Not only is this real country, Sierra Ferrell is the most talented female country singer I’ve ever heard. While it’s a shame that a lot of people will never listen to this music, or even enjoy it, I’m glad there are people who still take the time to take things back to the roots and put a new spin on an old tradition that still lives on in the hearts of enough people. Sierra you are a blessing to the country/folk/bluegrass genre, and a blessing to music in general.
I think, I'm finally ready to say it. Dolly has a g'damn run for her money. What a time to be in! If you ever read this Sierra Ferrell, you are invited out west, just about any ole time.
She makes my knees knock like John Prine said..... I wished I had a woman Who could make my knees knock She'd sing like an angel And eat like a bird And if I wrote a song She'd know every single word. RIP John Prine and Long Live Sierra Ferrell
Always loved this Tom Paxton song. ""The Last Thing on My Mind" is a song written by American musician and singer-songwriter Tom Paxton in the early 1960s and recorded first by Paxton in 1964."
I was at a Guitar center here in Waco Texas earlier this afternoon..a man walked in and introduced himself as Timbo and as soon as he played that guitar I sat there and listened to some of the best live music I’ve ever heard. Was a pleasure to meet you and hear you play man.
I love the way the camera cuts out the male singer and moves to the female singer when she sings. You see, I didn't know that I was supposed to look at her when she sings, so thata camera change helped me out a lot.
Thanks for knowing that .......This is a very interesting rendition of this song .....but I hope people go hear it by the great singer/songwriter Tom Paxton .....this really is his song
My brother came in to the living room thinking that was a classic country cut! That's how good y'all are. I learned this song from the wonderful Doc Watson version. Fun harmonies.
My name is Jason and my brother's wife just passed away last night and your music is helping me and my family through this thank you Sierra for your music thank you
So very impressed, not only with Sierra's incredible voice, but with her ability to "perform the song" while singing it....such a beautiful and unique talent. Love you Sierra.
They don’t! But at first I thought you said Sierra doesn’t understand how great she is. I was gonna say, “Go watch her Grand Ol Opry debut, she spoke about how she enjoys effecting people’s feelings when she sings. She reminds me a lot of Patsy Cline, Patsy also said how she, “Liked reaching down and grabbing people’s heartstrings.”
I never gave country music a thought until I heard Sierra's "in dreams". I've learned so much from deep diving her cover songs and I'm so into it now. She's so talented. I just love her!
Well, it’s actually an old Tom Paxton tune, and one my favorites. Goes without saying y’all had me smiling ear to ear for during this show...just wish it was live. Anyway, thanks for a great night...and for breathing new life into these old songs.
@@alan4sure no problem. there's a lot of overlap and a lot of songs fall into both genres. my favorite is the Charlie Pride live at Panther Hall version
Song written by Tom Paxton. Covered by literally hundreds of artists as diverse as Neil Diamond, Phil Everly, Willie Nelson, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, etc. Dolly and Porter's 1967 version did really well, though, and helped Tom's career immensely, which he has mentioned frequently in his concerts.
I appreciate Timbo riffs of Sierra and plays an anchoring a role while totally making space for her to properly do her awsomeness. Love it when musicians listen to each other!
This is my first to hear and experience just how talented of a country singer you are!! I Just discovered Timbo while on vacation in Nashville, and now I’m here, I was deer hunting with family last weekend, and Friday he’ll be playing just 15 minutes from my house in Austin!
Wow, came here because I'm a new fan of yours and was surprised by this guy Timbo doing this so well. Y'all nailed it. Don't change a thing. The rest of the world will catch up one day, maybe, eventually.🤩
Hey Sierra, please.. don’t change a thing you’re doing. You’re the embodiment of over 100 years of the greatest artists to ever sing for us. There’s no words to describe how special and important you and all of your friends along the way are to today’s music. On behalf of everyone ever, thank you
The shame I feel now from missing out on this virtual show is unreal. I think she may be the first to ever do it better than Dolly, didn’t think it was possible but here we are.
Been waiting on you, little bird, spring is here cause you're bringing it to my ear, that good ole Virginie mountain dew taking away these cold, cold blues, Thank You Both! Grandpa/13/3D

Couldn’t have said it better
i mean it IS a cover of an old timey song.
Amen
well said!
At last someone who can fill Dolly's high-heels!
Man...too many people are sleeping on the country music revolution we're living through right now. So good.
She stayed with me at my house and gave me a cute feather clip she made. She's a super sweetheart and so talented.
Rip cash❤
she gives me goose bumps every time she starts singing.
Me too ! Please come to Scotland Sierra!
Yep, and I often end up with something in my eye. She’s magic.
:)
Absolutely agree with you.

CMA award show committee heads would explode listening to such great music.
Let’s hope they never get ahold of her
I dont even listen to the radio stations ...its pretty pathetic what they call country music today.
CMA doesn't recognize real singers who aren't bought.
The CMA will be giving them awards in 30 years. And if I'm alive, I won't be watching then either. Sierra is greatest of my generation
If it doesn't play 57 times a day on boring FM radio, the CMA won't even have heard of it honestly.
Sierra ONE OF A KIND
God Sierra is so versatile. She can alter her appearance as well as she can alter her style. She is extraordinary.
Always loved this Tom Paxton song. ""The Last Thing on My Mind" is a song written by American musician and singer-songwriter Tom Paxton in the early 1960s and recorded first by Paxton in 1964."
It's like I've been drinking city water for so long and now I've tasted the cool mountain spring.
I'm a simple man. I see a Sierra video, I Like the video.
That's one of the most overused comments on yt. Congrats.

i always come back here.

She channeled Dolly impeccably
BEAUTIFUL!! TOM PAXTON WROTE THIS SONG😎
Thanks for knowing that .......This is a very interesting rendition of this song .....but I hope people go hear it by the great singer/songwriter Tom Paxton .....this really is his song
She kinda sounds a little bit like a young Dolly !!! Shes the country music miracle thank god for her !!!!
She. Is. Absolute. Perfection.
The Tone on His Guitar…..A Trained Ear Knows…Awesome.
You can hear Dolly in her voice ❤
That's the truth !!!! Sing it sweetheart!
Sierra has that unique type of voice that no one else has. That's how super stars make the big time.
2:19 Sierra is adorable.
I weep that true country music still survives. Thank you, thank you. So real.
What a beautiful voice, something between silk and knife.
Have to say Timbo has the best job in the World 🎙🎼🎵🎶🎙👊😎 Sierra's 1 of a kind
My brother came in to the living room thinking that was a classic country cut! That's how good y'all are. I learned this song from the wonderful Doc Watson version. Fun harmonies.

Stay in there, Jason. Peace to you and yours.
Condolences and prayers offered up to you and your family.
Thank you guys it was sudden and very unexpected
Bless up
thank YOU for listening
Sierra, I had not heard about you.lady you bring back,1000. Memories.
Go see her live. She is mind blowing.
Not many musicians can pull on my heartstrings with just their voice but Sierra is definitely one that can and does every time
So very impressed, not only with Sierra's incredible voice, but with her ability to "perform the song" while singing it....such a beautiful and unique talent. Love you Sierra.
Sierra is the real deal, folks.
Sierra sounds like Dolly here when she first started on the Porter Waggoner Show in the 1960’s. Congratulations, Sierra!
True! Performed in the same tempo as the Dolly/Porter original, with Sierra every bit as good as Dolly and great harmony from Timbo.
I don’t think the world understands how freakin TALENTED SHE IS 😍
They don’t! But at first I thought you said Sierra doesn’t understand how great she is. I was gonna say, “Go watch her Grand Ol Opry debut, she spoke about how she enjoys effecting people’s feelings when she sings. I do!
This was one of my favourite songs in the late 1960s. Written by Tom Paxton.
I never gave country music a thought until I heard Sierra's "in dreams". I've learned so much from deep diving her cover songs and I'm so into it now. She's so talented. I just love her!

Jose Feliciano does an incredible version...
First time I heard this song was Doc Watson singing it. Great song
you're "that guy"
Close your eyes, it's Dolly! This girl rocks.
It's 2024, and the way this world is going right now, it's hard to find a sense of solace. Hearing this music immediately takes me there.🌻
Dammmnnnnn. Her Dolly is amazing!
So strange how 50 years ago this would be mainstream. now, the general audience thinks country music that isn't rap or pop is strange
This was folk music, not country.
@@alan4sure not that it matters, but there's this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Thing_on_My_Mind
@@jwilli726 interesting---thanks.

I once was able to ask Tom Paxton how many people had covered this song, he just shook his head. Great song.
Sierra is a treasure
I appreciate Timbo riffs of Sierra and plays an anchoring a role while totally making space for her to properly do her awsomeness. Love it when musicians listen to each other!
Sierra sure can sing and she's darn cute too!
Well this is just pure beauty... love from Ireland 🇮🇪❤️
They need to create an Album together, I know I would buy it!

Wow it’s hard to shine when singing with sierra but this timbo guy is really good too 😱😂👋
This is my first to hear and experience just how talented of a country singer you are!! I Just discovered Timbo while on vacation in Nashville, and now I’m here, I was deer hunting with family last weekend, and Friday he’ll be playing just 15 minutes from my house in Austin!
Sure is a dandy tune... thank y'all for that 🤠
So good! Like Dolly and Cash ruling
Today, my hope for American folk and country is renewed. I'll never be the same again.
Sierra always hits a spot in my soul with her singing/appearance/spirit.
What a song writer Tom Paxton is. Thanks Tom.
Mountain songbird, I hope for you Dolly gets to hear this. You remind me of her tenacity, when she started out. Blessing to you.
PLEASE do another Dolly cover 😍😍 I beg you!!
We’re dying up here in Philadelphia, hope you make out this way.
