Earlier this year I decided to get into Marvel to see what it was like. While I'm just a below average player compared to these guys, I can definitely say this game is the epitome of hype and salt in the FGC!
3 wasn't the best of the series either, 2 was. And no, capcoms the one who ruined it obeying their masters at Disney and not doing what got them to the dance, which was X-Men
@@paulakroy2635 Disney was forcing the Marvel Cinematic Universe into Capcom's throat, with things like Black Widow, Rocket Raccoon, Infinity Stones, etc. The next VS game should only have Capcom characters, cause screw Disney.
That ended in abruptly. Was hype upon hype upon hype..... and 2016 showed up with crickets in the audience. Any way, I'm always hype for EVO. Cheers to tomorrow!
The other reason I think (in addition to what others have suggested) is that SFV was the new game in town and so there was less interest in MVC3 with most pros and fans focusing more on the new Street Fighter.
One of my fav things ever is watching someone become a champion at something... I love championships sooooo much and these marvel championships have been soooo beautiful... can't wait for EVO
he is more of an "all around". If they need someone to do PR, he can take over. Need someone to be producer of a game, he can take over. Need someone to help make decision at the company, he can take over. List goes on, he is just an extra in case they need someone last minute for most positions. Lots of companies hire people like that.
Watched a lot of FGC over the years and this game was top tier despite all the shenanigans. Looking back... That sort of meta actually was filled with so much random that it was entertaining -- especially at the highest level of gameplay. I sucked ballsack at this game yet I never missed a top 8 even when ChrisG's Morrigan ran shit for like 2 years straight.
The BIGGEST mistakes for EVO last year is that they didn't let the crowd noises roll in and they were trying too hard to be esports. I HOPE they didn't do the same shit this year.

I think it was KBR who had an insane counter to FChamp's Phoenix the year he won. That clip prob shoulda made it. The ending with Chris's win feels like it was just tacked on. Still a good vid.
