Thanks! We'd like to know does it fit any different than Surron in the STANDING position? Does the wheelbase go any longer than Surron? Could you do a weight comparison? Really cool to see a valuable source reviewing this thing!
nice vid ! 2 questions: Would you recommend the talaria over the surron for a first time buyer and beginner at dirt biking ? Is the newly announced road legal version still a good off road model ?
Yes I would say so it's better build more premium looking , higher off the ground more beefer, bigger battery 38.5 AMP I heard after cycle battery charge it will be power it's upgrade lil upgrade over Sur-ron but can't wrong with either.
Questions: -I heard that when you initially rev it up, it has a lot of torque (snappy), but it then loses its snap as your riding it (past 15mph). Is that true? (heard from Sur Ronster's Comparation Video) -Which Fork should I get when I buy one? (RST vs DNM vs Manitou) -The Rear Linkage on the back of the Talaria has a different design compared to the Sur Ron, why? and Which design is better?
I can answer another question... the surrons needs alot of aftermarket parts including stronger rear suspension linkage. The takaria does not need a million aftermarket parts just to be a durable bike.
Thats some nice single track. Riding single track with a few buddies is my favorite thing to do. Especially if you're all on the same level. I'm not here for the bike. I'm here cause I know you're going to post some good riding footage.
What size and brand of batteries are they using in their packs? and how pro-active will they be with mapping updates? I've seen elsewhere that the throttle response is punchy in a bad way, hits hard but goes flat right after.
I'd like to know the difference between the motor in the Talaria vs the Sur Ron. (What technical differences) I know Sur Ron Shop is working on controllers and Chi is supposedly planning to build new batteries. Have you heard of any other notables upgrades in the works?
The talaria uses a pmsm motor it's newer better tech uses encoders instead of hall sensors like the surron. This is newer and better tech and limits the possibilities on which controllers can be used. But sintech is being Mass produced for the talaria and that would be a beast of a bike. Also the talaria has a huge following in Italy. I'd expect some quality parts being made very soon.
Hi Tucker, Andrew from Chile. I want to know the range with the 60V 38 amp battery. (Trails) Is more powerfull than the stock Surron How is the ergonometrics, more confortable than Surron? Thanks a lot!
It's 1 through 4. 1 being nil 4 being really strong I find 3 is a good number to ride in or 2 if you really wanna cruise. It is really nice being able to change it on the fly as you ride tho sometimes I I it up sometimes I turn it down.
@@knetle02 perhaps I'll plan a couple mile trip and start out at 100 percent and see what percent I'm left with after using the different levels of regen. That's not a bad idea. Subscribe to my channel I'll give it a go in the next week or so.
Will the gearbox be harder to maintain than the jackshaft? and does the different suspension linkage setup make a difference? looking forward to the review!
I think Talaria says to change the gearbox oil the first 300 miles then every 800 after that. As for the different rear linkage, most newer bikes have a linkage assembly close to that of the Talaria, I'm not sure what that means in terms of what's better though lol.
The oil is very specific and I've found I have to order it can't find it locally. However Amazon overnighted it so no big deal. I'll be doing my first oil change today and will post a video soon. I can't imagine the rear linkage could be worse than a surrons a surrons looks a little cooler the way the linkage is but it's a known fact they need replacing. And we're not even gonna talk about the primary belt and jackshaft because that's hell to work on and does need to be worked on from what I can tell.
The 60-volt battery (:16) is not an upgrade since the Sur-Ron battery is the same voltage. The Talaria has more amp hours, not voltage (and those amp hours are reduced by its extra weight).
I saw a video that mentioned that the lowest part of the seat and the highest part of the bars is actually closer together than that of the Sur Ron X. Which means that you'd be slightly more slumped over in the Talaria than the SRX, even though the Talaria is actually a bigger bike. In short, the Talaria needs raised bars even more than the Talaria does. Slightly even _more_ raised bars, even. After the bars are upgraded, though, it should be substantially more comfortable than the SRX for taller riders because of it's extra 2 inches in height.
He says it in the video it's called Croom. It's between Orlando and Ocala in the Wthlacootchee State Forest. They got a bunch of old quarries and trails where you can ride OHVs.
How is this type of bike for those over 6' tall? I'm 6'2" and about 210lbs. Is it similar to riding a normal sized mountain bike? I've not had the opportunity of viewing one of these types of E-Bikes in person so any insight you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.
Looks promising, interested in the trail riding range from this and other trips of yours. Any chance of a street legal version, would love an electric dual sport.
Stock surron has a 80a controller 60v battery the talaria has an 85a controller and a 60v battery. The surron has slightly different gearing tho more torque out of their larger rear sprocket. But sprockets can be changed easy the talaria is more powerful stock.
Electric Motion has other type other than Epure and Escape, it's called Etrek, but that EM Etrek is not popular, has lot of potential for enduro, lack of marketing
It has same battery voltage and capacity. It has same motor. It has same fork and shock. It has same reach size. Can you confirm this or tell if I am wrong?
It's a bigger battery, physically and capacity wise. 60V 38Ah vs 60V 32Ah. It has a different motor, physically a little larger and a different type of sensors. Fork and shock are the same, wheelbase seems to be the same, but the frame is wider due to the wider rear end, and the seat is higher.
They're both wrong first oil change at 300 then every 1000 miles. The oils very specific tho and I can't find it locally but not a big deal Amazon overnighted it. I'll be doing my first oil change today.
@@MotoAlias actually your Wrong, straight taken out of the talaria manual: “After the running-in period, replace the lubricating oil every 1000KM (Lubricating oil grade: CL-5 85W/90).” That’s Kilometers….not miles 1000km equates out to 620miles 🙄
What's a max range? I might use this as commuter for work this summer my work is 20 miles each way. Also which fork is better stock DNM or RST and difference between the two?
Will the motor and "transmission" support tunes as high as the SUR RON does with a BAC 8000 and a 72v? I'm planing on buying either a SUR RON or talaria and upgrading it, but since I'm pretty tall (1,96 m) I figured I could save myself a few small mods by going for the talaria since it's taller, lower pegs, etc. I'm just worried that I can't get as much performance as with a SUR Ron. As far as I understood, the limiting factor of going faster on a SUR RON is the high motor rpm. How do they compare at the limit? Couldn't you install a 2nd gear for high speed riding?
There's already a eco and sport mode. Sport being faster. So far the sintech controller seems to be the only one for the talaria and it's certainly a capable controller. The battery is a whole different animal altogether than the surron battery were talking 21700 lg50 5ah cells capable of 10amps per cell. The surron battery is 18650 2.9ah cells. I'd think the talaria battery is definitely more capable than the surron battery. And it's definitely got more capacity.
@@MotoAlias I am aware there is a eco and sport mode. I am also aware that the talaria battery is better. @@paulchenpanther7577 I have to believe the talaria is capable. It's basically a 60v storm bee... built in the same factory and uses very similar gearboxes.
