The crochet granny square bonnet/hat have been very popular among the youths. My 15 year old asked for a granny hat because he saw some creator wearing one. Then both my they and 17 year old fought over it!! So it's very posh!! And I love the colors
Thanks for the short one. Your crochet reminds me of how much fun the Emotional Support chickens are to make will blended yarns. Your crochet is beautiful. If snow finds you perhaps a snowman outside your window might be finished with kool-aid in a spray bottle. Wishing you a fun splash of color! Happy new year
I enjoy these visits so much! Great job to you and your mom on the quilt! I also dislike foundation crochet technique. I prefer to chain and crochet into the bottom bumps of the chains, to have a bottom edge that closely matches my top edge. One “trick” I use is to chain a few stitches until my chain stitches are evenly formed, then start counting chains for the project. Once I’ve completed my first row, or the project 😂, I’ll pick out the extra chains. I appreciate you naming apathetic weather. We have a lot of it in New England!
Oh my goodness, every time someone here, on the very western edge of the eastern time zone, complains about how early it gets dark, I’m like, dudes, try New England.
Love the crochet and your quilt is beautiful. Hope you are safe with the snow. My son is in your area and he said it was pretty bad (but he also had to drive today in it to get to work)
My extended family is in the snow zone; my daughter's family is in the ice zone. I am so jealous. I am in the boring rain zone. I want to get snowed in so bad 😍 My extrovert husband does not understand the joy of a cozy winter day snuggled up with a good book, a jigsaw puzzle, a fiber project, and a hot drink. The thought of being stuck in the house makes him go into panic mode😂
Ok, now I need an adult bonnet/snood/scoodie, she’s adorable 😍 We’re over here in TN and it’s up in the air if we will end ip with snow, ice, or rain, but either way it’s gonna be coooold 🥶 I’m looking forward to being housebound with my new SPINNING WHEEL 🥳 Thanks for having us over ♥️
Ooh! Enjoy the snow!❄️ I was LOL-ing at Gus’s bra antics and your hubby’s reaction to your scood (opportunities for Hobbit LARPing? 👏) and wondering how on earth you manage to get so much crafty goodness done AND read books. PS. I love your knitting bags so much!
Your scootie bonnet!!! ❤❤❤ It looks like a little gnomes vegetable and flower garden, but as a bonnet ❤❤❤ Another delightful visit, thanks for having us over! Happy New Year!
I’m over here in Ohio and also looking forward to the snow this weekend. I just finished reading a book called “Broken, in the Best Way Possible” by Jenny Lawson. It was sad and very funny, all at the same time. Thanks for letting me hang out with you for a while. 😊
My grandmother called it church fan. It was her go to. She did all her piecing and quilting by hand. It was lovely but I don’t have the time or patience for that!
brb going to cast on a SCOOODIEEE ASAP!!! PS We were giving our pup these big kibble which supposedly helped with her teeth but she buried them everywhere! couch cushions! piles of laundry! our bed! her bed! I was worried we were going to get vermin!!! 😅
Thanks for having me over! I always enjoy our time together while I knit. I hope you get some snow. I'm waiting for ours to arrive. It does brighten things up!
We are waiting for snow/ice also, as long as the power stays on I’m okay. Got yarn, TH-cam, coffee/tea yep I can stay in, it will interfere with my daily walk disappointing since right now I am at a 100% daily walk for the year!
Happy Winter Amy Beth. Just an encouraging note for you to look up Angela Harding's website for her art - the illustrator of the first book you discussed - I have several of her PUZZLES that I got stateside at our local Half Price Books, as well as several of her BOOKS on nature that I ordered directly from her. I think you'll enjoy! Also, have you ever read the Wildwood Chronicles by Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis...? Another young woodsy inspired series you might like. Stay cozy!
Thank you so much for the recommendations! I do have one of her books, but hadn’t made the connection that the cover art was hers! I have been eyeing g her puzzles for a while, but was a little intimidated by the challenge of the limited color pallet. Maybe I’ll give it a go🧡
I've dropped crochet projects repeatedly cuz I hate cast on chains and foundation chains. Definitely gonna try the German twisted cast on next time. I love your scoodie and it seems to bringyou joy and isn't that our goal in making?😁

I really look forward to your podcasts. Your quilt is fantastic and I love hearing the train whistle in the background
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoy the podcast.
So happy to see you 😊 best distraction while getting tattooed 🎉
@@katrin462 ooooh! Thanks for taking me along!
That idea for the cast on for crochet is amazing! Thanks for that!!!!!

I find it fascinating how often introverts and extroverts find themselves paired up.
What a beautiful piece

The noro is perfect.
Can’t say no to a kitty print! I am obsessed with that Noro colorway.
Ooh! Enjoy the snow!❄️

Oh, thank you! The scoodie is definitely a prime hobbit larping accessory. My “secret” to doing things I enjoy is, I don’t leave the house very often.
@ and when you do leave your house you make it count, judging by your shenanigans. 😊

Enjoy the snow, and thank you for joining me! I didn’t love her second book nearly as much as the first, but I’ll give this one a try🧡
My grandmother called it church fan. It was her go to. She did all her piecing and quilting by hand. It was lovely but I don’t have the time or patience for that!
I will definitely be keeping the hand piecing/quilting to small projects!
Thank you for inviting us over more often. Lovely as always.

@@fatsquirrelfibers i always said she was too clever for her own good! and... i got the scoodie pattern so... ;)
I love everything you showed. Bright and colorful! Iwant to make the hood to wear in the neighborhood kazoo parade on election day. ❤
This scoodie feels very kazoo adjacent❤
@fatsquirrelfibers That's what I thought! Really fun. ❤️
You are sooooooooopo amazing!

It's always a pleasure to have you join me. Let's hope we both get snow soon!
I'm in Maryland, so you will probably get snow before me. It's freezing here anyway!
Happy New Year. My dog does the same thing. Gotta love them😊🤗

I would love to get snowed in. We did have a bit of snow for Christmas ❤
Love all you share with us - so many good suggestions! Thank you!
I am so glad you’re finding some helpful ideas!
I have to tell you I got so many compliments on my FS sweater bag at queer knit night.
Oh, thank you so much for bringing me along in spirit!
I LOVE your scoodie! It's giving me Little Witch Hazel (IYKYK) energy and I am here for it!!!!
Yesssss! Little Witch Hazel energy is the best of compliments!
@@fatsquirrelfibers agreed!😊
❤️ the sampler pillow!
Too cute

OMG! I just wrote a comment to Bookslikewhoe to try your podcast for size inclusive knitting content.
Oh my goodness! She is too cool! And together! I am flattered that you put me in the same thought with her🧡
That Noro colorway is AMAZING!! Did you get any board games? I got 2: Calico and Bananya (very silly card game).
I am on a board game pause. With the teen gone, I have very few opportunities to play them. I hope you enjoy yours in the new year!
where do I find books like whoa?
@@celestedouville2529 you can find her at youtube.com/@bookslikewhoa?si=sKEM03QLIo-ah64V
I’d rather take a paper cut rather than the crocheted cast on. OMG. It has absolute no value imo and I look like I just inherited fingers.
you stashed away that opal like your little dog hid treats in the bra-clothesbin
Truth!
I would be totally embarassed to even show that thing you are wearing on your head.
