    Hey great video learned alot! Dumb question: my church has very poor internet so we connect the computer to a phone to tether (to use the data as it is much faster). Could I connect all 3 cameras to the network switcher and have the output of that switcher go to our computer? Thanks!

    Great video as we have 1 PTZ camera that isn't NDI and have on order a 30x NDI PTZ camera and was wondering how other Catholic Church's have their cameras placed. You are the 1st Catholic Church I've found on TH-cam and bonus, you also showed camera placement. Thank you so much. We have been livestreaming since the shutdown and did the crash course on how to do so, probably similar to your experience. Perhaps I'll do a video on our setup to compare. Thanks again and God bless.

    Hi there Greg. Thanks for the video, it's very useful.
    I have a question and it may be a silly one since I have little to none understanding of live stream set up, it's all new to me. I saw that you have a controller for the PTZ cam. The question is, do I still need an Atem Mini (of something like it) in order to be able to stream? Is it enough to have the PTZ cam and the controller? God bless

    • @BrunoDantas78
      @BrunoDantas78 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course, internet connection.

    • @GregWaltonMusic
      @GregWaltonMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just need the camera and the IP controller. Most production software will connect to NDI cams, so it eliminates the need for a video switcher. You program each camera’s IP address into the controller. Cam 1, 10.20.0.21; Cam 2, 10.20.0.22, etc. When you select the camera button on the IP controller, you can then program presets into the camera and recall the presets. You use your software to switch program inputs.

    Thanks for the video Greg. I was considering PTZ cameras for my church but reports of poor video quality and camera shakes during use has led me to consider other options such as mirrorless cameras. Could you please add some footage from your PTZ cameras so I could see the quality for myself?

    • @GregWaltonMusic
      @GregWaltonMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can see our shots on our livestream page... stphilipfranklin.com/live-stream/ watch one of the Sunday 8:30am Masses when we do multi-camera. Don’t get any shaking. PTZ optics is very smooth, but it’s easy to pan/zoom too far. Best multi-camera practice with these is to set your next shot on a camera off program and then switch. With just 1 Camera, it’s a bit trickier, but you can pre-program scenes and switch pretty quick using an iPad as a remote or the optional controller. On our stream you’ll see a black blink once in a while. That’s an issue with our software, Livestream Studio, and NVidia GPU. Waiting on a patch. Doesn’t happen in VMix or OBS.

    I feel stupid. What is simulcast license? I setup our Church with older Canon camera with good Cmos sensor and pump video to PC with OBS software and out to TH-cam livestream. We have CCLI but I have not seen anything about livestream license. Are you sure it's needed?

    • @GregWaltonMusic
      @GregWaltonMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t need a license to simulcast. What I meant is that our software, Livestream Studio, comes with a Vimeo Premium license. With this level of service, Vimeo can be set up to simulcast as a recurring event to Facebook, TH-cam and specific RTMP destinations. This reduces the bandwidth on our upload because we’re only streaming to one destination, Vimeo. We have the recurring Vimeo event window embedded on our website, so all our streams show up there without having to make any backend changes for our regular worship. LS Studio remembers all our camera and destination settings, so when it is launched, all our volunteers have to do is make sure the program window is on the altar and hit “Go Live.” We stream daily, and have volunteers with varying levels of tech savvy. So that helps a lot. OBS is great, btw. Especially for churches on a tight budget and / or stream once a week with a solid team. You must have some really great experience. I’ve worked with it as well as VMix. LS Studio has its share of quirks. We have the budget to handle Premium and do 10 steams a week: 2 in Spanish and 8 in English.

    Does the camera you showed only require the 1 network cable, then the network cable must also provide the video to the computer for streaming.

    • @GregWaltonMusic
      @GregWaltonMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right. That’s it. The Ethernet cable needs to be plugged into a POE (Power Over Ethernet) switcher. The camera sends the feed to the network and the switcher sends power to the camera. Eliminates the need for a power supply. You only have to pull Ethernet to the camera location.

    Hey there. God bless you man
    Just a question please, I found some PTZ cameras called "SMTAV" with the same specs of the PTZOptics cameras, but for a much less price (800-900$).. is the PTZOptics worth it or it's just overpriced ? thank you

    • @GregWaltonMusic
      @GregWaltonMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are they NDI? Part of the price point with NDI is the license for the firmware. Also, what is the optical zoom for the SMTAV?

      Never heard of SMTAV. Not available when we got ours in 2020. Looks like they came out Spring of 2021. On one review I saw from April, it looked exactly like a PTZOptics down to the case, packaging and remote. Could be a knock off. I’ve been really pleased with PTZOptics tech support.

      I'm looking at AVKANS NDI Cameras for upgrade. I've read they are exact copies of PTZoptics and have good support. Will find out when I save up enough. Around $550 for 20x NDI and $800+ for 30x NDI with motion tracking.
