I remember this. Scotland in a group of death (of course- but they all were in this Euro format), so they played with shackles off as Euro underdogs. I think they could’ve got a result against the Dutch and lost that opener, so when they were already eliminated and played CIS, they battered them. England? Lucky to get away with a draw against the Danes, tepid against the French and only one first half of quality against the Swedes. I wonder how Scotland would’ve fared in that group
Scotland won 3-0 against Russia. This victory made Germany going to the second round :) ! Without that victory of Scotland, Germany will lose on the first round, because they lost 3-1 against Netherland.
@@samanth74nikos66 Nice victory of Scotland for the last match against Russia, but it was much too late... already eliminated. Same in World Cup 1990, for their last match against Sweden. With that victory of Scotland, Russia were eliminated and Germany could go to the second round. I remember some germans supporters, with a banner, written : "Thank you Scotland !".
What a game for Scotland! When I look at the quality of all the chances, a realistic result would've been 3-2 for Scotland, plenty of goal opportunities
...fairly poor team in '93 - 8 Mc's - mostly Celtic/Rangers - no anglos - hardly surprising results. This time we'll see a lot of English Premier League players - that's where the talent is and, at last, we have a manger who understands that. However, we do have, as usual the toughest group so it'll take faultless performances to qualify to the next stage - but I'm hopeful!!
The McStay pass at 1:20 is absolutely genius. It’s a shame it didn’t lead to a goal.
Here are the goals:
3:11 0-1 Germany (Karl-Heinz Riedle)
4:02 0-2 Germany (Stefan Effenberg)
La siempre competitiva Alemania! Cualquier torneo que compite siempre entre las favoritas!! Muy bonito jersey.

I remember this game very well, Germany were strong ,but Scotland played very well too

Tremendo equipo: Klinsmann, Riedle, Haessler, Moller, Effenberg, Sammer, Reuter, Brehme... verdaderas leyendas...no como Ozil, Kroos, Kedhira y demás señoritos
Mañana se enfrentan de nuevo

Scotland should have won this, Goram flat footed for the second goal

3 of them played in England and 5 for Rangers that beat the English champions Leeds in the CL twice. But yeah, good point.
