I have the Step-Thru model. Liking it a lot so far. On my most recent charge, I've been able to go 9 miles (14 km) & it has about a 60% battery charge left. The disc brakes work well & stop the bike effectively. Gear shifting is also smooth so far. The seat is very comfortable too. I like the fact that it also has a bike rack, bell, headlight & kickstand preinstalled. The front wheel is tool free quick release & the bike accelerates quickly. Some downsides: No throttle (unsure if it's compatible w/1 either if you want to upgrade) No suspension (I'm sure you can upgrade to a dropper or suspension seat post tho & I plan to do that w/mine) Unsure if the battery is UL-certified It's also heavy as mine weighs just under 50 lbs (22 kg) Otherwise, so far so good (got mine in January 2025 & put 41 miles/65 km on mine to date w/motor on)
For a $500 ebike with a trigger shifter, integrated battery, mechanical disc brakes, and rear rack, it isn't bad. Swapping out the front fork for a decent entry level air shock fork, seat for a more comfortable one with shock absorption, and crankset for a better crankset with pedals and you've probably got a great commuter. It's a little disappointing that it didn't come with a front shock fork at least, given that it's an ebike, and bumps at higher speeds on a solid fork are not pleasant, but they did alright.
The lessons of using a bike and motorize them. its pretty much catching up on what you can do and use off the basics of a regular bike of FOOT ENERGY for speeds. Ive learned the regular tires of 2 inch area no matter 26, 27 etc.is not meant for ebike speeds over 20mph due to them wearing out within 3 to 4 months if ya using daily of a 2 hour window, besides the constant bumping into terrain of degrading PSI along with inner rim getting hit often due to higher speeds. Its the reason the fat tires now common. Another fact is with high speeds, the frame needs to be double shocks like a motorcycle, a standard frame with only front shocks is going to be bumpy besides the loosening of parts of a constant maintained check. Those types of frames still sellable for the lower end of price but its BEST to go with the real basics of a frame with the dual shocks along with having fatter tires WHEN RIDING AN E BIKE OF A 20 PLUS MPH. The regular frames and tires are good for 20m[h of lesser speeds.
Anyone else confused on why we rode BMX bikes for years and never thought about any bumps LOLOLOL nor did my 16 year old son riding around state park and even on off road bike trails with BMX with zero suspension. lol People are funny. Ive never seen this kind of complaining and crying riding a bike down the sidewalk LOL You must have your tires over inflated or something
Glad you mentioned that because as I read through the comments, I was like "WTF are you people talking about?" I stopped driving almost 4 years ago and I ride a Specialized mountain bike 12 miles round trip to and from work. I slow down for bumps lol And one guy was talking about tires wearing down after 3 months. What!? LOL I graduated in 1987 and did the whole BMX bike thing. We never complained about anything. Kind of crazy because bikes were essential to our youth and hanging with friends. Now they have cell phones. So basically within 25-30 years, a bike culture was literally destroyed. Anyways... Peace

You get what you pay for, this is pretty solid for a budget ebike. My full suspension set up on my ebike costs more then that bike alone.

can the front light be turned on?
On mine, yes. By holding down the + sign on the computer for about 1 second
WARNING: I am on 1900 miles and at around 1250 the rear hub started to go out. At 1600 it seized up. These hubs are crap.
What is a hub
This is actually a lot of miles for me, I might get to 1200 miles in 6 month also don't expect much from a cheap bike
Do you have to peddle the whole time???
Yes, pedal assist only. No throttle to go without pedaling
Ok thank you
