    Put the belt on the grinder backwards and cover it in polishing compound ... boom ! you got a buffer , use it as a slack belt , does not damage rubber wheels even as long as it does not slip.

    Nicely done, but as a community we all need to help Buckin with his problem. I personally pledge to offer a good home to a minimum of two of his saws... one yellow and one orange. Keep me in mind as you implement the Buckin intervention.

    • @daltong6898
      @daltong6898 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the technical term is "appleseed edge" as it's both convex and concave. From the edge it goes convex and then into a concave towards the middle

  • @bc30cal99
    @bc30cal99 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Good stuff sir. There's nothing like getting to actually use a few different edge geometries to see what works for what task. I've fooled a wee bit now with some hollow grinds after being given an as new HB cutting axe from the '70's and seeing it was a slight hollow grind. It is not great for splitting however. Anyways the journey of learning is always fun, even for us older guys.

    Funny McCulloch story; I bought one when I was a teenager and took it apart to mount on my mountain bike. Tried making a powered bike. I was in Kentucky and a hillbilly neighbor saw what I did and got really upset and said I needed to put that chainsaw back together. That it was a waste and a shame that I took a brand new chainsaw apart. Later in life I get it now. Its a tool. A lifesaving tool. But to see am old timer get upset was kind of funny back then. Cool collection.

    I personally own a full set of Stihl saws from an 009 to the 090. I also own a set of Countervibe Poulan's including the 6000s (Dolmar), McCulloch power mac 6, 7-10's, a set of Homelite's, A set of Echo's, A set of John Deere's (echo), a set of Jonsereds, and a set of Husqvarna's. I also have a few oddball's like a Solo 610, a mint Pioneer Farmsaw, an O&R Line Mustang, etc. So, how many is too many? Answer: When you have no more room for them...

    • @joelpaape8748
      @joelpaape8748 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have the most powerful saw, and overbuilt especially in modern day, an Echo 1201. Crankshaft alone is 50% bigger than an 881's and the saw can be ported to 150+cc's. Decompression valve twice the size of an 881, etc. Most intelligent design in chainsaws. Piston looks like the old school ones before the worthless EPA got involved.
