanes US destinations & Worldwide destinations that's amazing.
I always enjoy flying with United... but the onboard experience (catering part) should be much better on a 5h flight...
Well,that was nice!
Looks like the Max is doing better now!
It's a really comfortable plane. It's super silent, even behind the engines as on this trip, which makes it perfect for a 4-5h flight.
Why does the take off from RWY 7R face the Pacific Ocean in the west?
Can you do a flight to Washington Dulles (KIAD)?
I don't have it on the map for now... but for sure we'll do it at some point. Probably during summer or so, :)
Great video but that takeoff was from runway 25R not 07R!
I know, when we start taxi I wrote the correct rwy... then the incorrect one... =/
