Es ist sehr erfrischend zu sehen, wie liebevoll und fürsorglich du deine Schatzkammer organisierst und gestaltest. Ein wirklich schöner Platz um kreativ zu sein.

The cardstock with the ladies on it from your grandmother's sewing box held hand sewing needles. I have one from my mom and I am 71 years. It is fun seeing what everyone has for sewing.

I have one of these too! It folds out and has various needles stuck through colorful foil swatches, each with labels as to what the needles are for (darning, hand sewing, etc.). My grandma found it at a thrift store and gave it to me as she knows I enjoy sewing by hand ☺️ some of my favorite needles next to my Bohin sharps. So cool to see others have a little part of his history as well!

Very interesting, great how you use the space. My local charity shop will take bags of tiny fabric off cuts , they recycle them and receive money as rags

I think some do and some don’t I know I’ve asked before and they’ve said they can’t but I know some do. I guess it’s trial and error! Thank you for watching 😊 x

Hi Sally, thank you for sharing your tidying up your sewing space with us, I found it very inspiring how you keep all your sewing fabric and accessories so neat & tidy and so well organised in a small area. I'm one of those people that hasn't got a lot of fabric, I tend to buy fabric when I have something in mind of what I want to make, but I still find my sewing room gets in such a mess, love the idea of rolling up your fabric and labelling it with how much fabric it is and whether it has been washed or not, I will be using that idea, thank you. I also love your Grandmothers sewing box, buttons & cotton reels, to lovely to see and lovely memories too. x

You are a good influence on me. I have made a start on clearing out my wardrobe, although it's been neglected for so long that it's quite a big job. I have all my sewing stuff in my dedicated sewing room, apart from extra fabrics, like silks and 'special' fabrics, which are kept in chests of drawers in our garage conversion. Also out there is all my wool roving; I used to do a lot of wet felting, but I ought to sell all that now, really, as I no longer do any felting. I have a lot of scraps, but I may donate them to a local special needs school, where they have an art department, but no budget for it. I used to put them on Marketplace, free of charge, but got fed up with people saying they wanted them, then not turning up. I wish I was as minimalist as you obviously are.

It’s really hard to keep on top of everything isn’t it. I feel like I have to really as every inch of our house seems to be used for something and I can’t keep ‘extra’ stuff. If I had an actual room I would be terrible 🙈 Thank you for watching I’m pleased to have inspired you a little xx

Thank you Sally for showing us around! I always find it so interesting to see, how people make sewing work for them, without having a huge sewing studio that looks like a fabric shop. I also find it very inspiring to see your decent fabric stash. I really struggle with keeping mine small. And I have to say, I do envy you a bit for your sewing machine. I have been dreaming of getting myself that very same one one day. But no reason to complain, since I have a good basic machine that does everything I need it to do.

Haya. I really enjoyed this. I like & collect old tins as well 😀I have made the Jessa pants, they are a great make to make 😀Maybe you could get some dowel or shaped wood to replace the sewing box handle, glad you kept it, I do the same as it really is sad t let things go that are still very functionable. Thanku 'sew' much for sharing. Ana 🪡✂🧵🙂xx

That’s a good idea about the dowel I’m not sure but it might be worth a try. I really like the box otherwise. It’s good to know you enjoyed the Jessa jeans I have mine cut now finally 😊 x

Thank you Sally very inspiring and I’m sure cathartic for you as you said! I have all my mum’s threads and notions and lovely to dip into, I sorted all the threads in one of those section ikea boxes in roughly similar colours. I wish I’d thought of putting my scraps on Facebook! I’ve always taken to my local charity shop for them to put in ragbag and sell but wouldn’t take last time, I hung onto for ages and literally this weekend my husband took to recycling centre and gone into landfill and that is so heartbreaking as I’m sure should have some use, I will try next time on FB. Happy sewing 🧵

Ah it’s so hard isn’t it and sometimes I think it’s unavoidable unfortunately but at least it’s worth a try to recycle where we can. Thank you for watching I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊 x

You're so controlled with your amount of fabric stash! Mine has taken over my apartment, and I've told myself no more buying until I've made a good dent in it all.

Ah it felt so good afterwards and I’ve really been feeling like sewing more. I hope you get around to it but don’t pressure yourself it’s taken me months to get on with this 😂
