what did ya boyfriend say about the Itchy Scalp, boo. Man, Dandruff, here we go again...lol What can men without Locs do to stop it?? Let me guess, Head and Shoulders right. I be picking my head love and be taking out white dust particles. like WTF. It depends on what shampoo im using, if i use AXE, I get muddy Dandruff. I need a better SHAMPOO, besides these. Any advice baby??

I also shampoo weekly, sometimes during the colder months I will stretch it to two weeks.

My locs were super itchy in my starter loc phase. My locaversary is 4/5 and it will b 4 years this year. I washed my hair maybe after 2 weeks in stater loc phase cause it was super itchy and i thought my scalp was dirty but when the itchyness kept goin i decided it was because my scalp just wasnt used to the locs. When i was a loose natural i washed my hair often because i was active and i sweated a lot. When i started i was my own loctitian and i was a graduate of youtube university. I was big into Keisha Charmaine and still am and i think she taught not use overuse oils on scalp so i didnt.

I wash weekly and my scalp feels very good, but when I get my hair my locs retwisted ( I go every two months ) my stylist says my hair is unraveled at the roots I'm like "Ok? That's what expect after washing frequently and waiting a bit longer for maintenance" but after that appointment, it's making contemplae should I wash less? Or just keep doing what work for me because my hair unravel at the root but never comes completely undon because a good portion of hair is locked. Idk what do you think.

Hmm, it doesn't seem like the washing is disturbing the locing process, it might just be that your hair naturally takes longer to loc. as long as the scalp is healthy and not too much buildup, I wouldnt see the need to change the wash frequency

I was literally just watching your video you made about this a year ago this is crazy you just posted this. I’m 2 weeks in should and my hair itches and flaking like crazy. I’m college basketball player. I sweat all the time should I wash my hair ? And should I wash it regular or with a wave cap on

Thanks for the questions im glad this video came at the right time. You could probably benefit from washing your hair more often because of the increase in daily sweating. Also, you can wash your hair with a cap on if you feel they may unravel. Here's a video about washing starter locs: th-cam.com/video/gI55Imx1aj8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XD7FxhR0XeoU4dzp

The reason why people arent washing are because of two things. One, to lock straight hair, people are advised to not wash it or use a shampoo that changes their texture to be able to lock it. This one was common with white people in the US when locs became popular because neglect locs were a thing. Two, some people in allow their hair to naturally loc, some dont wash them, some do. I dont know enough to speak about it fully. I think its affiliated with Rasta, not sure
