    THIS was done live in 1964. No remix or do-overs just a straight-ahead performance. No special effects or autotune. Pure talent.

      Actually, the video is of a live performance on a TV show, but the audio is the actual studio version. There IS a copy of this same performance on TH-cam using the original TV audio, but it is very poor quality. The person that posted this version overdubbed the studio version to show how the audio was SUPPOSED to sound.

    You have just heard the greatest duo of all time. Not only do they have amazing voices, you are right, Bobby, the Tenor, and Bill. the Baritone, always put all their heart, soul and emotion into their performances. They felt the music in their very souls. Bobby is gone from us, we miss him so. Bill is 80 years old, and still singing.

    Their music catalog is amazing. Not only for their professional perfection but for their diversity. Bobby Hatfield (the tenor) sings UNCHAINED MELODY and EBB TIDE solo and Bill MEDLY (baritone)sings the theme for the movie DIRTY DANCING, HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE. They delve into southern Mississippi Delta Blues with I JUST WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO YOU. SOUL AND INSPIRATION is their next biggest hit. This song is the most played song on American radio and television in the 20th century with over 8,000,000 plays. This is before Applplay or youtube existed. They are in THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME.

  • @HansDelbruck53
    @HansDelbruck53 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A reviewer once called him the bucket-voiced Bill Medley. That always struck me as an apt description of the depth of his baritone vocalizations. Paired with the brilliant tenor and falsetto range of Bobby Hatfield, this may have been the most dynamic singing duo ever.

    “The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 88 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary.
    “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century.
    "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965. Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby's use of "Runs" is brilliant. He is the master of the technique and started the trend. 7 notes just to say the word "I".... Their name came when they did a show in a smaller venue and a black man told them…. You two Brothers are Righteous. They created the sound and set the table that all Soul Music fed from for decades to come.
    In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin’ Feelin‘" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
