I used this in my 10 x 12 shed. Lawnmowers, motorcycles and miscellaneous constantly hauled in and out. 5 years later, still looks the same as the day I painted it. Highly recommend this epoxy paint. I'm going to do this to the trailer I just bought. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video. Just purchased a new trailer and was looking for ideas. Also my heart lept when I saw you letting the kids help. I'm 70 and my kids say some of their best memories are of them helping with this kind of stuff. They mention it often that they are thankful they learned stuff early. Good job.
Just purchased one as well and I’ve been looking around at videos of what other people have done for their flooring. I’ve found this and then others doing just solid colors. This looks awesome and what I’m probably going to do to mine
Looks great... really brilliant compared to the stock wood finish... I'm happy to see others have done this, even if it does require touch ups I'm sure it'll make the wood last longer than without it as well as easy to clean up the mud and grease. Thanks for the great work and I'll be sure to have the gang get hands on with my project too!
I did my enclosed 7x16ft trailer ramp floor today. I used an extra coat of epoxy from what I learned on your 1yr update video. Its looking great. Only thing is I ran out of the blue flakes right before the ramp. Seems you had more than I did :-( I have an aluminum ramp cover I'm going to use in place of the ramp flakes. Thank for posting this!
Just to clarify about the product you're using it is the RockSolid Pollycuramine and not the Epoxy shield that offered from Rust-Oleum company. Hence, it is not an Epoxy based as their customer service recommended the Pollycuramine for wooden floors as such for enclosed trailers. I liked you video demo and thanks for showing.
Great video. Just woderin, I hav never seen a trailer with door on left side. Was this custom? I know some cameras record image backwards, but none of the text is backwards.
Myk, this turned out awesome. I've seen your follow up videos with everything you've done to your trailer. I'm in the process of painting mine and plan on doing the same to my floor. My question for you is after you applied this to the floor were you still able to see the screws? I'm asking because I too will be installing e track for my bike and I want to be sure to bolt them through the frame. Thanks for your time
will you be protecting the other side of the wood that is facing the outside elements? will you also be adding protection to the frame? will you use a bedliner material?
Hey is this better than Valspar exterior wood paint that is anti-skid/peel/scuff?? Should I put primer down before I apply it?? Just want to know because I might get this epoxy instead. Also what's the best thing to put underneath the trailer to protect it?? I live in Florida. Please help lol.
I didn't put down a primer and it's held up great. I would think just an undercoating product like this should work good for the under side: amzn.to/3UHDcEW
Good vid -- your cut in on the base boards looked like a blind person did it 🤣 How well is it holding up -- did you find it slippery with out the sand mixed in. Cheers
I see you used the 1 car garage Rock solid to do the entire interior and the sealed it with the 2.5 car clear sealer. Would you suggest going with the 2 car floor Rock Solid or would that be to much?
The 1 car garage kit of epoxy covered the floor and ramp. I also got the 2.5 clear epoxy as a top coat and that was too much, but I put a very thick coat on it.
Can I have the guys (children) for about 2 weeks. They are great. Nice job. I will not charge you for child care. All of them were great. I'm a great cook , I'll feed them well. NO Charge.
Epoxy probably isn't the best choice for a trailer because it's not flexible and trailers tend to flex a lot it dries hard like glass and unless the surface is dust free and oil free it doesn't adhere good and it takes forever to dry At work, we power washed the floors moped them acid washed them It's great on a concrete floor Even after that, sometimes it would fail within a year or so I'd probably use vinyl plank flooring because if it gets damaged, you can easily replace the bad sections I like the rubber mats that snap together like puzzle pieces and it's not slick and cargo doesn't slide around on it and you can replace it cheap and easy Harbor freight sells it cheap!!!
Did it turn out to be really slick when raining? I plan on doing this to my trailer delivering furniture rain or shine. Wondering if I need to add the non slip additive.
@@Myksgarage ok thanks! I will get the non slip additive as well. Do you have the non slip on the garage floor? Should I put it in with my garage floor too? I just want to be able to easily squeegee garage floor and wondering if the grit will make it hard to do that.
@@Myksgarage Awesome thank you for the reply My 6yo son races dirt bikes and we are always traveling so ive been doing lots of research to turn our cargo trailer into a camper/ toy hauler and was looking around for floor ideas and I like this idea seems like it would be easy to clean out too once were done.

How big is your trailer and how much epoxy did it take. I have 8.5x24 plus the ramp. Didn't know how much epoxy I would have to buy.

Cool kids and cool dad as well
Cool comment!! 👍
I thought the same. Really loved see the youngin's working side-by-side with their Dad. Made my day!
That’s awesome your kids helped!
Yeah they were good helpers! Thanks for watching
You've got some good helpers right there! I loved the way the floor turned out. I will do that to my enclosed trailer.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great video! I just ordered the epoxy from your link and I pick up my new trailer tomorrow! 🙌
Awesome! Good luck with your epoxy project, it's very straightforward, I would use the included sand to give the floors more grip when it's wet
I’ll definitely do that. Thanks for the tip!
Great job. Love how you just poured it out of the bag instead of putting it in a bucket are pan, great idea.
Yeah that worked out great. Btw, I’m a fan of your music! 😀
Looks Great! It’s also good to see you teaching your boys….that’s gonna pay off. Peace and Blessings
Thanks for your positive comment!
I’m buying a trailer picking it up Tuesday. I may go this route. I was going to use deck paint on the floor. But I like this more.
Yeah I'm glad I did this.
So I the clear coat an option or does it have to be done?

Great job. I’ve done one trailer floor in bed liner, but next will be your method. Hope you have wall paint left for your service door on trailer 😊
Sounds good

I decided against the epoxy flooring on
my enclosed trailer because I thought it would flex too much and crack. How is it holding up?
About a year later and it's perfect, No issues or cracking at all

great idea! Looks great!

If you hammer some nails through a 2x4 you can use them as shoes and walk on the epoxy while you’re spreading and casting
Good tip
Nice clean deck. Well done, sir. :)
Thanks, it turned out great, im glad i went this route
Nice job on the trailer!
Thanks! The epoxy has held up great. I
Well, I have a trailer, I have enough paint, i have roll, I have everthing prepared to paint, except kids' help. LOL

How well has it held up after bouncing down the road, flexing, etc?

If you had to do it again. What would you do differently?
I would have added non-skid to the clear coat so it's not as slippery

@@Myksgarage just to be clear would the best option have been the 2.5 car garage kit of rust oleum rock solid?
Hey I watched your video, great job! How has it held up?
A couple of years later, and it's holding up great
What did you use for primer and paint on the walls and how much did it take? Thank you
I did like like 2 coats of primer. I just used regular latex wall paint.
I have the same size trailer. How many epoxy kits did you need for interior floor and gate?
The 1 car garage kit of epoxy covered the floor and ramp. I also got the 2.5 clear epoxy as a top coat and that was too much, but I put a very thick coat on it.

I'm looking into getting the black version of this do u think if I mixed in some color pigment I could get it to have a purple tint to it?
Yeah that could work

Just did a light sanding, and then pressure washed it out
Did it turn out to be really slick when raining? I plan on doing this to my trailer delivering furniture rain or shine. Wondering if I need to add the non slip additive.
Yes, it is slick, I wish I would've added the nonslip sand to the clearcoat that would help a lot

Why would the door be on the driver's side instead of the passenger side, please let me know
For easier access to the driver door of a side by side UTV
What clear coat did you use?
Just the same brand but clear epoxy
amzn.to/3W9GULr
How has this held up a year later?
It's been awesome, it still looks new
Rubber mat flooring with a diamond texture is better than epoxy but it does cost more that’s for sure
Yes, I consider that option as well
Do you feel you really needed to sand the floor first?
I'm not sure, mine was used and had some wear so I did just so I could get good adhesion
@@Myksgarage mine is used has stains and other imperfections. I guess I should probably sand for adhesion as well...
How did you like the tires that you put on it?
The tires were great, no issues, but it's only been 9 months

Alittle bit slippery, I should have added the non skid to the clear coat

Not too long, about 4 hours total
How long did you wait before you added the clear coat?
I waited 24 hours
Thank you!
I just did on my enclosed trailer about weak still sticky now I can not use
I hope before winter get dry 😢😢😢😢😢
Did you do the clear coat?
Yess I did
Step by step reason I seen u videos what's I can used too fix that tanks

Yeah it’s A little bit slippery when wet. I don’t see any problems with this holding up to heavier bikes.

Very well. Used it a few times, it’s gotten dirty, and it’s cleaned up easily and looks like new. I have high hopes for it

I didn't make this trailer, I bought it built, I just put epoxy on the floor and some shelves and e-track which wasn't that hard.
