    Coach would you consider a video on how to properly analyse your own games [losses] to actually learn from your mistakes? I just listened to your podcast with the orange glasses guy and took so much from it. Thank you!

    Love the grunfeld. One of the openings that felt the easiest for me to pick up. Definitely one of the most fun to play

    Grunfeld is what i play when I'm feeling particularly brave. I haven't been able to come to terms with White's massive center, but it certainly is fun.

    Amazing video Coach! Really interesting positions and that b4 idea was a really cool and insightful way of tactics that justify strategy. I for one eyed the move Bh6 for too much with the argument of slowing whites attack down with a queentrade, deescalating the situation, grabbing control of the e file to have time to improve the knight, and finally also attack the g2 pawn.
    looking back at it
    a) it severely weakens my darksquares after Bxh6 which can maybe be exploited later
    b) it does force the queentrade with Bxh6 Qxe2 as if the queen moves g2 isnt guarded, Rd1 also invites Bxg2
    and if the queens are traded, the rook comes in with a double attack one the c2 bishop and g2, and Be4 isnt possible so white has to say goodbye to the g-pawn.
    but maybe here white can sack material to make a rook stack on the e file possible with mate following, theres also the beautiful f5 pawn that has that mating net against f6 rooktrade on e8 Kf7 Rf8# (nvm, that doesnt work since e7 isnt covered then) so only after a pawn would be at d6, but white playing f6 glues the backrank issue seems more natural.
    Seems like i misunderstood the dont be too crazy as a tactics enthusiast, and here i do have to yet again credit u coach, ur very charismatic on the presentation and always deliver so many interesting games/positions with the dynamic touch and explain them well.
    all in all what i calced here is quite messy and definetly not clear so i do very much appreciate the genious b4 resource, playing a strategical idea with a move u thought u cant play but backing it up with tactics

    Hi Andras! I've watched you on Chess Mustreader and I really loved your thought on "What errors in your thinking led to this wrong move?". But I wanted to ask you about the evaluations of the engines themselves.
    I've noticed that since Stockfish 9 (all the later versions) the evaluations of positions stopped making sense. You could easily have a situation where you are up 2 pawns and the engine shows "+7" (with no captures ahead in the next 10 moves).
    Or the engine could show that you've made an "inaccuracy" in a thoroughly studied opening and totally theoretical position. Or that you made an "inaccuracy" when the move you've made is totally fine and nothing dramatic really happened.
    How do you think, is that a problem? Should we use weaker engines so that they would not point out the "mistakes" for us when we have no clue what is the nature of the mistake?

    • @ChessCoachAndras
      @ChessCoachAndras  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      on the contrary, the mistakes that the new versions point out are in fact mistakes, and we need to re-evaluate what we thought about those 'theoretical lines' . The engine, sadly, is always right.

    I don’t like the conclusion at the end of this one.
    In my mind it makes an assumption of an opponents move that is far from forced (taking the offered pawn).

    • @ChessCoachAndras
      @ChessCoachAndras  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not taking it is almost as bad.

      @@ChessCoachAndras - I just don’t get why white would take the second pawn with the queen given the obvious danger of the rook coming across.
      Wouldn’t white be better served stepping their queen forward - blacks pawn is blockaded by the bishop and in the knights sights, so it’s not going anywhere soon.

    For those who play the Grunfeld how different is it to the Kings Indian as far as feel and the position you get? (If you play the King's Indian as well)

    • @JanKowalski-je7qf
      @JanKowalski-je7qf 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      completely diffent, in grunfeld you get open, flexible structures that only sometimes get fixed after, in KID you're playing king's indian structure, maybe some benoni or closed benoni at times and that's probably it.

    • @makerKID5
      @makerKID5 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@JanKowalski-je7qf The KID gets crazy sometimes I guess a more direct question is is the Grunfeld as chaotic? Or can I exact a quiet middle game and a decent endgame.

    • @JanKowalski-je7qf
      @JanKowalski-je7qf 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@makerKID5 in both of them chances for a quiet middle game are pretty low, these are fighting openings. Howevew, in KID endgames (if it even gets to the endgame) are usually really complex and complicated, in the grunfeld they are more often straight forward

    Isn't the grunfeld similar to the french. Not recommended for lower rated players due to the immense amount of variations?

    • @ponzi_0
      @ponzi_0 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Grunfeld is much more sharper imo, french is more positional (2100 online so idk how much I should be trusted)

    • @ChessCoachAndras
      @ChessCoachAndras  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I would not compare those two. The Grunfeld is a heap more theory and it is drastically different from the French as it is hugely dynamic, whereas the French is often static and passive.

    Man can people create more content behind openings such as Caro, damn i dont want to learn all these openings when I can play simple chess

    • @Catofborealvalley
      @Catofborealvalley 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don’t get your criticism whatsoever. A man creates a video loaded with expert advice and insight, and you’re here like: “I want a dumbed down simplifed version of an opening”. Literally 99% of chess videos on youtube are like that. Go watch Gotham chess or Nakamura, there they explain basic forks and pins, if you’re on that level. Btw Grunfeld is a response to d4 not e4 like Caro. Against d4 you don’t have many good options. Slav is a good one, and he has multiple videos on it, go watch it. Other than the slav, other openings are very dull, slow, strategic, where white slowly gains advantage. Grunfeld is a rare dynamic option.

    • @siraf1234
      @siraf1234 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      There is literally endless content on the caro. However, by not even trying to engage in other openings you show your limits and your laziness.
