Funny you say this. I was just looking at picking up Battle of Five Armies and I did have a moment where i said "Oh no 200 more minis to batch paint." 😅 You could always get your minis commission painted 😂. Thanks for watching!

...creo que para que las miniaturas no se queden pegajosa, es conveniente lavarlas con agua y jabón. Porque el material de fabrica creo que reacciona "pagajoso" a la imprimación.

Tal vez. Nunca lavé mis miniaturas. Y mi base se secó y no quedó pegajosa. ¿Quizás depende de la imprimación? no sé... Thanks for the comment!

Seriously well done getting all these done in 3 days, they look great! It took 2 of us several weeks to work through all of them, though neither of us had painted anything before. Did you run into the dreaded sticky minis problem that is a common problem with these figures?
If there was one thing I'd recommend as an improvement, it'd be to have more to distinguish leaders from elites. We used white horses and flags for leaders (dwarf leaders had white rocks) and avoided white elsewhere. It just makes it faster to see what you've got at a glance when they're on the board.

Thanks for the comment. I didn't have the sticky problem but i think the key may have been the primer coat. I used a flat black primer and let that set. Usually seals in the miniature. Also thin the base coat after the primer and add in layers. Final I locked them in with a flat clear coat. No sticky probelm. Curious what paints you used too. My spray is red fox and the paints a Tamiya. Good luck!

Painting mini figures is believing in the process.

So true. And probably following the process too... ;)

Stupid question but how do you keep the miniatures attached to cardboard?

Hi. I just use double sided sticky tape. Thanks for watching!

    3 days? O_o
It took new couple of months to finish the forces of the light. I dread the moment I'll prime the dark side.
But to be honest it's my first ever.
And I do have the stickyness problem too.

Nothing wrong with taking your time. My first miniatures i painted where from Conan by monlith. I find that the matte clear coat finish let's you go back to the minis later if you want to add more detailed painting. Matte finish seems to help with the sticky problem in my experience. Thanks

So your minis didn't prime all sticky and tar like?

    • @pontosfathomhobbies
      @pontosfathomhobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi. My minis didn’t prime sticky and like tar. The only factors I can think of was I’m painting in air conditioned room (which may have dried them extra well). Also I did clear coat them after with a matte varnish (which tends to seal them). Also I mainly used Tamaya paints. Minis are matte finish and dry to the touch. Having said that, the plastic itself for these minis is quite soft too, and they tend to bend. If you leave the minis touching in the box. I I’m storing the minis in a plastic display/storage tray just in case. Maybe I will do a video to show you. Did you paint and have a different experience? What happened with your minis? Thanks for watching.

mine got suuuuper sticky after primer. I saw another video that suggested sealing with an Elmer's Glue mix. I had some success with that (glue first, then primer) but yeah... pretty disappointing and a mess to strip.

I am day Two into getting this set painted up. Unfortunately I am only 120 models in! No clue how I will get the Elves, northmen, and remainder of Mordor done in a day!

It is surely a heroic effort. Of course I took a lot of short cuts on my minis, especially with the orcs. Having said that, enjoyed painting the elves, gondor and Rohan the most. Have fun!

I used about 15 main paints and then some blending as well. I will start to report better on the paints im using in future videos. Thanks for watching
