    Something I've done with skin is to use barbarian flesh like you did, but then "wash" it with a speed-paint or contrast paint flesh tone.

    Complete noob to painting. I’ve always been the (hangs head) pre-painted mini or (hangs head even lower) leaving them grey.
    Hero Quest is amazing but, like you, I would much rather play with different characters. The minis you printed are beautiful. I bought the (hangs head to the floor) the WizKids “cartoon” minis. Since I don’t have a 3D printer as yet, that was my route to go. I also have that ticket coming.
    What was my point? Oh yeah. Loving your channel. It got me into gathering some paints to begin this journey. My hands are to unsteady for detailed, so SlapChop is the path forward for me. Cheers!

    That shamrock green looks really nice. I think I used a similar color for the tunic on an elf archer mini myself.

    You should make one that's focused on a highlight from your home game; an epic moment, something all the players remember. Bonus points if you get their most memorable moment or fight outta them but don't give away your making a scene of it. Imagine their faces when they do see it, and see how long til they twig ;)

    The Heroes3 board game is coming, and it has pre-shaded miniatures. I'm interested in learning how to paint them. Do you have any videos on this topic? I've never painted miniatures before, only on canvas with oil/acrylic

    For the Speedpaint flesh colors, I find if you give a proper full white base to the skin (no slapchop) and then thin it down with the speedpaint medium, ti works well.

      @MiniatureHobbyist  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cheers I will try that as I am never happy with how skin comes out, it always just looks dirty lol 🙂

    Diorama idea: In the Forgotten Realms there are a lot of powerful dragons that can shapechange into humanoid NPCs.
    How about a shot of some adventurers meeting a shapechanged dragon in a tavern, with the dragon model behind the humanoid one, and one adventurer recoiling in shock because their True Seeing reveals the dragon form?
    For example, Zundaerazylym or 'The Laughing Wyrm' is a steel dragon that lives in Neverwinter.

    What white do you use for your zenithal coats? I'm looking to also incorporate grey on the zenithal underocoat, but can't find any information on what is recommended for that layer when doing slapchop.

    This comes from a place of love, but do you dry your brush on a paper towel when dry brushing? You seem to be getting quite a thick, chalky finish. I used to have the same issue but began using a texture pallet to wipe the brush off on first. Fixed it for me. Also, use contrast medium to thin flesh contrast down at least 50% before applying over skin areas. The pop things are awesome!!

    • @MiniatureHobbyist
      @MiniatureHobbyist  5 หลายเดือนก่อน
