That is a great question. I asked myself the same thing when I was following what Nims was doing in 2019, and came up with the idea of documenting my journey and "the how" behind it. The first episode I'm doing on this project will be about this year, and how I worked towards the first 2 summits. To answer your question, I've been saving for Aconcagua & Kili for the last year and a half and have been sacrificing my social life massively 😅. Aside from Elbrus, I can't afford any of the other ones and will need sponsors. Viv and I made a plan to do the first 2 mountains so we get our foot in the door, no point saying "I want to do this crazy thing" without proof - once the first 2 are done we'll try and find sponsorship. Thank you for your comment!
@@TraintoSummit wish you luck, its certainly a decent plan. Just watched, and enjoyed the Aconcagua one and looking forward to African leg. Will watch the earlier non-summit vid and some of the past adventures but great stuff.
Wow, what an amazing goal! I hope you come out successful (and more importantly alive) on the other end. Will be tracking your progress on YT. Best of luck!
I remember those days fondly brother... Thanks so much for your lovely comment, next year we're in mainland Europe quite a lot and will be in Switzerland for a couple of weeks over summer, I'll let you know before we get there Ray and we can finally meet!
Lets do this man! Im hoping after youve got the first two mountains down a mainstream TV channel picks this up like Channel 4 with Levison Woods walking the himalayas etc. My much smaller ambition is to walk the length of the pyrenees along the GR10. If you ever fancy doing that and doccumenting it id love to see it.
Thanks so much! I never heard of Levison until your comment, might buy his book whilst I do the Kili walk! Walking the GR10 sounds AMAZING! I've been following Chase Mountains who did the route a few years back, it looked incredible! Good luck my friend 💪
This is inspirational not only for hikers, but for all of us who are trying to pursue their early adulthood dreams! I admire your ambition and will follow your journey!
That is a fantastic ambition! I wish you good fortune as your journeys will no doubt be as ardous as the climbs, but I do believe that you can do it as you have the right attitude.
I only found you recently, and I'm soooo thrilled by the prospects of your goal! Looking forward following your adventures from start to finish! Wish you all the strenght, An ex-neighbor from Hungary 😉
This is so awesome Chris. Your videos are so inspiring, absolutely love this from you. I have zero doubt you will knock this off. You’ve actually 100% got this!
Amazing goal, dream big work harder. Can't wait to see how everything goes here on TH-cam. You are crazy man. Best of wishes and I will be here supporting you 🤘🏼
This is truly insane, I love it. Cannot wait for your documentation of this journey! Have you thought about making your community part of these trips? Like, sell or auction off places on the summit attempts (don't think many of us would be able to join you for the whole journey, saldy) or for legs of the treks?
Thank you! Buzzing about this whole project as well 🙌 Great idea by the way. This is something I'll seriously consider for India since it will be 60+ days of walking (without taking into account the actual mountain😆). Will need all the company I can get haha.
Dangit. I didn't see this coming. Your in for the ultimate expeditions you can do today. I'll follow your steps around the different continents with interest and can't wait for your updates. Btw, when thinking of it, this might not be a surprise after all. You have done this for a long time. You're only upscaling a little. Dang. You are the baddest couple I know about! Go for it!
I love this. An ordinary person with an audacious goal is the best kind of story. If you haven't already read Göran Kropp's biography you really must. He rode from his home in Sweden to Nepal, climbed Everest unassisted and rode home. A true purist. Good luck to you! I'll be following along.
I actually heard about this guy before but never knew his name, thank you for this, I'll look into him. Also thank you for your kind words, it means a lot 🙏
Good luck getting permission to Mount Vinson from sea. They are hiding things in Antarctica. So much is off limits down there. The report on the Why Files channels was fascinating 😂
This is such a cool idea and a very motivating story! Can i ask, how dod you gain the experience to climb technical mountains unguided? I am 18 and would love to climb mamy of the same mountains that you have climbed but hiring a guide each time seems impracticle...? Good luck with your journey, wishing you all the best!
That sounds insane! Props for you mate for going after it. Is inspiring me to also not give up. I came across your channel and really enjoy your work! I am on that 7 summit path as well. I've done Kili last year very cheap with a great team of locals I can hook you up. Btw did you used to play poker in London you look familiar to me?
Thank you mate! We sorted out the Killi guide already (had to find someone that would cater to no driving once I step foot through the park gates), appreciate the help though. No poker haha!
Cris, quick question: Did you take a course in Mountaineering or you just learned as you were going ? Congrats for your dream soon to be reality. I'll be here cheering for you.
I didn't do a mountaineering course (although I highly recommend this option). I learned most things myself but also did courses on top (for rock climbing and crevasse rescue). Mountaineering courses with a group are great because you can also meet potential mountaineering buddies there. Thanks for following along on the journey!
less glamorous question but how do you fund these tips?
