    I was naive and stupid enough when I was younger to believe I could reach objective truth. I really, really believed I totally could. Why couldn't I ? It takes a bit of time but eventually yeah, you realize you are indeed filled with subjective motivations and biases and however neutral you feel your position is it's still processed through a subjective device before it's even formulated.

      You may not reach an objective truth. But it exists. Actually, there's a lot of objective truths you can reach, such as math. Just don't go relativistic.

    • @6NBERLS
      @6NBERLS 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course, it is possible to reach objective truth. The technology of the Internet, our ability to build bridges that don't fall down, our ability to put a man on the moon, our ability to ferret out vaccines for things like polio... and so on, show that we can come to grips with the physical laws of this universe and come away with understandings that allow us to cope with it all very well. Where we fall down is in understanding and coping with ourselves. War, slavery, totalitarianism, racism, genocide continue to go on and on (i.e., we keep making mistakes and not learning from those mistakes). It is time to stop whining about our "subjective motivations" and get busy figuring out what they are and where they come from. It's time to look at that guy in the mirror without blinking. It's time for the very coldest kind of soul searching. It's time to dig into our simian heritage regardless of how much humiliation or embarrassment it might cause. Only those who can say "Price is no object" and really mean it deserve the prize of objective truth.

      "Wmn are this men are that" doesn't refer to reality, hence means nothing. Now, spreading and popularizing this false premise means that there are people out there who either believed in this delusion they once set to spreas or were simply interested in human dis empowerment (i.e making us believe that depending on our genitals we are only to attend to one of our essential human faculties.).

    • @A_A_12_
      @A_A_12_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If we were told that men have kidneys, women have lungs, no one would buy it, yet emotional responses and reasoning are similar in the sense that they are constituent parts of all human systems.
      The operative difference lies in the fact that the former two function to promote our lives without our conscious involvement while the latter require consciousness. Hence, if you make humans believe they are only to attend to one, the believers will operate accordingly, hence living up to that idea. This, ofc, guarantees a miserable life.

    Bring normality into the therapy room AND equally vice versa ~ ignore accusations of unaware clienting AND run a mile from any therapist who plays non-disclosure games obsessively !!
    As a therapist, I answer ALL questions honestly (THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH) AND ONLY THEN ask questions about where these questions came from !!
    After all, one should model for one's client what would be sans for tha client if the world were sane which, of course, it isn't ~ but, note, the sanity of YOUR therapy depends on YOUR sanity, and if you have nothing to learn from your clients, then you are insane indeed !!

    Brazilians are more forgiving of natural human behavior, we know we lie to each other, while I'm lying to the other person, I know they know that I'm lying, they know that I know that they know that I'm lying, still, we do, we know we love sex, a lot of it, a lot, a lot, if we were capable, we would do 24/7, we know that rationality it's a tiny tool that we can use to enhance our lives, and not something that emerges from the vacuum, and sometimes even irrationality is a tool that can enhance our lives, even that being a taboo, or against the law, that's human beings, autonomous, self-interested, even our collective instinct it's selfish, and wants to cooperate at the same proportion of the reward of the cooperation, not an inch more.

    This whole bit about a person having twice as many female ancestors as male is flawed. Humans as a species have many more female ancestors than male ones for the reasons he mentions. But YOU, the individual, have nearly the same number. The only exceptions arising from the instances where someone procreates with one of their descendants, which even in tribal times would have been a rarity.

    • @gustavoalexandresouzamello715
      @gustavoalexandresouzamello715 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Think about it like a growing tree where a male branch has a 50% chance of producing another branch and a female one has a 100% chance. Now, rewind your own path in this tree.

    • @siggyincr7447
      @siggyincr7447 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gustavoalexandresouzamello715 , that's a poor analogy because the way a tree branches isn't similar to the way sexual reproduction works.
      Think about it, how on earth could any INDIVIDUAL have twice as many male ancestors than female? Like I said the only way you can depart even a bit from a 1:1 ratio is when someone occupies more than one node in your family tree, i.e. one of your ancestors procreated with more than one of your other ancestors. That is the only way. It can happen. A father having a child with his daughter would be an example. But even ancient civilizations seem to have had taboos against incest, so I can't imagine it ever having been a common occurrence.

    • @Sopranohooper
      @Sopranohooper 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Historically, most people did not travel. Like at all. There was a LOT of second and third cousin marriages, consequently. Trace the ancestry of any given small-town and you find like five big family names making up half the population.

    • @siggyincr7447
      @siggyincr7447 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sopranohooper That could affect the ratio of male to female ancestors for a given population. But that wouldn't effect the ratio of any given individual. Like I said the only thing that can change that is someone procreating with their own offspring/descendants. Cousins or even siblings having children wouldn't change the ratio in the case of the individual.

    Sexual repression is cause for a lot of problems in men and women. That’s why porn and pleasing yourself is most way is healthy.
    My friend keeps joking to his little brother that he gay and I can tell it really messing with his mind. He a teenager and he doesn’t know how to feel, I have to say maybe he not gay. I have to tell my friend if you say something so much it really going to get on his nerves. Just let him figure out on his own.
    He is the older brother he can have sex whenever he wants and the younger brother can’t and the sexual repression makes him lash out, because he doesn’t know how to feel. As soon as I stood up for him though he was able to have more confidence in himself. It changed his perspective to make him realize there are other sexual people out there, and he can make his own discoveries.
