Otunba please go and watch the recent interview of king Sunny Ade's drummer Alhaji Tiamiyu Olaitan on youtube(Nigbati TV) He was the first Barrister's talking drummer as he said he left Barrister because Barrister told him that he wanted to go and create what was called Fuji (Evidence that Barrister was the creator of fuji)and he said he left Barrister to continue drumming for those who were singing Weere and he said Barrister was a giver,the Interviewer wanted him to talk about other fuji musicians which means the interviewer wanted him to say something about Wasiu Ayinde and Alhaji Tiamiyu said he can only talk about Barrister and Kollington as he didn't want to talk about next fuji musician which is K1,he said if he says something the so called fuji musician{K1} might want to slap him,that means the old man knew that Wasiu Ayinde lack manners,bros don't mind those supporting Wasiu Ayinde for his bad attitude.
Well said advice. I don't know why K1 is so arrogant and not listening and not doing the right thing as a leader to give peace. May Allah save him against Shaytan that is leading him to astray. I wish he goes on Social media to apologize to the family and fans of SAB. It's too bad for someone like K1 to allow this atrocities to continue with his uncaring and arrogant attitude to Barrister's legacy. SAB doesn't deserve this from someone like K1 at all. Let me put this straight and once, what is this controversy all about? I've gone to listen to the track from k1 once again but now with keen intrest, he started by giving honour to those that even Aare him self will respect then he went further to say these people sang fuji during the time of wèrè before it was now the turn of Aare and that he changed the face of the craft. Also went ahead to admonish kebe, he did not put his name next he called up some other names. So the question is how did he disrespect Aare. 2, Aare's style of fuji use to be 60/40 or 70/30 as the case may be, that is 40 or 30 percent of is personal composition and 60 or 70 percent of all other music by his(Aare) leaders. 3, fuji as always been for praises and if it means insulting your benefactor so be it. Also Aare enjoys this very well, one of k1's album "IBA" where k1 insulted kollington for Aare and some other people also do same on behalf of Aare, people like ALARA'GBO.
No one ever sang Fuji before Barrister. I am 70 years old today and can tell you categorically that the type of music sang in the 50s, 60s and 70s that sound like Fuji music was called WERE and it was during Ramadan festival that WERE singers use to come out at night to wake up the Muslim. Barrister was the first person eve,r to call his own WERE style to FUJI music and he made it everyday music. Wasiu did not understand the difference between WERE and Fuji. The tone may sound alike, but WERE was only for 30 fasting night in a year; while FUJI music, that was created by Barrister was created for everyday events, all year round music. Barrister did not claim that he created WERE, but he changed WERE music to Fuji by singing it in all occasions like weddings, birthdays, house warming etc. Wasiu behaved childishly by trying to rubbish what his mentor had created. I think Wasiu need social education in order to understand how to talk and behave as a famous person and over 60. Am sure he will be regretting his actions.
My take, leave k1 alone. Let God judge him. Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion either right or wrong. It is now left for his listeners to believe or disbelieve his opinion.
