I'm rated over 2000 and here's my advice for reaching 1800. 1. STOP FU**ING RESIGNING. Seriously, lower rated players give up so easy a lot of times. Play the damn game out and you never know, you might at least get a draw. 2. In bullet and blitz, good moves are often good enough. You don't always need to, or have time to, play the best move. Higher rated players often play sub par moves to either simplify, or just to save time. 3. Play the same opening, and play it a lot. Simply learn all the ins and outs of whatever opening you like to play, and eventually you'll realize that players can't surprise you because you've played all the variations of your opening like a thousand times. 4. Use computer analysis after games. I mean really, instead of making the same mistake over and over, or keep getting folded in the opening, use the computer to see what you're doing wrong. 5. Stop trying to win. This is a big one I notice with lower rated players, they often try so hard to win by pushing/advancing unnecessarily, or sacrificing unnecessarily, or playing unnecessarily fast to try and win... So stop trying so hard to win, and focus more on just not losing.
Adding to number 1, I also don’t resign after a blunder because I want to play through the pain of what I’ve done 😂 It’s not fun to play in a losing position or after hanging a piece, but it forces and teaches me how to play tight and develops mental grit as well.
I was surprised at the quality of analysis and hands-on tips as well as how entertaining you are. Showing that you don't need to be a prodigy or master in order to produce high-quality content and help folks out there of various skill levels with their game.
I love your humor, literally watched the entire video while on a school night. I feel like I digested information so much easier with your jokes and tone. Please make more
bro you are funny and informative. Really helps that you are not a IM or GM because you understand the mistakes we make as beginners. Reached 1600 rapid today and i hope to get to 1800 maybe i will use some of your advice for that
As a 1700, hearing this makes me realise how chess works again after taking a break of a week. Thanks a lot for the clear and practical examples, looking forward to more videos!
Thanks! I am playing chess again after a long break. Just feel like I take 1 step forward and 2 steps backward. Your videos are very encouraging. thank you
Any Advice on reaching 2000 elo? Currently around 1900+ and keeps bouncing left and right lol.should I be doing tactics and practices on Endgames everyday?
First of all, well done for keeping a decent level, let’s not underestimate how hard chess is! Secondly, I made a recent video about this ‘How long does it take to reach 1800’ and estimated some ~2300 hours of work for myself. You might want to check it out to compare approaches. Keep going 👍.

My advice is simple and practical.
1. Read.
2. Don't play blitz or rapid.
3. Play against AI.

I'm new to chess, about point 4- what's the best way to analyse your games?
I was surprised at the quality of analysis and hands-on tips as well as how entertaining you are. Showing that you don't need to be a prodigy or master in order to produce high-quality content and help folks out there of various skill levels with their game.
Thanks! Sometimes I like to listen to people who are slightly better than me because it feels more relatable.
does it involve playing? meh

The first two are great advice but playing tight is boring if you're playing for fun.

Any Advice on reaching 2000 elo? Currently around 1900+ and keeps bouncing left and right lol.should I be doing tactics and practices on Endgames everyday?
You are asking the wrong guy. I need to come to you. My suspicion at higher levels is that defence / stopping counter play gets more crucial.
Awesome video 📸 great chess chennal
Encouragement means a lot to small content creators. Thank you.

What do you mean by liquidating in a position?
