    Thanks for the videos. I like that you show (in other videos) even the difficulties you have. Most jobs never go according to plan; overcoming the difficulties, mistakes and nuances of a job are the most important part of any job.
    Thanks!

    I was a little concerned about the mixed reviews, but I used it last year and hooked it up again this year and it was great th-cam.com/users/postUgkx-izdrK3eF-HMvjzeBOxToD6Fx-4ulJUh . I couldn't get my 10' Intex pool above 76 degrees the year prior and last year I got it to 90 and had to put ice in it. This worked so well! I have just 1 mat hooked up to a 1,000 GPH Intex pump and it makes a significant reduction in the flow rate coming back into the pool, but that is to be expected with how far the water has to travel through the mat.

    If CSST Connection had to be removed to fix a leak in black pipe, could you reattach the CSST with out having to cut off the end and redoing? I’ve seen other videos just reattaching and just tightening with no leaks!

    When you cut your pipe to length, how do you make it cherry so that it has a nice flat surface to seal?

    After you tighten the nut securely and create the flare can you then unscrew the nut if needed and will the nut spin freely? Can you then re-tighten the nut when ready?
    Thanks

      I put this type of fitting on some 1/2 and 3/4 pipe . I got a battery powered leak detector and found I had some very small leaks I got rid of these fittings and used pro flex.. The reason you have to make a perfect cut and to do this you have to have a quality cutter and go back about 3'' or 5'' and make your cut that way the tool rides on a smooth surface after cutting I used a file to smoot out the burrs if any. Also if you over tighten you can distort the lock ring and it will preclude a good connection. A proflex fitting starts back 4 grooves and has a rubber ring and you tighten it by snugging it and turning it about 1/2 turn

      I also used pro flex csst. I dejected that because it’s my first install and I liked the insurance of s 3 part connection system: the open ring, a washer, and the silicone? O-ring.
      In this video
      m.th-cam.com/video/rv6aRaPrjqY/w-d-xo.html
      the presenter hand tightens the csst connection and tests the pressure to 15 psi. In my locality gas/methane lines are at 5 psi.
      That is, a hand tightening pro flex would exceed the psi of the gas lines from the utility. Of course, you still want to tighten it more.
      I’d like to see a comparison psi of different csst connections systems. Maybe psi achieved per turn by different csst connection systems.
      Probably most are just fine, but I liked the added insurance as a fist-timer.

    My question is, is that sediment trap to code?? I believe the gas should be fed from the top to a tee with a right turn to the appliance and a five inch leg on the bottom of the tee for the trap.

    When you cut the pipe use a good pipe cutter not some worn out device and go back at least 3or 4 inches so the cutter rides on a smooth surface not on the end. Some times it is hard to cut all the way around and maybe1/4 '' is still attached use a razor knife to score this area or maybe cut through and then bend it back and forth to finish the cut I use a file to get a smooth end if you pipe is too short because you messed up the first cut us a nipple to get more length I like the pro flex fitings better they go back 4 groves and have a rubber o ring instead of that split washer...Since you put on that split washer right at the end if you over tighten it you can pull the washer over the end of the pipe and get a leak I use a battery powered leak detector to make sure I don't have any leaks and i check it the one or two days

      @@themrhelperguy The directions talk of using a stainless steel rated tubing cutter. I didn't feel like forking out twenty bucks for a new tool.
      Cutting back the sheathing two more notches helps a regular tubing cutter stay centered for a better cut.

    Do you bond the CSST back to the iron with #6 ground wire?

    • @rexolrexol7893
      @rexolrexol7893 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wouldn't hurt if you have a copper watter pipe or a foundation bolt or groud it back to the meter

    • @briancarroll6803
      @briancarroll6803 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No.. No ground to the CSST.. Your goal with bonding is to draw electricity away from the CSST. You ground the black iron. In the event of a lightening strike you want the electricity to go away from the direction of the CSST.
      Remember, grounding is basically creating a road for electricity to travel down. You want that road to be away from the cast, so ideally, you ground as near to the CSST as possible on the black pipe to create a detour for the electricity before it gets to the CSST.

    • @themrhelperguy

      I would not put a hacksaw to it. You are going to have to get a specialty cutter for csst.

      @@themrhelperguy if it's grounded at the meter does it have to be grounded at the bbq stub? If so, do you have to run a 6ga copper wire from the stube to the meter grounding clamp or can you ground to earth?

    • @taylorreed1943
      @taylorreed1943 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@francosshit in theory grounding to earth is just fine. The problem is that once you've put the effort in to ground to outside you may as well tie in with original grounds. Unless you somehow have room to drive a 8ft copper rod into the earth under the house.
