Real question why David has gun in first place?

  • @reedime5396

I remember when the David Kats thing happened. The most awkward and funny thing about the whole thing was when Fox News had a debate panel. One of the people on the panel was passionately arguing how video games cause violence and wanted simulated gun violence out of real life tournaments. Then when she learned that Madden was a football game, she was left speechless.

For those who also don't know how the justice system works here in Brazil: there is no life-sentence here, the maximum time you can get in jail, no matter the crime, is 40 years. Also no matter the gravity of the crime, there is a chance of you never complete your sentence, ex: Elize Matsunaga, a woman who killed her husband in several pieces, stuffed it inside of a luggage and then tried to burried it, got 19 years and 11 months but was release after completing only 10 years and now works as an Uber, another example is a goalkeeper from an huge team here in Brazil (Flamengo) called Bruno Fernandes das Dores de Souza (aka. Goleiro Bruno) who was arrested on the charges of homicide, concealment of corpse (via making his two dogs eating the corpse), kidnapping and false imprisonment of his own ex-lover Eliza Samudio, which was alleged pregnant of his own child, he got 23 years and 1 month but only completed 10 years and now keeps playing as goalkeeper in a small soccer team and lives like nothing has happened. That's Brazil for ya, the only crimes that's guarantee of death is whatever is related to child and since even the officers knows about how useless these sentences are, they usually announce to everyone what kind of crime you committed before put you in a cell.

That level of evidence cant be planted because of gsr or other dna evidence demonstrates TAMPERING or manipulation of a murder n THAT WOULD GO PUBLIC

& I had friends, I had My real BFF from 6yo that became My Brother & We stayed down until His passing on Thanksgiving 2008
      2 days before His 29th B Day
I’m still down with His Family .
I do feel bad that more time goes by the less We see each other
The less I stop by but it’s just from time flying bye bye
I still text His Momz every few months , which I should be doing a lot more . Life’s a trip .
      Anyways …. As I was saying…
      Lol
Yea, My Sega Genesis and then My Play Station was what kept Me going for a good decade
Until I finally let a girl get Me away from gaming
But then of course a couple years later people were actually making loot from gaming
but I quit because I didn’t want to appear to be waisting My time 🤦‍♂️
Every time you let someone else dictate what you do instead of going with what has always been there …
I was really good @ Madden too .
For some reason I have not been able to get back into gaming
Whatever happened that got Me to quit playing, it severed something. Lol. But FR
      I wanted to ,
I’ve bought a PS3 back when but hardly played it
I’m thinking of getting a Meta Quest 2 VR
When I played My nephews it was super cool
Also considering getting The X Box S because it’s new and much more affordable
I like Play Station much more but
I don’t think it would be smart to spend $600 + to get back in and to get started
      So….
      Yea…. Here’s a Book for ya to read 😁
I hope You enjoy it as much as I did writing this 😊
I’ll have to comeback and give You a heads up when I actually make the purchase 😁

Like I remember a video where some hotel staff in Ohio called the FBI on an Emirati tourist claiming that he was associated with ISIS and what not. Plea deal. Basically, she admitted to everything without further fuss in favor of a reduced sentence. Further, she was underage at the time despite being tried as an adult, and courts tend to be more lenient in such cases.
It says something that despite the plea, she got *40* years. That is very likely going to be more than half her entire life.
If that was the plea deal, the *reduced sentence,* she may very well have been facing life herself...or possibly even the death sentence.

plea deals can seem fucked up but they do serve a practical purpose in the court system. it encourages people to admit to their crimes which helps lower the cost of processing a criminal if you don't have to fight a lengthy court battle to prove they're guilty. it also turns criminals against each other by appealing to their selfishness. you can help yourself by ratting out your accomplices. it's not a perfect system by any means and plenty of people get off on light sentences that they shouldn't because of bad plea deals, or plea deals made without all the evidence. but in particular with this case, her plea deal is really bringing out the misogynists who don't know what a plea deal is or how American court systems work. many people are claiming she got a lighter sentence just for being a woman. it's not hard to prove they're wrong but it's nearly impossible to convince people they hold bigoted beliefs and to change them.

An addendum about the Jax Landing: The Landing wasn't demolished because of the mass shooting. The Landing had long been neglected and experienced declining revenue and tenet turnover. There were also safety concerns and inadequate security.
Highlighting the Jax Landing's neglect, GLHF Game Bar wasn't a legal establishment. It was a small backroom in Chicago Pizza at the Landing with minimal egress, with PCs lined against the window and numerous booths with consoles. Organizers had to ask people to leave during the tournament because there wasn't enough space for everyone. Moreover, GLHF didn't have a permit to operate as a business from the COJ and violated numerous fire codes. GLHF was a safety hazard, and I wonder if those two men would still be alive if GLHF had just followed the permitting process and didn't operate illegally.

In the USA he would have been sent into the "state hospital" system and that would effectively be a life sentence for a delusional killer with anti-social personality disorder. The doctors and the hospital director get the final say in whether an inmate is to be released and they'd have a hard time ever letting one like him back out in clean conscience.

It's best described as years of bullying with Clayton going out of his way to mess with Catz just because he was socially awkward. Examples include Clayton buying a copy of a book that Catz had published and putting it online for free download. Inviting Catz to share a taxi with him after beating Catz at a tournament only to slam the door in Catz's face and drive off. I am in no way condoning what David Catz did but I feel it is important for that fact to be known for context.

I always like the way you finish each story, not just randomly after telling the outcome but kind of finishing the way you opened the story... if anyone knows what I mean. Makes it feel complete.
