When you use blocks as a pad outside, you can fill the cores with gravel (almost full) and then use thinset to adhere a piece of tile backer. Kind of the the poor man's slab. This will also give you the opportunity to mix a small batch of thinset and call it practice for when you go to tile your bathroom or kitchen backsplash.
I know the TWH has it's own shutoff but I'd put one before the flex connector as well. Will be able to isolate that system in case the hose leaks without having to shut off everything else. Neat that the TWH has it's own dirt trap but kind of pointless since you added one at the main manifold which is at a lower location. I generally just pipe dope, I do find the t-tape makes removing fittings a lot easier down the road. Don't trust the Schrader valves and test rigs, they tend to fail lol. I do 30 PSI for 3Hrs for pressure test, this makes finding leaks easier too when using soap test. The foam/small bubbles don't matter, just want to look for bubbles forming or getting bigger.
It looks cold. Don't spray paint in the cold if you can avoid it. Meaning paint those pipes in a warmer place first, then touch up after. If you absolutely must, then warm up the can in a pot of hot water first.
So true! Weather has a huge affect on spray paint. If it's below 65-70 degrees it gets sticky and doesn't coat well, even colder it freezes. If it's humid or raining it takes hours to dry while on a hot day it'll almost dry instantly.
Your problem is those baby wrenches. You are going to have leaks all over that house. I knew the leak was in that manifold the second I saw your wrenches. Get yourself two >14" pipe wrenches and you won't have a leaky joint again. Remember, "Everything is tight till you get a bigger wrench"
I'm all for DIY most of the time, but electrical and gas are two trades that should be left to licensed tradespeople. Consequences of mistakes are too high.

I get the “we built our own house” schtick, but putting lives in danger makes no sense. It’s why licensing and training is so extensive for trades. If anyone could just read a book, there’d be no need for licensed tradespeople.
No way you are going to run that water heater on that length of 3/4” csst. The little twin stage regulator at the tank is only good for 200kbtu. The w/h is 199kbtu . By the time the gas gets to it on your 60plus foot run, no possible way will you be able to maintain 11” wc. This is not including the under ground pipe length. It will be like sucking mud through a straw. The heater may run, but it’s going to soot up very quickly. You will probably get a low gas pressure alert when it starts up… Change the tank reg. to a 10psi first stage, and pipe in a 2nd stage on the riser coming up near the house. You may get by with that set up.
your gas technicians just screwed you by installing that piece of 5/8 copper. They just choked the entire piping system down and you just lost BTU capacity of you water heater. Funny the professionals are the ones not knowing what they are doing. lol.
haha yeah it's what they had on the truck of course. One day I'll probably go underground and change it. We probably only use 15% of the tankless capacity so haven't had any issues

@7:40 those gauges can also leak. Also put a reliable cutoff valve in front of the gauge.

The csst goes to the stove. The water heater is right inside the house off the 1” line with a 3/4” x 24” appliance connector.
