    Thank you very much for this video! I thought I was going to have to remove the entire air intake and inlet to do this: a 4 hour job. I'm pleased to see this could be done with a simple crescent wrench too. I think I can do this under 30 minutes with this video's help. I think with the right flare nut-line wrench, it would be even easier.

      Setting aside the throttle body is not that difficult or time consuming. You can do it in 10 minutes and you will have more space to work in.

    Awesome thanks, I thought the Bolt Size below the Regulator is 22" but I tried 22 it was little too small, anyone knows the exact size of the Bolt?

      Sorry I'm late to the party. It's 24 mm. I just did mine yesterday. It is the same size that's on the regulator. I have a 1996 Oldsmobile Achieva 3.1 V6 which is very similar to the 3.4 V6 as seen here.

    I honestly don't know what's going on with my 2004 Pontiac Grand Am V6 it's the fuel something going on with the fuel replace the fuel pump fuel filter drove it around for about 2 hours go out to crank it today turn over but won't crank unless you put some ether stuff in there and spray it then it'll run

      Mine was a 1999.. had some finicky issues.. after the second blown head gasket, I had to say goodbye.. replaced it with a tundra.. no issues so far

      Check the fuel pressure, very easy to do rent one from the auto store for free. It hooks up to the fuel line. There is a schrader valve on it. Looks similar to filling up a bike tire. I'm sure there's a video on TH-cam.
      "Make sure you have good fuel pressure"
      -also while at autopart store renting the fuel pressure tester have them check for any engine codes even if the check engine light is not on.(it's free)

      Mine had that same issue when I first got it, turned out to be ac compressor. In the end I just took out the relay that controls it and here I am still driving it 110k miles later very few other repairs along the way.❤

    To anybody watching this video: where does the other end of that WHITE vacuum line go? Somehow this got disconnected in my car and I can't find it. I had to block off that vacuum port right next to the fuel pressure regulator. I have the 3100 engine though, this one is the 3400. The 3100 looks very similar though.

    • @SciHeartJourney
      @SciHeartJourney ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just a blocked off port!
      Never mind. 😄

    Soooooo I have a 2004 grand am and I had a studder when I I first start and accelerate but I'm curious can the fuel regulator make a whistle sound or it it a vacuum line or could it be both.

    • @ETPCYT
      @ETPCYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey KEITH, not too sure on that.. I had a few issues with mine and finally had to donate it.. I don't know about a whistle sound. I wish I was more helpful bro, SORRY :(

    • @jamesrice425
      @jamesrice425 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a whistle sound after I did my intake gasket. Easy way to find the vacuum leak is spray a little starting fluid near the suspected leak area. I had a leak on an injector o-ring and that is the method I used to find it. Hopefully this helps.
