You did a great job explaining the process, thank you! Could you put the tile in heat press after you trim the laminate and sublimate on it, to shrink the laminate again to not have rough edges?
I used a wood burning tool and went around the edges and it smoothed them out perfectly! I'd make sure your tips is clean. I did a vintage look so it only helped but I have an old tool called HOTmarks I think that I never used and I will use that from now on.
Thank you for this clear video. I have been searching for something like this . I bought the tiles and knew there had to be a way to sub on them. Now I need to learn the same for glass blocks…similar method??
hi htere if i use this same method and make coasters instead will i be able to placce a hot cup of tea on top of the coaster or will the laminate melt?
Hi! What is the thickness of the laminating pouches? 3 mil? 5mil? or thicker maybe? And do those tiles come like that? Can you post the link of the tiles please? Thy have different sizes... Thank you!
I was wondering the same. The video says 480 seconds at 400° for sublimation. She did not mention how long to press the laminate on tile for prepping the tile.
How do you get your edges to look nice and clean. My laminate edges aren’t nice and smooth. Some sides are but others aren’t. I did my exacto knife the same way you said. Yours look so nice!
I haven't done anymore of these. I did not have any air bubbles in mine so I not sure what you would do. I guess you could try to take a pin and pop it and reheat/press the tile to see if it will stick. make sure your tile if face down so the face of the tile is on your foam mat.
You can't sublimate in an oven that is used for food. But if you have a convection oven that is only for sublimation I'm sure you could get some of the sublimation shrink wrap that is used with tumblers and do it in a convection oven(that is not used to cook food in). I don't know about the iron it needs to be able to get to the 400° and have constant firm pressure, I'm also afraid that the steam hole in the iron will leave places on the tile where it did not get the heat/pressure it needs. I hope this helps
I measured my tile and made it a little bigger and just made a square. Then on my shilouette program I downloaded a picture that I took of my tile and traced it and made a template then sized it to get my images centered. I will see if I can make a video on that. I think it sounds confusing when I type it out lol.
I used silhouette and bought the file from designbundles.net. I do use vinyl just not on this tile. If you would like to see something with vinyl I can do that are you wanting to see something for tiles, shirts, or decals. I will do a video on how I designed the image.

Thank you. You could try had not thought about that
I used heat gun n melted flat on edges good after i watched this

That was great, very beautiful results!!

Thank you! I was putting my laminate on upside down (shiny side up). I can't wait to try again now. :)
Hope it helps. Good luck and thank you for commenting 🙂
When you say shiny side up...does it mean shiny side touch the white side of tile???
Thank you so much! It worked perfectly. I did 2 at one time. They came out beautifully!!
That's awesome you are very welcome
i did a couple came out nice but when i started trimming the edges noticed it lifting alittle and it peeled rgt off hope do i stop that

Thank you sweet baby jesus someone put a video up! I've messed up sooooo many tile!
Your welcome hope it helps
Do you press the laminate sheet onto the tile first and then let it cool then add the image? I think you did but just want to make sure
yes I did. make sure it is cool so you don't get the ghost effect
Where did you find those images?
Thank you so much. Do you mirror your image when sublimating on the ceramic tile?
Yes I do, most everything I mirror
Do you use the 400 for 480 formula to adhere the laminate? Also what amount of pressure should we use?
Yes. I use firm pressure
@@robinmann1491 thank you!
Your welcome
How long is the first press on just the lamination sheet ? (before you press the image)
She said 480 seconds at 400° on both presses I believe.
Love these❤️what size did you print out the design? I'm struggling to get the right size
My prints are 4.534x3.866
@@robinmann1491 thats a home depot one right? i have lowes
@@kittykat1024 i am using the ones from lowes
Robin - how long do you press the laminate on your tile and what degree please. Thanks for the great video.
480 seconds at 400°F
Your welcome thank you for watching i will be doing more i have had a flood of orders so I haven't had time to stop and make a video.
I was wondering the same. The video says 480 seconds at 400° for sublimation. She did not mention how long to press the laminate on tile for prepping the tile.
It is the same for the laminate and image 400° for 480 seconds

I just keep going over it till I like it make small sawing motions
I'd like to see how to remove the air bubbles from the laminate.

I followed everything you did but I'm getting bubbles. How do I avoid that?
Thank you
Can u use oven or iron if u don’t own heat press ?

When you put tile with just laminate, do you press the face down or face up?
Face down with the laminate and with the image.
@@robinmann1491 how long and temperature for laminate?
Never mind, found the answer down in the comments below. 😁
@@robinmann1491 what pressure? I pressed down and the tile cracked on firm pressure! 😳
Oh no I'm not sure how to tell you what pressure lighten up some and try using a silicone mat.
Are you using the tile template or how are you sizing your images cause mine came a little off with the measurements that you gave
I measured my tile and made it a little bigger and just made a square. Can you press more that 1 tile at a time?
I tried and got bubbles or my edges did not press good. You can try it but it did not work for me.
I did it my first time. They came out beautifully
What computer software do you use for the images? Would love video on this and if you used any vinyl before.
I used silhouette and bought the file from designbundles.net. I do use vinyl just not on this tile. If you would like to see something with vinyl I can do that are you wanting to see something for tiles, shirts, or decals. I will do a video on how I designed the image.

Ok I will see what I can do. I haven't done any vinyl on tile but I will see what I can do.
@@robinmann1491 thank you.
what do you print your sublimation image on?
I use sg1000 and I print on TexPrint-R paper and I use shilouette to design my images
What mm do you get in laminate?
I get the scotch thermal laminating pouches they are 3M
Thanks Robin I have been searching for a video on how to use the laminate with the tiles.
Your welcome I hope it helps
480 seconds
Oh my, those edges are horrible. I would never sell them looking like that. I wouldn't even give them away. Sorry to say.
