Thanks a lot! I did enjoy your short story and I feel i''ve improved my reading skills. Please keep writing and reading for us new short stories! That's something I' ve been looking for without success.
Excellent story! What a teacher!! First time I have heard it. I found myself a little more able to pick out characters. There's still no way in God's green earth that I am able to keep up or even halfway, but I'm not giving up.
Such a wonderful story! I am looking for videos when Hebrew repeated twice in a way Hebrew - English - Hebrew. Maybe you can do it? A lot of people would appreciate it I guess 🙂
I loved the video. My intial reactions as a polyglot and learning hebrew. I would have like the entire thing read in hebrew only first, then done again with the English as a direct translation instead of "properly" translated. But wonderful pronuciation between the two languages. very helpful indeed!
@@old-sage please do more stories. I’ve subscribed and I’m hoping to see more stories like this one or other types of stories.. it would be wonderful if you could make some conversational videos too, using words that are commonly used in Israel these days, such as people in restaurants or in the home - or anywhere for that matter.
אהבתי את הסיפור הזה. גם אני לומד עברית ואני חושב שסיפורים כמו האלה מועילים. תודה רבה. The vocabulary at the end of the story is great, very helpful but some words like "smile" or "thought" could be a verb or a noun, it might be better to specify as you run through the vocab list what part of speech (noun, verb, adj etc) the word is, because "a thought" is a noun in hebrew, but I know here it was past tense for the verb "to think". Good stuff though! Thank you again
When making a story to teach languages there are some good pointers to observe 1. Talk about the simplest ordinary every day things like house-hold objects. Also parts of the body. Also refer to people in singular and plural and gender in a progressive way. This may be done in a number of stories that covers all singulars, plurals and genders. 2. Inject humour into everything. The mind remembers the humorous. --------------------------- example ----------------------------- The story of Ezekiel Cohen סיפורו של יחזקאל כהן There was a man called Ezekiel Cohen היה איש בשם יחזקאל כהן One night he could not sleep לילה אחד הוא לא הצליח לישון He kept waking his wife up because of his moaning, and turning in his bed. הוא המשיך להעיר את אשתו בגלל הגניחות שלו, והסתובב במיטתו. The story of Ezekiel Cohen
סיפורו של יחזקאל כהן
There was a man called Ezekiel Cohen
היה איש בשם יחזקאל כהן
One night he could not sleep
לילה אחד הוא לא הצליח לישון
He kept waking his wife up because of his moaning, and turning in his bed.
הוא המשיך להעיר את אשתו בגלל הגניחות שלו,
והסתובב במיטתו.
Now she can't sleep either
עכשיו היא גם לא יכולה לישון
She said to Ezekiel "What is wrong with you ?"
היא אמרה ליחזקאל "מה לא בסדר איתך ?"
(Asks) (היא שואלת "מה מטריף אותך ?")
Ezekiel said, " it's driving me mad"
יחזקאל אמר, "זה משגע אותי"
She said " what is driving you mad ?"
היא אמרה "מה מטריף אותך?"
He said " I owe Reuben Samuels 5 shekels and I can't pay him because I don't have 5 shekels"
הוא אמר "אני חייב לראובן סמואלס 5 שקלים ואני לא יכול לשלם לו כי אין לי 5 שקלים"
His wife says " the Reuben Samuels who lives across the road ?"
אשתו אומרת "ראובן סמואלים שגר מעבר לכביש ?"
"Yes" he says "and it's driving me mad "
"כן" הוא אומר "וזה משגע אותי"
"Oy ve" she says and jumps out of bed.
"אוי ווה" היא אומרת וקופצת מהמיטה.
She opens a window and shouts across the road " Reuben Samuels ! My husband Ezekiel Cohen can't sleep because he owes you 5 shekels !"
היא פותחת חלון וצועקת מעבר לכביש
"ראובן סמואלס I!
בעלי יחזקאל כהן לא יכול לישון כי הוא חייב לך 5 שקלים !"
She jumps back into bed and says
היא קופצת חזרה למיטה ואומרת
"Now he is worrying about it, so go back to sleep you fool"
"עכשיו הוא דואג בקשר לזה, אז תחזור לישון טיפש שכמותך"
Thank you for taking the time to share you're pointers ! I apricate it :)
Hi could you please type in English how to pronounce בכף cuz it sounded like you said Dkhaf instead of Bkhaf at 2:30
I'm certainly not "Old Sage" but it should be b'khaf. I can see how you could have understood it to be a d sound though.
אנחנו ללמוד גם וגם עברית ואנגלית
You are too fast in reading. Relax
