The way she (Sharon) left was almost romcomish..."
Well done, lads. Her last line when Ted's left and she says "son of a bitch stole my move," was Robin Williams' last line in Good Will Hunting, where Williams played Matt Damon's therapist. (I guess maybe not technically a romcom bc the "rom" part was the B story of the film, so maybe romcom-adjacent 😉). Cheers!

The Nate arc over three seasons is great. Enjoy the ride.

Every time I watch this episode I think, "Sam Richardson's accent sounds pretty good!" and then I remember that even though he's from Detroit, his mother is Ghanaian and he spent a lot of time there growing up so of course he's got it down.

      Yep. He nailed the accent.

Nate got his first taste of the team respecting him when he roasted them in the locker room in S1. He said things in a mean way to many and the teammates were laughing and enjoying it. The team won and they celebrated with him. Then he learned the nasty spitting habit and he confused speaking confidently with speaking down to someone. He repeatedly attacked Will and he felt powerful when doing it. It’s not surprising Nate became like this when no one is paying attention to him to guide him. The only time he was corrected was when Beard called him out on how he was attacking Collin and then Nate apologized

I honestly thought when Beard first corrected him, he'd see the error of his ways. Sigh

@@RamblersInc I had thought so too but I guess the lesson that Nate took was that in his capacity as an assistant coach he couldn’t belittle the players, but he could go after other support staff like Will. If I remember correctly after Beard confronted him about Collin Nate stopped bringing up how some of the teammates used to be mean to him.

What Roy did is way more problematic than what Keeley experienced with Nate. For starters, Keeley didn't kiss Nate. He kissed her and she handled it at gracefully and graciously as possible. Her feelings had nothing to do with what Nate did. Roy, on the other hand, is confessing (in not so many words) that he's feeling insecure about either he and Keeley's relationship as a whole, or his part in it. He's basically unsure of his feelings at the moment the teacher asks him this. That's actually a pretty big deal, whereas the Nate kiss isn't any deal at all, to Keeley or to Roy, because clearly she had no interest in it, and no confusion about that, at all. Then, of course, the Jamie thing is also a big deal.

I like the little exploration of these football projects with a recognizable player as the centerpiece. We’ve seen it over here with Beckham to the Galaxy, Messi to Miami, Oscar and that whole Chinese Super League thing, Ronaldo to Al-Nassr etc. And for the reaction to that to be relatable with the inter personal relationships of the characters sort of feel like how we fans see players sometimes but the Business Of Football gets in the way.

I wonder who the nest centerpiece will be.

Great commentary and reaction. We are seeing more and more of Nate's insecurities and jealousy creep in. Nick Mohammed did an excellent job of showing Nate's snake personality and regressive character development. Nate desperately needed Doctor Sharon's help.
What Nate didn't understand concept of: Ted is the manager of the club. Nate is the assistant coach. It's his job to ASSIST Ted in helping to make the team win. If the False Nine works, then it is a group achievement. That means that everybody did their job in helping to execute the play.

I hope he does get to see Dr S before it becomes unfixable.

Some of the characters are similar and we are seeing how each of them handle their paths. It is believed that Keeley is similar to Ted -- both are very positive and supportive. Jamie and Nate are similar - both were raised by abusive fathers. Ted commented earlier about how difficult parents can drive some children to succeed and others to fail. Jamie worked hard to be a superstar to spite his father. Nate had no self confidence because he got no encouragement or attention from his father. Ted is concerned about being there for people who didn't have supportive parents.

"dark side of Nate"...hmmmm😉as always brill reaction chaps; loved th'relatioship between Doc Sharon an' Ted; i too was pullin' fer Sam an' Rebecca, bu' sometimes things jus' dont work out thru various reasons. "He's gonna punch Jamie" is pretty much a fundamental part o'their rather convoluted relationship😆😁🤙🏾

I'm glad Ted had Dr S. I don't think he would have made it through without her.
