...fairly poor team in '93 - 8 Mc's - mostly Celtic/Rangers - no Anglos - hardly surprising results. This time we'll see a lot of English Premier League players - that's where the talent is and, at last, we have a manger who understands that. However, we do have, as usual the toughest group so it'll take faultless performances to qualify to the next stage - but I'm hopeful!!
I'm surprised Scotland finished ahead of the great Bulgarian and Romanian teams to qualify, but to be fair there were a lot of draws in that qualifying group, plus Bulgaria failed to beat Switzerland despite having a 2-0 lead at home. Had they held on to that lead, the Bulgarians would've finished 1 point ahead of Scotland and qualified for Euro '92. That's football I guess.. Funny thing is the team that won Euro '92, Denmark, actually failed to qualify. The winners of their qualifying group Yugoslavia were suspended from the finals. And then 2 years later Romania is in the World Cup quarter finals and Bulgaria is in the World Cup semis, having not even qualified for the Euros 2 years prior. 🤷
