It's really cool to hear your story. I'm just learning to draw seriously in my 40s with a long-term goal of someday publishing my own Manga. I have a concept and a main character already, but need to improve my fundamentals. It's really helpful to see how you started and how you are progressing. Good luck to you, you should be really proud of how far you've come!
It's good to have a clear purpose. I'm learning too, but just for the sake of drawing cute anime girls. And maybe to balance out working as a programmer 😂
Being an artist is one of the most difficult things, it requires much resilience, when i decided to take art more seriously i would draw all the time, but there where moments i would think "why am i doing this? I'm never actually going to be good at this!" (That happened almost everyday) and i would trow my notebook on the couch and feel sad for some time. But there's the thing, a lot of people simply give up completely after that and go on with their life's doing something else, so i would allow myself to feel sad, but even when feeling like trash at art i would pick up my notebook again or on the next day and also tell myself "If i never try, i never will be good at this!" And i would start drawing again and keep training. If i had given up on the times i thought those things i would never be where i am today, i may not be a professional, but i came to a point i can actually draw the characters i imagine and was able to find my art style. Sincerely that fase is the harshest, but when you can get trough it it's really rewarding! So don't give up, i still have a lot to go and also do you, but if you keep working hard you will get there! Keep working on your journey.
After working On a prologe for my 100 page story, the desire to quit is heavy, very so, but I keep pushing, Keep thinking of ways to improve, I have the names for the first chapter finished, 100 pages on January is the goal
This video is very motivating. I often find myself wasting time trying to find the easier way but hearing you say "chose the hard way, why would you want if it wasn't hard" is exactly what I needed to hear.
Note to all kinds of creators: Please, be kind to yourself Don't be afraid to take care of yourself and make sure to not burn yourself out, because this system in and of itself is designed to break you down/ stiffle your creativity/ and or make, whatever creative outlet not enjoyable anymore But of course... Keep going, you'll get somewhere (I believe in you! uwu) Believe in yourself.... because when you're all alone and all you have left is your thoughts and doubts... the only person you can truly lean on is yourself
idk why im so happy that i reconize your manga bc ive read it on manga plus creators ive been getting ur channel recccomended for months and never knew you were the one who made that
bros one shot broke my heart. it was going so well then it threw a fucking curve ball. please recon it and give us a happy ending for the two of them. like she sacrificed so much why must it end that way for her.
i wanted to be mangaka for years, from childhood i was watching anime and reading manga alot it was my passion but my drawing skills are very sad:( i guess i will become a sailor and be a captain one day but i still have doubts) anyways nice video man congrats
Drawing alone will not make a cut itself the story must be interesting and unique but making manga is step higher than light novels to be adapted to anime you already have the skills the missing piece is just a good story keep up the hardwork!

as much as i like the "chase your dreams" its irresponsible to not go to uni until you have a stable stream of income that profits every single month,if you do that, you can be a mangaka all you want. But you have to be well off first in order to do this properly
Hi bro I'm 17 years old and I'm also not from japan but i really want to be manga artist I have Alot of questions and i don't know what to do. is it necessary to join manga school to become manga artist plz reply
Isn't it a big shot to call yourself an "Popular Mangaka" just because a manga of yours got around 100k views? I mean dont get me wrong, its a high count but that does not make you a popular mangaka, even more so if the site you published your work on is mostly frequented by other artists, To truly call yourself popular you should atleast have a serialisation going on with decent views on it, everything other then that is just a lucky hit on your way. Anyways I wish you Luck in your way, If you plan to hit a serialisation on japanese publishers you still have to go through with the japanese readers that are most of the time very picky on even the smallest details like paneling stuff (you wouldnt think that normal readers would care so much, atleast I didnt), but If you manage to get a good story with decent art you probably will get atleast a short term serialisation, and for that I wish you the best luck. 頑張れ Mutoさん!
This is just beginning, waiting for the day when u will uplaod a video
