What a lovely sewing room. I am new to sewing and will be turning my box room in to a sewing room. So useful to see how you have planned yours. Thank you. I really enjoy your videos. 🧵🪡

Hi Dianne. Here in the US we have a website called Craigslist. I saw an advertisement there for a group of 32 that make cards for our military and those in nursing homes. They were looking for anything they could use, card stock, ribbon, embellishments of any types. I got a hold of the lady who posted the request and she said, yes, fabric scraps were great and they would use any size. She told me nothing is wasted. She said they would even do a patchwork type look with tiny pieces. I, like you, hate to waste and feel guilty about these beautiful scraps winding up in landfills, so I now have a paper bag next to my cutting table and anything that I can't use goes to this group. I've met twice with her now, and she told me they had just about used up what I had sent with her the first time. Maybe you can find a group like that near you. I enjoyed seeing your sewing room and love your dress.

Hi Dianne, really enjoyed the sewing room tour, it has given me some ideas for my own small place to sew in ,my space is 4ft long x 2ft 6 inch wide plus the hight floor to celling and I am spending time over the plannig of that space so I utilise ever bit of that space to my advantage. I am looking forward to seeing what you bring in the up and coming year to share with us. "I wish you and your family all that you would wish for yourselves in the New Year 2023" . Susan 🌹🌻🌸🌻

Hi! Love how tidy your sewing room is! Another idea for your long narrow scraps is making piping to trim your projects. 🌸

Dianne, I found your YT this morning and I’ve been watching prior vlogs. 😊 I’m enjoying them totally! I donate scraps to churches and schools to use for their art projects and other things. I’m in the US; it may be different in the UK. Thought it was worth a mention. ❤

Thank you Lynn, I'm glad you're enjoying them. Thank you for your idea. I worked in school up until a year ago, I'll ask my friend and former colleague later in the week if they'd like them.

Thanks for sharing your sewing room and storage ideas Dianne, I really enjoyed watching. Being organised always makes you feel more productive. I enjoy sewing much more since I've organised my space and I know where to find things!

It is better to start with a clear space but I do find I quickly get swamped again! Here's to sewing in our tidy spaces this year Michelle.

Nice tour! Just want to share, I received a lot of scrap fabrics. The small little pieces here can be donated to an animal shelter that uses the bits to stuff bags that become animal beds. And for your slightly bigger pieces, small pencil cases, and make-up bags are so popular here if you have time to make some of those.

I like several of your ideas. I have a small room that is an office/craft room/sewing room. You have given me some good ideas for organizing myself better. Thank you and Happy New Year! I look forward to more videos in the future.

Happy new year Gayle. That is good to know I keep trying but as we make stuff it gradually gets messed up! Good look with your organising.

❤❤❤I love the long bench. It’s great seeing a small UK box bedroom tour. I’m very new to sewing with a machine. I’m starting out making a memory blanket from all of my grandson’s baby clothes. My main crafting is paper crafts so when you mentioned a scrapbook of your work that definitely interested me and thought I could do the same. Make my own with all of my creations. Fab thanks for the idea. By the way I absolutely love love love your dress. Happy New Year from Berne in the North East 🇬🇧 ❤

Do you have anyplace you can purchase a peg board? That would help with so many organizational needs. They aren’t very expensive and you can spray paint them to match and pick up some hooks to hold sewing accessories. Your room is very organized I must say!

H&M stores used to take scraps in their textile bins. They would give me a discount coupon in return but I rarely shop there.

I use larger pieces left over for making dolls clothes for my 4 granddaughters. You usually don't need much and especially if I have made something for them, their doll can be dressed the same.

Ask your local schools and colleges if they want fabric scraps tor art projects. Charity shops might want them too.

Where are you based Dianne? I’m in Burnley, Lancashire and I had a lady come around and pick up my scraps for stuffing dog beds she makes for the Dogs Trust….

To get rid of scraps why not make little scrap bags with diff fabric types so pple studying fashion or starting out can by small scraps to test or learn about fabrics

    • @darshnarach8889
      @darshnarach8889 ปีที่แล้ว

Also you could use some and make mini bag kits for newbies to try and make little coin wallets etc
